  • 2024 K2 Instrument Snowboard (same tech as 2023 board): www.curated.com/products/9358...
    The K2 Instrument is the master of dynamic turns and deep days. This wider, stiffer deck is volume shifted with a directional profile, early taper, and deep sidecut underfoot to enhance precision and performance on groomers, hardpack, and powder. Traditional camber combined with Carbon Fiber stringers throughout the board offers riders easy turn initiation and heightened pop and responsiveness. A Bambooyah Core and Sintered 4000 Base maximizes the Instrument’s durability and guarantees its integrity with a 5-year warranty. For riders who seek spontaneity and uniqueness in every run, the K2 Instrument is here to slice, dice, and dominate the entire mountain.

    Interested in this board to replace my 164 Mid Wide Rossignol Krypto....seems like it does everything my old Rossi was good at, and more....

    I feel like I'm in between sizes on this. 6'2", 185lbs, sz 10.5 boot. 157 or 160? I feel like it leans more to the 157 being volume shift but that seems small

    Nice job kooks! I’m sure no one will notice the footage of the K2 Antidote inserted into a review of the K2 Instrument. Lol! Curated - what a joke.

    I'm torn between the Instrument and the Passport. I do like getting in the trees in-between runs, off in the ungroomed chunk zones, yet love carving up green groomers (no park action for me). I've been on a 164 rossignol krypto for years now, and am looking for a modern replacement for my rather 'long' (it's long) in the tooth rossi. I'm an older rider (54y, 5'-11, size 11 boot, 210lbs), yet know how to work a board in nearly any situation that doesn't involve park stuff. I hate any trace of toe/heel drag, so I'm looking for a wide model board. Passport or Instrument? 160cm 'ish size? thoughts?

      You probably already bought what you want/need but I’d go 163 for the instrument or a similar width passport. Personally I think the passport turns a little too fast for my old school riding style.

    • @jokermtb
      @jokermtb Год назад

      @@ElValuador I ended up on a Passport 159 Wide. I was previously on a 164 mid-wide Rossignol Krypto Magtek board (for years), and get what you're saying about 'old school riding style' - I'm quite old school, as i snowboard like a skier. That said, I too was a bit skeptical going shorter, much shorter than my 164, but the new shapes and increased surface area of these new modern boards more than makes up for the lack of length, and you use far less energy throughout the day to turn the freekin thing. Probably the biggest surprise I've found on my 'short' passport. It's a nice change not to have to work such a huge plank anymore.

    • @ElValuador
      @ElValuador Год назад

      @@jokermtb Yeah, for me it’s the modern construction, technology and quadratic sidecuts that make the biggest difference. The passport is the quickest turning snowboard I’ve ever ridden but I prefer more traditional shapes like the instrument. Luckily, I’ve been able to buy a nice quiver in the off season for a huge discount.

      @@ElValuador So interesting people's perspectives - as I don't think my passport is that quick turning, but it's very easy to initiate a turn without doing much...kinda like having power steering

    • @ElValuador
      @ElValuador Год назад

      @@jokermtb Right. Quick turning/turn initiation but not the tightest turn radius. I prefer the turn initiation of traditional/smoother radius boards. I do think modern snowboard tech is amazing regardless.

      @Bobby Chadderton I’ve had one day on my 157 instrument in crappy conditions. I’ll test it proper this weekend. Funny you mention excavator. Probably about to buy 154. Can’t decide over 2022 with better core and base vs 2023 with new core downgraded base or niseko pleasures. Any help be great :)

    Maybe the coolest snowboard paint job ever in the 22 Peter Sutherland instrument to the ugliest graphic ever. Why?

    • @jayeye4798
      @jayeye4798 Год назад

      I found and bought the '22 instead of the '23 mostly because no tech has changed, slightly cheaper, BUT hate to say it, I couldn't ride the '23 with the bottom sheet pepto-vomit graphics. Just can't. I think the the top sheet is way better in person, though.
      Anyways, the PS horizon graphics are captivating when hanging in the lift line or staring at it at home thinking about the next ride .

    • @jayeye4798
      @jayeye4798 Год назад

      @@KurtG85 yes. The Peter Sutherland (PS) top sheet green/black graphic is a sliver of a sphere's horizon. The horizon cuts across the short direction of the boatd. Black being space/atmosphere. Bottom sheet is the same except purple/white.
