I have watched SO many impossible vs beyond taste tests and have had them both myself because im a vegan that really misses the taste of meat, and this is the most comprehensive amazing video that i have seen on it. I have looked at the packages and watched tons of videos about them and still didnt know some of the differences you mentioned. Thank you for this great video!
Thank you so much 😊 my goal here was to inform!
That’s awesome 😎
For meat taste, go for the Impossible meat! It's amazingly close.
@@SomeOrangeCat the Burger King one on the grill is sooo good!!
@@RCrystal34 Oh yeah! I do try to eat less meat, and that's my fast food go to for that.
I had the Burger King Impossible Whopper and literally thought they gave me a regular beef burger the first time I tried it. Wild.
Same, I've had it sometimes and I have to double-check.
@@mona9008 I wish they would offer a vegan cheeseburger!!
@@sarahdee374 Yes!! That sounds so good!!
Sometimes the workers there do make errors .. happened to me multiple times
@@Supapowar that's exactly what we do.
Impossible all the way! I can eat it without condiments but not the Beyond.
Same! Sometimes I just eat it plain
Weird. I love both, but I enjoy eating Beyond more. I have to season my Impossible burgers for them to taste anything but dry and bland. The main thing that keeps me eating Impossible burgers is that irresistible beefy aftertaste that lasts about 30-60 minutes after eating. Best aftertaste ever.
I like the Impossible burger better. Tastes more like an In n Out burger
agreed!!
That is good to know, Sydney because I have not tried an In n Out burger but I wanted to. I enjoy the Impossible one the most!
@@andreaexceedsrubies if you want to make a In n Out burger, add mustard to the top and bottom of the meat as you cook it. Thats how In n Out does it.
#CocksOutForCardano
You need a real burger lol
I'm team Impossible. It is super creepy how much it looks, bleeds, changes color, smells, and tastes like meat, but I'm impressed. I'm mostly plant based, so it's a nice treat once in a while.
It's close enough to the real deal to fool people like me. XD
First time.I eat impossible was at a bar in OBX. I went home super paranoid no matter how many times the waiter told me it was not real meat
I like Impossible too. I can't get past the "cat foody" smell of Beyond Meat.
@@SonyaLCH I agree, especially while it's cooking it smells kinda gross. 🤷
@@katiehemstreet8939 because it is lol
Next comparison: Cheese shreds - vehicle for the shreds must be a quesadilla to judge taste & melt
Yes, yes, please make a cheese comparison video, I eat quite a bit of vegan foods and want to go vegan for health reasons. However I am a cheese lover and would like to know which vegan cheese taste & melts like traditional dairy cheese. Also the best vegan cheese for macaroni & cheese, thanks so much🤗👌
Yeessss!
Health reasons but you still eat cheese which is insanely unhealthy?
I've tried so many vegan cheeses and didn't like any of them so I definitely want her to do this.
Ohh yes... I've been using Nabati lately which is so good I eat it out of the bag!
My only issue with Beyond is that there's a lingering aftertaste. When I think about it I only remember that aftertaste but with Impossible there's no recollections of an 'off' taste.
YES!
Same for me. I tried both and I only got an aftertaste with Beyond, not Impossible.
Beyond stinks.
When they first came out my roommate and I are beyond a ton cuz we were so excited. After eating burgers like 5 days straight for dinner we both realized the lingering aftertaste is kinda uncomfortable. It also makes you weirdly sluggish, way more than a traditional burger would. I still eat Beyond Meat and enjoy it, but not in such huge quantities. I like being able to make food at home that doesn’t harm animals. It’s such a great product!
Check to see if your experience was with the NEWEST version of Beyond. They just rolled out version 3, and biggest changes are they removed the funny smell and aftertaste. (Haven't tried it yet myself.) That being said, I was a Beyond person until about a year ago when Impossible finally came to supermarkets and Burger Kind. I was hooked on Impossible from my first Whopper and unless there was an Impossible shortage in my area, not sure that I would ever go back to Beyond! HOWEVER, I do love Beyond's breakfast sausages, links and pattys. Both are very good.
