With the recent announcement of the upcoming Legendary Armory (date unannounced) Legendaries are even better. When the armory hits your legendaries will be applied to your entire account. That means if you get Legendary Heavy armor, every Heavy armor character you have or will ever make after that point will have Legendary armor available for use in their equipment menu. No more swapping gear between your toons!
Well well well it took almost 1 year but here we are finally some news about the legendary Armory. Literally ran back to this video when I heard about the Armory. 😂 Time to grind my Legendary Armor.
For the envoy armor sets, the ones from raids, you will actually get TWO full sets of ascended armor! The set from the first achievement, Envoy Armor 1: Experimental Armor, is not required for any further steps of the achievements. Therefore, you can get that set in any weight you want, it doesn't have to be the weight class that you want to get the legendary set in. Only the set you get from Envoy Armor 2: Refined Armor, is the actual precursor for the legendary armor, and needs to be the same weight class as what you want the legendary set to be. For example: I'm making a set of legendary heavy armor for my guardian with this method. However, I used the first set of ascended armor to get a set of ascended light armor for my necromancer. For the second set, I got heavy armor: this is what I will need to throw in the Mystic Forge to make the legendary set.
@@warchiefballer8809 This is unique to the raid armor set, due to how the ascended gear is gotten. The first achievement you do, gives you a set of ascended. That set can be whatever weight you want. But "the first" armor you get in pvp/wvw is the precursor you purchase from the vendor after unlocking the purchase option with the reward track. The first raid armor set is really just a bonus on the way to the actual precursor armor set.

To those who are a bit overwhelmed and aren't ready to commit to crafting legendary armor, pick one or two builds that are solid for your class and just craft out full ascended gear. It's very quick and much cheaper. I'd recommend you then do legendary stuff little by little over time. That's what I've done at least. If you play alts of the same armor type regularly and want to play more than 2 builds on the fly, then I would say legendary armor is worth it. You definitely don't need it though, which is quite nice.
Very much agreed! I also suggest if you’re going to start making legendaries I suggest folks start with the trinkets. Amulets, Rings, Accessories, and Back Pieces all can be worn by all armour types and used for every build. Especially if you’re bouncing between armour types, this helps maximize your use of them.
Since I have been away from GW2 for 1 to 1.5 years thought this would really help refresh and show me some things and it did just that :) Kudos you Global Icon and Brand Ambassador another well known and fun guide accomplished.
I want to add, i find PvP to be the best place to go for easy leggy armor. If you don't care about the flashy prestige and just want convenience, then do ranked PvP for it. The reason is that you can pvp on your own schedule, and, its all you need to do; just play tons of ranked. For WvW and raids, you need other people to be online to make good progress, and raids have the additional barrier of learnung the bosses, if you are new to raiding. I cant reccommend PvP enough for the full time worker or student who needs to game on their own schedule.
Been playing 2months now. Still mastery rank 27 and only two mounts. Literally no good gear, no crafting, never raided, never tried fractal.. Just playing pvp and wvw. Seems like I'll just continue pvping.. :P
MaxSeidel1 Pretty much this. Decided to learn Heal brand when I got to T3. T1 introduces you to the fights, T2 teaches the core mechanics if you somehow missed them by that point, T3 says "git gud scrubs" when you learn pugs need a healer to survive getting hit by Adds/instabs/missing a machanic or 2. From what I hear T4 is easier cause people know what they're doing, but my butt needs more ascended gear before that can happen

I always feel like by the time you've acquired legendary items in GW2, you're already burnt out from playing the rest of game since you grinded all the content to get your legendary gear in the first place
@@MuklukRUclips Hahah well it depends on your experience I guess. I mostly play this game alone since my friends don't like it and the guild is mostly veterans who play with each other. So for me it would be more fun to have those kind of items and then experience the game, than that I play with friends in Raids/Fractals/etc to get all the required items. That's also an aspect I loved about GW1 with only lvl 20 cap and easy to get max armor. Once you had that, the game was only just starting ;) But I do understand that people need something to grind for in the long run. It just seems like a colossal task to me just to get 1 legendary item.

