The Apple Pencil usb-c can attach magnetically to the iPad 10th gen. But does it attach to the new iPad Air m2 ?

That is correct. the new amazing Apple Pencil Pro is only compatible with the new iPad Air with the M2 processor and the new iPad Pro with M4.

My Apple Pencil gen 1 isn’t working with procreate and I have an iPad 10 how can I fix it?
Does that mean that if I should get the new iPad M2 that I will need a new Apple Pencil?! I have the Gen 2. Are you saying that it won’t work with the new iPads?

With the new M2 IPad Air you can use the Gen 2 and the new pro pencil. The new pencil only works with the new iPad Airs (M2) and the new iPad Pro (M4). I just got my new 13 inch Air and it works with my Gen2 pencil as well.
You cannot use an Apple Pencil 2 on an iPad Air. It only works on with the Apple Pencil Pro or the Apple Pencil USB-C They re-enginered the charging magnet and they are not compatible with the Apple Pencil 2

Quite honestly, not the very considerate of Apple not having backwards compatibility to at least the previous Pencil. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yep! Because it doesn’t have the magnetic connection, which varies from iPad to iPad, it works with all.
I like my Apple Pencil 2 💜. The upgrades are not worth it to me.
Do you know how many layers are available in Procreate on the M4 iPad Pro? I’m getting one soon and haven’t been able to find that info anywhere.

Slightly off topic but, if I upgrade my iPad so I can get the pro pencil, do the apps I’ve purchased on my old iPad transfer to the new iPad? (Example, procreate). Thanks 😁

I have an Ipad Pro 4th Generation 2020, 12,9" and the Apple Pencil 2nd Gen and I love it BUT:
-THIS here looks also pretty cool and tantalizing, but the new Pro seems too expansive though.. ?! How would the new AIR 13" compare to my former IPAD PRO..?! Would it still bring considerable advantage (Hover, Squeeze, Barrel).? What about the touch and feel of the pencil tip on screen compared to an IPAD PRO..?!-Any gap between screenglas and pencil tip, noticable or difference? I thought the whole IPAD PRO line-up is better tech than the IpadAirs...?! Is this still true nowadays?

These are all great questions. I will def be coming out with an in depth review on the new Pro and Air. The one thing I will say is the Air is an insane value. It is as powerful as the 2022 iPad Pro with the same M2 processor. The big difference is still only 8gb Ram on the new Air. The Apple Pencil Pro is the game changer. Upgrading I will always say is dependent on your budget and needs. Get an iPad that works best for you and your budget. Where you will see the biggest change is getting a model with 16gbs of ram. That is the iPad Pro with 1TB of storage. That will give you the largest amount of layer increase over what you have now. Check out the Trade in Program if you really want the new Apple Pencil Pro and want the increase in not only performance from the bigger processor and the real big change being a higher layer count from Procreate due to more ram. Hope this helps and more reviews of the iPads coming as all the software comes out. Still waiting for Procreate to release the update. I am hoping it will be sooner that later as its going to be amazing. I was only testing on early software for this review.

Sorry a bit confused. My gen 6 12.9 pro has a m4 processor but it’s not the brand new one. Does that mean the new pencil will work either it?
@@terif7480 The 2022 Model iPad Pro has an M2 processor and works with the Apple Pencil 2.
Do you know if the Apple Pencil Pro is compatible with pencil grips? I use the Paperlike Apple Pencil grip and I really like the thickness and it keeps my hand from getting tired.
The Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil 2 are the same diameter!

I have an iPad Pro from 2018 which is starting to run out of steam and also I am short of layers in Procreate.. Do you recommend which one, an iPad Pro M4 or Ipad Air in terms of screen, is there a real difference? Thank you and have a nice day
The screen on the Pro is beautiful and bright. I am still testing out the Nano screen but am blown away by how you can draw so much easier outside with it. The Air is a great value but the Pro if is in your budget and you are running out of layers is a great investment. I'd get the 1Tb model without Nano or with if you need to be outside. The 1Tb iPad Pro M4 has 16 GBs of ram which will get the most layers too.