I enjoy them both but find Impossible to be so much more versatile. Beyond Meat has such a distinct taste. Delicious in a chili or other smoky kinds of applications but Impossible is much more convincing as well as useful in a variety of applications.
this is exactly why I dislike the Beyond Meat I love adding my own spices and style and with that, there's not much you can do. The smokey flavour is stucked in.
i agree. i don’t like the taste or texture of beyond meat. i wasn’t a fan but impossible foods sort or creeped me out when i first had it 😂.
Beyond meat taste like Worcestershire sauce
I clicked on this so fast. I definitely know the difference! Impossible is my favorite while Beyond Beef is my husband’s favorite.
The impossible burger is the best!! My mom uses it to make the vegan version of her ground beef recipes and people can never tell!! It’s my go to 🤤 literally eating a dish with it today 🤣
Thank you for the reviews love! Really helps us with shopping for them 🥳❤️
I actually LOVE Beyond Meat's sausages. I buy them all the time. Love using them in biscuits and gravy, Italian dishes, throwing in the oven with bell peppers and potatoes. SO GOOD
Agreed! My daughter loves impossible and I enjoy it too but I love beyond meat’s links and patties for breakfast and their sausages!
Yes!!! Impossible wins the beef battle for me but the beyond brats are a fantastic pork substitution
They’re not “ SO GOOD” 🥴 lol, they’re just better than the other shitty fake meat products
You should compare “Just egg”, vegan egg (follow your heart) and tofu scramble!
Love the series. For me I think I lean impossible more at most restaurants but I enjoy beyond nearly as much.
Add a small spoon of flower to Just eggs, that will be it more consistency. Love it!.
I love how much you all get it:
The impossible is the winner if you're trying to make a meat version but
I like beyond better!
Love this format for videos! Hope you keep doing these!
Thorough video and I appreciate the effort went into this review! Awesome 👏
I like them both equally. I’ll buy whatever is cheapest when I need it. 🤗
I always cut Beyond burger in half and flatten it in a bag before cooking, so it's more like fast food place burgers. You get double the number, plus I prefer them like that, so it's a win-win. Also I make them in the style of a popular fast food chain place "whopper", which has a mayo layer on the top bun with lettuce and tomato, and the burger, ketchup, and 'raw onion rings' on the bottom bun, with or without gherkins.
Love that you did this comparison!
Loved it! I would love to see more videos like this. Thank you.
I’m personally not a beyond meat fan I can complete tell when something is beyond meat, I am an impossible meat freak!!! I love impossible to me it tastes better than real meat, 10/10 , beyond meat for me is a 5/10 only would eat it when I have to
Yes beyond has a weird undertone and gives me indigestion.
@@RavensWingTarot yes!! It also smells pretty bad when you are cooking it 🤢
@@nataliamauricio3175 OMG me 2! I love all there other products, but the beyond beef has this really weird flavor and smell. I can't eat it, I almost want to throw up eating it.
I think I like the impossible better, because it has a subtler flavor and I can season it myself. The flavor of beyond is very distinct, and I'm not too crazy about the smell and lingering aftertaste. But they both make a good burger.
Love this series! Please do more videos like this, Candice!!🤗
Great video! Love the taste test format! You inspired us to try ourselves over the weekend. Being newly vegan (two weeks and counting!), we liked the Impossible burger better, but have NO COMPLAINTS about the Beyond meat. Informative, fun and entertaining!! Thank you so much...we love the Edgy Veg!
Hi Harley! 🤗 I prefer the cooking videos but these kind of vids are good for a change of pace. Bottom line is we want you fully engaged, stimulated and happy!!!
Can't wait for them to get cheaper. So good
LOVE these videos comparing vegan products sooo much!!! They truly help me with my shopping for those products, so please keep making them. Hugs and kisses to that cutie patootie fur baby, Harley!😁
LOVE those kind of videos!!!!!!
You should compare several of the vegan cheeses. Miyoko, Violife, Daiya, Follow your Heart, and Chao would be a great video. Not sure if you can get all those brands in Canada but we got em here in the States.