@@mexcore14 yeah, you're right, he indeed said 15 MC per item. However he put it in a contrast against legendary weapons like if legendary armor would be cheaper on MC or something. It would be like puting it in a way where you like to build only 1/6 part of legendary weapon and you only need 13 MC
A tip to any who want the raid armor, start on getting your tokens now. They take the longest to gather out of any. So while you’re working your ways to unlock the precursors armor, start building up your stack of tokens.
Wow I thought it was going to be an arbitrary stat inflation over ascended armor but yet again anet knows how to do it right and design it to be horizontal progression in the best way possible. I love that it swaps out for any stat combo on the fly. Opens up so many avenues for possible builds!
They really do this very well. I'm a "returning player", and it feels quite good to see that the things I spent time on 5 years ago still contribute to my character (those two ascended pieces aren't suddenly "vendor trash"), while at the same time there's always new progressions to work on as well.
farm some things each day, you will get it in no time believe me. If you like wvw or pvp or raids do the game mode you like a little bit each day if you can and you will gain a tone of the things you need to craft them.
I really wish that they'd go the route of most FFXIV relics and have quests/stories to obtain them, often times being a long grind but also not just being some long chart of "Craft this crap"

Appreciate the video but this is absolutely daunting. As someone who's always flirted with the idea of taking GW2 more seriously, stuff like this is a massive deterrent.
Legendary stuff is a long term goal that you chip away at, don’t make the game a chore just kinda work on one part at a time on the side. It’s legendary, if it was easier to get then it wouldn’t feel like a massive proud accomplishment when you finish it.
this are things to take it slow. Just by playing one of those 3 game mods you will be farming the things you need. With time you will have almost everything you need to craft them.

@@MuklukRUclips I downgraded my hopes and expectations for an ascended armor set, at least for now. I'm trying to get the WvW ascended set that can be upgraded to lengendary. But the ascended set is still very far ahead, so for now I still only focusing on that, and don't think about the leggies

Make a spreadsheet or a document to keep track of where you are and what you need to do. Trust me, there's no way in hell I can remember this without taking notes.
The most annoying part about Raid Legendary armor is the achievement. It's not like it's too easy having to get into raiding in the first place in this game. It shouldn't be such a scary thing that people can eventually earn it by being successful here and there.
Tip: for Provisioner Tokens I placed a character (a low lvl even, ran from guild hall) next to the merchant at the beginning of Auric Basin. He sells 1 Token for 1 Auric Ingot, almost for free. 1 per day and I have over 100 now.
I'm not even planning to make an amor legendary, but still watched it since I was curious lol! Would be nice if there's a fractal version of armor leggies since I do fractals more than the other game modes. I can prolly get wvw but it'd be long. I haven't even finished all of the exotic version of triumphant armor lol! I don't even raid or pvp >
Even after reading the wiki and watching guides I'm still fucking lost. The sheer number of components required to craft these is stupid, on top of an already complex crafting leveling system.
In terms of Mystic Clovers you can make 5 pieces of legendary armor for the same amount of clovers as one weapon. However armor is less flashy than weapons, so it depends on what you are looking for. If you want something flashy to show off that makes you smile, maybe do a weapon first. If you want as many items as possible with the ability to change stats, then armor first might be a good choice.

Sorry that I'm late, but I am curios: Do I have to fully unlock the Legendary Crafting mastery in order to craft anything legendary or is that only for weapons? The name implies any kind of legendaries but the subtext for it only talks about legendary weapons so its a bit confusing.
Which one would you reckon is the least expensive to get started on? Havent really dedicated myself to neither of the 3 methods showcased, so it would be a fairly fresh start for all. Great info in this video btw!
all of them require nearly the same "bought" materials, so I would recommend doing the game mode you enjoy the most because you're going to be doing a lot of it :P
Question; when the legendary armory comes out, will you be able to wear the same legendary armor set on different characters, but with different skins? Or do you have to constantly transmute them still?
This has now been answered and you can transmute Legendary armor to any look that you have unlocked for free, no transmutation stones needed, and you can have a different look on each character
so, you only need to buy one kind of ascended armor in WvW part? so not upgrade 3 times? example exotic > ascended > triumphant ascended? but exotic > ascended will do for precursor?
PvE leggy armor tip: Precursor armor achievements nets you two sets, the initial and final. You need the final one to craft a leggy set (DO NOT transmute any precursors!), but the initial one is not needed. However, initial and final unlock the same skins, so you should probably use the first to unlock an armor type you do not want to craft the legendary armor on. Did I miss anything? I do not raid, so this is just off the top of my head.
Just to correct this in case anyone gets spooked, you CAN transmutate any precursor including armour and it will be fine to make into a legendary. You should NOT change its stats through Mystic Forge.
i always sold shards of glory because i just couldnt get throught the stuff of the vendors, i only have 250 space for them and no bank storage free for them. they gave okay money, but knowing now what they are used for, the money i got for them was trash
i have a question about the pvp precourser, is it enough to just buy the ascended item from the vendor or do i only need the exotic armor piece from the glorious armor box or do i even need both ?

