Great video! Thanks for the tips. I just got my RX2 on Thursday. Today's my first day of really playing around with it. I love it! In the past, I had bad experiences with my laptop and feel so much better now that I'm no longer at the mercy of Windows.
It does not have a built in sample bank unless your using rekordbox and the RX2 as a controller. You can make custom tracks with your samples spaced out and cued up, extra work but worth it.
It won't. This is a hardware hack that gives you mixer capabilities (faders/EQs) without a midi link. The whole idea is to run each part standalone to avoid catastrophic failure mid gig.
A 4 channel standalone unit would be awesome, but it's gonna end up being pretty big and heavy... But I guess compared to a coffin with TTs it will still be small and light.
@@chadnliz2k11 Well a 7inch touch screen is industry standard all around the world 🥳 😙💁♀️ So I must say it is nice knowing may way around a 7 inch touch screen when I am hopping from club to club and all I need is a USB 😂
I'd love to see a tutorial on techniques to fluidly mix in cdjs through the line-in. The whole using the main channel confuses me, when I see there's a hi/low/volume for the line-in channels. Maybe even how to utilize the aux with a 3rd, and using the bass cut switch/trim knob for mixing? You seem to be the only one really using add-ons! Liked and subscribed :)
I will try and post something on this. It really comes down to being able to beat match by ear. It can get a bit confusing when you have each channel fully loaded and are switching back and forth but nothing too hard to grasp if your used to 4 channel mixers.
"get a decksaver....worth their weight in gold" FACT and TRUE. a decksaver might seem expensive until you watch as a cat jumps onto your rx2 while being chased by another cat which triggers a chain reaction causing a vase, a shoe, and a cdj-200 all to make contact with the top of the rx2 but it's fine cause you made the correct decision and ordered a decksaver.
Yeah I'm really glad he said this, cause I didn't know they existed lol. Got a nice Odyssey case for mine, but need a desk saver for day to day use at home.
Alchemix please contact me ASAP I don’t know how to reach you but I need your help getting these virtual decks function with audio output. I can’t get any sound out of the the 3rd and 4th virtual deck in rekordbox

Congrats on cutting the cord man! Ive definitely been able to breathe a lot easier since switching to primarily standalone setups.
so you cant do samples on the key pads? im new to DJing and bout this XDK RX2?

I want to add an XDJ-700 to my XDJ-RX2s, can I just use the aux and still use it as a stand-alone with no need for a laptop or desktop device?
Yes, they could be routed through the AUX or the LINE IN on either channel for independant operation of each deck.
Alchemix pm me!
wait how did you made it so that u can use serato with the xdj?? a dj splitter its called?
Serato or any DJ software. "DJ Splitter Cable" $10-15 on eBay/amazon.
Alchemix so the dj splitter is basically the 3.5mm aux cable? How will serato recognize mi xdj though?

Track filter functions and use?!
You can chose both in Kuvo when exporting to USB and on the hardware, Genre , BPM, Key, Artist, Track name, Album, ETC.
Nice garage!
Nice setup man, I love my DDJ SZ2 because its 4 channel

you fuckin serato scrub 😅😅😅😅
Yeah, may as well have a SZ2, a 7 inch touchscreen is not a selling point

RX2 or DDJ1000? the decision is killing me...
I bet they'll finally drop an RX4 now that the Prime 4 is out. Id almost say hold off until we see what Pioneer responds with...
Just ordered RX2...
You're gonna love it! Still the best standalone on the market in my opinion.
@@alchemix206 and lots to learn bro..a mission ahead of me

So can you change the "phono/line/deck" switch as you mix? Total newb here :)
@@NickBirge Yeah you can change source selection on the fly and it will be right where you left it when you switch back to the RX2.
@@alchemix206 awesome, thanks so much
what USB's/ flash drives do you recommend?
I just use sandisk primarily but I have some random and cheap ones too. As long as its FAT formatted it should work well.

Add it into the cost of any piece of gear you buy, It's the closest thing you can have to a single payment lifetime insurance policy!