That’s a good idea, she could try them both cooked and out of the package to see how well they taste and perform.
@@lucianas4919 yes! A melting test would be crucial.
best vegan cheese i could find so far is Earth Island...Daiya is awful...yet to find one that really melts well though...daiya ice cream is very good though
While they both make really good burgers, there is an aroma to the beyond burgers that really gives it away, so I prefer impossible if it is available. However, the beyond sausage products are amazing, and I’d get them every day of the week.
Yes! Love the hot Italian brats!
The Beyond smell is almost a turnoff for me, but I do like the flavor. I've only used Impossible as a ground in pasta, "beef" patties, etc. and I prefer the texture over Beyond. However, the Beyond hot Italian sausage is in a league all its own!
I totally agree. I like the beyond sausage, but the beyond burger smell makes me gag.
@@taggartra Beyond meat smells like cat food when it's cooking. Tastes ok when done but leaves me burping for days. I prefer the impossible meat big time.
Wow, really great video. Congratz!
We did the same taste test in our house! It was so fun! I'm an impossible burger fan, because I truly dislike beetroot. I can taste it in the Beyond burger and it ruins it for me. But my family likes both, but it turns out Impossible won out for everyone in the end. We season ours and it made a WORLD of difference! Meatballs, burgers, Taco's, and the house favorite, Sloppy Joes, are all made with Impossible burger now! 😊
love it!! Thanks for sharing!
I deeeefinitely would know the difference! I love both but I think there is definitely a distinct taste between the two!!!
Yeah. One of them tastes like an actual burger and the other like something randomly cooked up in the lab.
Beyond is my sister's and I favorite!
my sister's and my fave....no hate.....my sister and I love it
I definitely wanna see more vids like this!!
Yes! Love this series!
I am obsessed with both of these and the Target in my area just started selling Impossible meat. Restaurants here in NY have both but it seems that Impossible is harder to find. Completely agree you MUST season the Impossible meat, Beyond can be cooked straight out of the package.
Another thing about Impossible - in the United States the regular price has dropped here (Alabama) to $6.99 for the block Candace is showing in the video. Last week Winn Dixie had it on sale for $4.99!! I read that the Impossible Company has asked retailers to drop the price. Publix has also dropped the price, but I’m not sure if they dropped it to $6.99.
Here in NC I've been getting it for around $3.80 on rollback at Walmart. It's crazy! It was $9.99 when it first came out here.
Hi. How many burgers would you get from one pkg?
@@sarahdee374 I get 4 burgers from one package.
@@melaniegee thanks so much, the price isn't too bad then.
@@sarahdee374 Not at all. Idk where you live, but here Publix has it buy one, get one occasionally. And starting today Winn Dixie has Beyond Beef buy one, get one. I’m like a human sales paper. 😂😂
love this content queen
It was a great video. Like the honestly of the video.
Thanks for this video Candice! 🍔 As I am also in Canada, I only tried Impossible meat recently and it made me ill 🤮, I suspect it was the heme (as I haven’t had beef in over 18 years), but I can eat Beyond Meat no problem. So I’ll definitely be sticking to Beyond Meat. 👍🏼
I can’t wait for NotMilk to make its way to Canada for you to try. Here in the States, you can get it at Whole Foods and Imperfect Foods. It is now my favorite plant based milk.
Same here!!
I haven't heard of that brand before. What is it made from?
@@OhBabyItsEva pea protein
Here in Brazil it's already easy to find NotMilk in any supermarket. I loved the taste. It reminded me of something between cow's milk and Nestlé Cerelac.
Edit: It's been a while since I've had cow's milk. But at the time I tried it, I liked NotMilk SO much more than cow's milk, tasting them both SxS.
@@mojang6940 there's only 2 places in the States where we can get NotMilk....Whole Foods and Imperfect Foods. I live in rural America, so no Whole Foods for me, but Imperfect Foods delivers to my area.
I haven't had cow's milk since high school, and I'm in my mid-40s now. The first sip of NotMilk triggered the memory of dairy milk, and in my head I felt like it should make me sick. But it didn't. I can't tell you how much I love a bowl of cereal again in the morning.