Question: can you use the full ascended armor set you get by completing Envoy collection I on any character? You don't need to use these items to craft the legendary armor right? So, you use the armor set you get from Envoy collection II as precursors for the legendary armor?
As a new player, this is INSANE... Realistically, when should I start working towards this type of armor and weapons? Been playing for a couple weeks and just got my first character to level 80. Also looking to PvP at some point. When should I start trying that? It's seems VERY complicated.
Again, think of it as a long term goal. For example: whenever you get the chest of loyalty from login rewards, pick the clovers, save those up. That alone is helping you finish your next legendary. When you get T5 and T6 crafting materials (claws, fangs, bones, etc) save em up, that helps finish your next legendary. It is very easy and cheap if you do it slowly over a long period of time. It is more effort the shorter you try to make it. On the PvP question: when you first queue for pvp you will be unranked and be fighting other unranked players. NO ONE will know what they are doing. Just accept that you will die, do your best, try to learn from it. You are welcome to ask questions to me specifically in game, at stream, or in my discord and we can try to help you out! Once you've played enough unranked to be lvl 20 in the pvp menu you can queue for ranked and start saving up the currencies for pvp legendary armor. Every match you play gets you closer to that goal!
I would say only get legendary gear if you swap builds a lot. For example, if you do fractals and open world pve content, you only really need 1 set of gear (in most cases), so legendary wouldn't be worth the hassle unless you want a special skin. Having played since release (with several breaks throughout), the only place I found myself really needing legendary gear is in WvW. This allows me to swap stats, runes and sigils for my elementalist or guardian to fill whatever role my guild may need. It's also especially useful for swapping build if you want to run with a Zerg, roam, or havoc. If you like competitive play, I would highly recommend you find a guild to play WvW with and as you play, each reward track will give mystic clovers. The reward tracks take roughly 3.5-5 hours depending on the boosts you have up from guild, infusion, consumables or whatever. Plus wvw gives you pvp in all sizes, from 1v1, to 10v10 or even 50+v50+v50 if all three teams fight for a piece of land. Anyways hope this helps a bit, and welcome to the game, hope you have a slot of fun :)
it’s worth mentioning that you don’t need to ever get legendary gear. You can get kitted out in exotic very inexpensively and you will be able to kill people with that gear. Then you’ll work on ascended for a minor stat increase. At that point, no armor exists with higher stat values, nor will any in the future. You get lego armor for status or to swap, but it’s worth mentioning that you could just craft 2 ascended sets instead.
@@akhsdenlew1861 I actually hated swapping legendary gear between characters due to loosing all my saved gear templates each time, so I never did. With the legendary gear update coming soon, I'd now almost recommend skipping ascended gear and going right for the legendary.
So maybe i misunderstood but for the legendary raid armor, do you have to do that entire process for each piece? Or does it convert the precursor set into legendary? Also if you used transmutation charges on it, would it lose the effect?

You can do pvp, wvw, or raids to get legendary armor, they have different appearances, everything else is the same. They come in light, medium, and heavy versions so make sure you get the version you want to have. (you can get all the version given enough time)
No, and I know this for a fact cause I've made 6 pieces of it BEFORE I ever hit top 100. Now theres another graphic of pvp ascended armor that you may be thinking of that does require rating.
WvW armor is by far the biggest hassle, since the amount of raw time needed to max your weekly reward is much higher than the other methods (like around 18 hours a week), and you need to do it consistently for 21 weeks MINIMUM. PvP armor you can break down into just a few matches per day, with calculations differing on whether you win or lose, by far the least intensive of the three. Like for real, they'd have to TRIPLE the weekly skirmish tickets possible to even come close to the ease of PvP armor. Seriously, just get your backpack and accessory and stay away from WvW.
there are a few wvw players u know.. there's a lot of players walking around with over 1.000 rank in there... Players with 3.000 rank, or even more. For those players, this leg armor is probably already sitting in their currency. it depends on what u play.

The way world vrs world rewards are handled ensures a lot of people who might be interested simply won't play it because of the massive time commitment needed to make a lot of the stuff you can get from it. People who have been in the mode for 3-4 years probably already know what they can get for their time, but for a newbie looking to set shiny gear, WvW is incredibly difficult to get into.
@@Rinin. Easy? No. But there is a difference between difficult and braindead-grindy. Just look at grindscale collection. People dont hate it because its difficult, but because its just dull.
Class doesn't really matter. The longest part of getting pvp legendary armor is the league tickets, which you get from playing ranked games. You get those tickets faster if you win than if you lose but you do get them eventually either way. So play what you are most comfortable with.

I'm going to make a checklist of materials for each legendary I will working on and keep tracking what things I have and which I don't. And after that video I'm sure I will rather do PVP legendaries first than WvW or Raid,because I don't have the knowledge and gear for Raids,WvW is slower than PVP in the other hand.

When you finish the raid achievements you get one full set of ascended gear (light, medium, or heavy) and the ability to craft more. So if you turn your free set into legendary, youd use the recipes to craft more ascended pieces, then you can upgrade those to legendary for the other armor sets. You do not need to do the achievements again.
Even if I am bad at the game and a casual player, is it possible for me to earn the PvP set? Would that be the easiest grind for a solo player? I find build crafting to be the most fun aspects of the game and it'd be great to do it in PvE rather than just the PvP lobby
You have to play ranked for the tickets, but there is no rule that you have to be high ranked! You can win lower ranked matches and just do your best and slowly chip away at it!
Since no one replied after 4 months, here's the answer for posterity: GW2 doesn't have PvP gear to grind, or levels. You can pick the stats you want and use the skills you like from the get go.
Nope, I display them all in the video if you check it, but they all 3 look different. Also, the PvE set "transforms" when you enter combat, so it is a little flashier.