I feel passionately about this video and channel! 💕👍🏼
Great video! Hi Harley ❤️
I like the beyond burger. The impossible burger smells more "bloody" to me and that kind of puts me off. Then again, I'm a long term vegan so beef smells yucky to me. Tbh I'm not crazy about either of them and would prefer a spicy black bean burger.
same here.. the impossible one kinda freaks me out and id still eat it over real meat any day but the the fake blood thing ehhh
ME TOO!!! I said the same thing last night. Black bean burger is better than any other burger alternative and the impossible burger just grossed me out.
I’m the same way. Impossible blew when they went for that dead beef smell when you cook it. I rather have our kitchen smelling like plants from Beyond than death from impossible. Team Beyond all the way.
Same! I love both but I’m starting to prefer veggie/ black bean burgers.
Beyond smells like cat food while it's cooking. I like Impossible.
For burgers I tend to choose Beyond, but for meatloaf, you must try Impossible! OMG so delicious.
Great idea! I used beyond for a meatloaf and I nearly puked 🤮 Now I must try it with impossible.
No....impossible meatloaf..gross..a STR8 GMO.product..100% geneticly modified...sweet earth awsome grounds..is where its at. NEVER IMPOSSIBLE. FOR NOTHING....
@@chronicstories some people don’t mind GMO foods. Honestly, I am strictly vegan for the animals, I really could care less if I benefit from this lifestyle/diet... I just couldn’t sit back and condone the mistreatment of animals any longer.
Informative, appreciated.
LOVE this series!!!! Please make more like comparing sliced vegan cheese or something. Also team beyond!
I like the Beyond Burger better as the seasoning is good, but it has to be cooked well. Otherwise, there's a weird aftertaste and scent, that is off-putting.
Smells like cat food
@@Mr.MacMan Similar to that, sure.
I totally prefer the taste of the Beyond Meat burger over the Impossible burger. Only issue is that it is really heavy and doesn't digest super well for me, unfortunately, so I end up being Beyond Bloated lmao!
It does the same to me.
I love that you said this because NGL all of my poops from when I ate the beyond burgers patties always came out weird and green and just not fully a good enough hardness and brown like always... So I'm like damn girl me three!
Ive found this problem disappears for me if I mix both beyond burger patties together and then separate them into 3 patties. The suggested serving size is just too much
@@LEOIAMLEOONRUclips Kudos to you for being open and honest about the quality (or lack thereof) of your bowel movements. (Im not trying to be funny, BTW). It's relevant to the discussion)
I am sometimes left feeling awkward when I try to talk about the benefits of diatomaceous earth, which can clean you out. (look it up). After a month of having a tablespoon daily, you will lose 3+ pounds of excrement form you intestinal system.
Here in Brazil we only have the Beyond Meat that a single big supermarket is importing, and it's crazy expansive: almost R$100 (Reais), that is USD18.
BUT if they are getting closer to the expiration date there's a really hidden small market that sells it for R$12,00 (USD 2,21), so that was always how much I paid for it ! LOL!
Every dog I've ever had is OBSESSED with french fries! Love it!
My sisters dog loooooves them
Same!!
I'll eat the Impossible if Burger King is my only option at the moment. But I prefer the taste of, and the cooking of, Beyond at home.
I went to Burger King for Impossible Burger. It tasted fuel-like. Fairly gross. Wouldn't eat another.
I had an Impossible burger like a week ago, and I seriously thought they accidentally gave me a normal beef burger! I was so scared and was staring at it for like 10 minutes inspecting it before I knew it was Impossible. It's wild since I'd eaten them many times before.
Why scared? I'm genuinely curious.
I felt the same way when I had the Beyond burger.
@@LadyBovine Eating carcass isn't a pleasant realization.
@@shin-ishikiri-no I heard this also. They say there putting human compost into the plants. Most farms are owned by Billy goat??? Is this true?? (Bill g@te$)

Very interesting results!
Yes. More of these!
I like the beyond for burgers, and I use impossible as grounds like in a beefy mac and cheese. I've found the impossible to be so meat like that it weirds me out as a burger. Love the comparison video!!
Saame
Agreed - impossible is more versatile to use in pasta sauce or anywhere else you might use ground beef as the grounds and not in a burger. If that makes sense lol
Totally agree! I always buy beyond patties for burgers and then the impossible ground meat as a substitute in chili or pasta etc. If you want to feel like you're eating real meat, then go for with impossible, but I don't really care about that - I just think the beyond burger tastes better overall, imitation or not.
Oooohhh this hair though. Yes girl! Redhead club.
Muffin says Hi Harley!! Looking forward to trying Impossible in northern Ontario.
Love taste tests!
Hi Harley! 💕🐾
Impossible is my fave. But we can only get it at one fast food place now. We had a restaurant where I live that had it. But it burned down recently.
Beyond beef is far batter. Impossible is actually gross to me
I enjoy the Beyond more for a burger/sandwich but I prefer the impossible to use as substitute meat for sloppy joes, tacos, lasagna ect. I feel like because impossible
doesn't have the pre-season flavor that it can better absorb other seasonings and sub out better. Also our Whole Foods here about 2 months ago started carrying the
small Beyond breakfast links, they are so good. If you try them I highly recommend almost over cooking them it helps the flavor profile. Great info for first time
impossible/ Beyond eaters.
Many of us are looking to put meat, fish & dairy in the rearview mirror. It’s hard to know what vegan products are best without some help. So, yes! Definitely keep going with this format. Thank you so much!
I'm happy to share my thoughts!
beyond meat is okay on the stove but it’s really best cooked on the grill (the smoke from the grill makes it change into a more realistic burger color)
Agree completely!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do the Gordon Ramsey vegan steak recipe! I want to see you do it and whether you think it's worth the time.🥰😊
Another great video! Appreciate the education component prior to the taste testing.
I like impossible better but I think it’s a good thing that each product is different… gives people more options.
I like that we have so many options
Impossible all the way for the taste! (except for the GM thang) Hey Harvey! Love the taste tests!
I like both, though I tend to favor the Impossible patty.
However, taste is dependent on how you season the patty.
I've tried it plain vs seasoned and the seasonings definitely give it a closer taste to an actual beef burger
good point!
I prefer beyond because I think it just has a better flavor. But I eat A LOT of impossible whoppers lol
Same, it's easily accessible when on the road
Impossible Whoppers are so good though!
@@rapa2894 and if you add your own cheeze n mayo..or bbq sauce even better!

Thanks for this! Now I’m definitely going to try impossible foods. It’s so funny - I’m in Toronto as well, and I haven’t eaten meat in so long that the OG Harvey’s veggie burger tastes amazing to me 😂 all these new products are mind blowing
Impossible is my favorite. Beyond is what I buy when Impossible isn’t available. My non-vegan partner can not stand the aroma of Beyond while it is cooking so much so that he won’t eat it with me anymore. Impossible wins in our house
Hi Candice, I like the Beyond Meat better! Blessings & love to ALL, Piper
I have tried them both. I think that they are both very good. I give a slight edge to impossible (I generally use them in making a faux meat sauce for baked ziti).
Great video and breakdown....I don’t eat a lot of faux meat and I know I’ve had one or another of these at a restaurant....maybe two or three times....but haven’t bought it at the market. From the look of them, I’m way more inclined to buy Impossible Burger.... Thanks for putting this together and all the comparisons and info sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I will eat the beyond meat burger if I have to but I’m definitely an impossible meat person. For whatever reason, the beyond burger just taste so weirdly sweet to me and that’s not what I’m going for if I want to have a burger
The Beyond Meat smells like cat food when it's cooking. I can't get past that. I prefer Impossible.
That is the exact terminology my boyfriend used when I made a meatloaf for us with beyond meat a few years ago. Lol CAT FOOD! It was The first time trying it for both of us, and although he liked it when he ate it and said it tasted just like meatloaf, I hated it and had to doused it with A1 sauce and put it on a bread roll just to get through it. Just, ick. Never again. 😖
😩 omg
i love this kind of content
The best part of both is that there is no guilt!!!!! Nobody had to die for me to have a meal! 🤗💖 The best part ever!!!!
I haven't had beef in almost 30 years. Trying both of them freaked me out. In terms of taste, I prefer the Impossible Burger and my girlfriend, who eats meat regularly, prefers that one as well. I did notice that I got a headache when I ate the Beyond Meat. I initially thought it was just a coincidence so I tried it on a few different occasions and had got a headache each time.
Am curious, why you think that happens
Concerning your question as to whether Beyond Meat is Kosher or Hallal, I can't speak for Hallal, but Beyond Meat is sold in Israel and certified Kosher.
I like the Impossible best. We can find it, 2 patties, for 4.99 in our supermarkets. Great video.
Wow! My opinions on the Beyond and Impossible were the same as yours. I will say that although I prefer Beyond as a burger, I find that I prefer Impossible in “casserole” type dishes. Cheese comparisons next please -like which cheese do you prefer best on a pizza. Thanks 😊👍

ahhah nice! Happens to all of us... trust me!
I still remember going to a grocery store in Toronto and being completely awestruck by the variety of choices. You guys have it so good lol but at the same time it's a good challenge for me to be able to cook things that I know are probably more available everywhere and hopefully to do a recipe book one day.
I'm so grateful for the options we have!
I have a 16 mo old Briard who eats anything he sees me put on my plate except salad greens. Burgers of any sort are a treat! Thanks for this video!
ive tried both foods and as a non vegan I like beyond much better based on taste and charm amazing video as always Candice! x :) -effi
I ordered an impossible burger at a diner and had them check TWICE they hadn't gave me a meat burger. I just didn't believe it, I really thought they made a mistake.
If someone gave you one of these and you didn't know it wasn't meat, you just wouldn't suspect anything. It really really tastes like meat. It's incredible.
Such a great video! We are big impossible fans at our house. I like to add Asian Zing sauce to my burger with lots of lettuce and some green onion. We also put ground impossible in homemade crunch wraps, chili, spaghetti and tater tot casserole :)
Sounds so good!
Thank you so much! I stopped eating red meat about 6 months ago to better my health and this looks amazing! 🤤 can’t wait to give it a try
Hope you love it! There are tons of amazing veggie burgers out there
I made my own of each burgers and I have to say both are good; however, since it’s trying to go for a burger, it has to taste like one too. Therefore, the one that tastes more closer to a real burger is the impossible burger and in fact, it tastes so much alike like a real one
The first time I tried Impossible burger I (internally freaked out🤢) had to ask the waitress if she made a mistake and put in an order for real meat, she assured me that it was the impossible patty. I actually felt nauseated bc it was too real for me, so I had to actually psych myself to eat it 😂 I have bought it and cooked it at home to help me desensitize to it 😂 once I was able to get over the super realistic look, texture and taste I would say that Impossible is better. Still love beyond patties and their sausages 🥰🥰🥰
Yes, More videos like this please
We have both Beyond & Impossible burgers monthly, from the grocery store. I can barely tell them apart. I've been Vegetarian for 30 years, & I think I'd agree with all the Edgy Veg people, that too meaty is not a good flavour for a lot of healthy eaters
i'm definitely on team impossible! i also stay away from beyond meat burgers because i'm not a fan of the after taste which i feel stays in my mouth the entire day 😬
I love Beyond for burgers and Impossible for things like chili, tacos and other places you’d typically brown and crumble ground beef.
I appreciate the detailed comparisons outside of the taste. Not many people bother to touch on ingredients, price and such and, to me anyhow, that’s important information.
I just lost my 20 year old cat who would freaked the ef out anytime there were fries. Like fighting you to climb in the bag freak out. It’s insane how strong a 9 lb cat can be when he’s after fries 😂
Aww I’m so sorry. It’s been a few months so hopefully your sense of loss has diminished somewhat 🙏🏻🐾
I love them both!