@@665foro I got the pvp legendary armor specifically for the stat changing, and just changed the appearance to what I wanted it to look like. Now I can use it in every game mode. And when the legendary armory comes out I will have legendary armor on all my medium armor characters instantly.
Hey, I dont know if anyone see´s or answers this one but i wanted to ask if it is better to start the Armor or the Weapon because as i saw it is easier and not so timeeating like the Weapon (wvw or pvp wise) im relativ new to the game (not even a year) and i played it really intensive so i wanted to start building up my endgame because first i leveld up all my alts and geared them up a bit so i can play them and see who i want to Main for the time. And now that i have my Main i want to start the project
So for the wvw full legendary set, u need 6600 tickets but u also need around 2k more for the whole triumphant set? I mean i had it bought on my ranger and was using it, but after i decided to go condi ranger i had to change my stats, so the armor is now different... Do i have to completly rebuy the whole triumphant set or what? If that's the case then u need a lot more than 6600 tickets. And since those tickets are very time gated, it takes minimum 6 months to get the leg armor assuming that u get full diamond boxes in wvw EACH week.
If you have the armor (even if you transmuted it to something else) it still counts. However if you mystic forged it to something else so the base item is different, it may not count anymore for the recipe.
Hello I have a big question concerning the lengendary armorer achievement which says that it needs 18 unique legendary armor pieces. Can this be done using wvw or pvp armor pieces as well or it is only from raid armor pieces?
From the Wiki: Notes The Legendary Armorer achievement is only advanced by crafting Perfected Envoy armor from raids, not by upgrading PvP or WvW ascended armor to legendary. this might sounds like a super dumb question but I havent found the info I need on it and I want to know it before I decide! I am playing quite a lot of PvP at the moment so PvP Legendary would be the obvious easy choice for me. All the items required are very clear to me except the Armor piece I need. The "Glorious Hero's armor" can only be earned placing high in tournaments lets say thats too hard of an aim for me! :D I hate the visual of "Ardent Glorious armor" and I like the "Mistforged Glorious Hero's armor". Am I correct to assume that depending on which ascended piece I use my legendary will be different as well? The picture you show in your guide is the Glorious one could only get by placing in tournaments, right? So for all us peasants that cant do that reliable we are stuck with the other visuals correct?
With wvw and pvp you can use the "normal" ascended armor or the "extra shiny" ascended armor to craft your legendary. What many people do is craft it with the normal one, then later if they unlock the shinier variant they just transmute it (they don't have to craft the leggie a 2nd time. I personally don't use the graphics of any of my leggie armor, I just enjoy the stat changing convenience.
new player here, would people say its worth it to just start playing the boost i get with the game since i dont understand any of the game mechanics or level a charecter
I would recommend you at least try the classes you have an interest in before using your boost on one. I wouldn't want you to boost a character then decide in a few days you like a different class more. Additionally, Guild Wars 2 is not one of those games that "starts" when you hit max level. Theres good stuff to do through the entire experience, so there really isn't a rush unless you wish to.
I would recommend that as well :) I started after the game came out and had never played guild wars 1 and I just chose my profession based on name. I leveled him up and the whole time thinking why did I choose this thing why....I ended up liking thief tho :)
never boost your first character. The game is pretty good at teaching itself to the new player while leveling. If you boost, you end up with a character with everything unlocked and no idea how it work, where to go or what to do. If you level on the other hand, you have a pretty good idea about your class, you have seen a good chunk of the world, felt challenged a good portion of the time and learnt to spot things like 'buffs' or markers.
Is it possible to craft more than one set of PvP/WvW/PvE legendary armor? like can i craft a PvP set of heavy armor and another light armor set on the same character?
you can make as many as you desire. Caveat: the wvw armor set will take you several weeks, of ca 16h wvw per week to finish. You can only earn 360something skirmish tickets per week, you need at least 1090 for the legendary insight - and you have to get the diamond 6 chest for the full amount. In short: if you dont enjoy wvw, it really, really sucks. On the other hand, if you do enjoy wvw and play it a lot, you might have a huge stack already and can make it almost instantly.

It seems a bit crazy to think about legendaries when you can literally craft 50 ascended weapons for the same cost as 1 legendary weapon and roughly the same with armor, + u get ascended armor from just doing raids + strikes and fractals. Its really a "nice to have" thing for when you dont have anything else to work on lol
hi muk, the video is very informative and entertaining, but you should highlight the fact that it is not possible to get legendary if you use an ftp account, since some components are only sold to you if you have HoT, before getting the expansions I had the goal of completing the pvp set "the hard way" and it was very hard to realize after 3 weeks of work that I couldn't get some pieces no matter how hard I tried. :C

To those who are a bit overwhelmed and aren't ready to commit to crafting legendary armor, pick one or two builds that are solid for your class and just craft out full ascended gear. It's very quick and much cheaper. I'd recommend you then do legendary stuff little by little over time. That's what I've done at least. If you play alts of the same armor type regularly and want to play more than 2 builds on the fly, then I would say legendary armor is worth it. You definitely don't need it though, which is quite nice.

I also suggest if you’re going to start making legendaries I suggest folks start with the trinkets. Amulets, Rings, Accessories, and Back Pieces all can be worn by all armour types and used for every build. Especially if you’re bouncing between armour types, this helps maximize your use of them.

I want to add, i find PvP to be the best place to go for easy leggy armor. If you don't care about the flashy prestige and just want convenience, then do ranked PvP for it.
The reason is that you can pvp on your own schedule, and, its all you need to do; just play tons of ranked. For WvW and raids, you need other people to be online to make good progress, and raids have the additional barrier of learnung the bosses, if you are new to raiding.
I cant reccommend PvP enough for the full time worker or student who needs to game on their own schedule.
Been playing 2months now. Still mastery rank 27 and only two mounts. Literally no good gear, no crafting, never raided, never tried fractal.. Just playing pvp and wvw. Seems like I'll just continue pvping.. :P

T1 introduces you to the fights, T2 teaches the core mechanics if you somehow missed them by that point, T3 says "git gud scrubs" when you learn pugs need a healer to survive getting hit by Adds/instabs/missing a machanic or 2. From what I hear T4 is easier cause people know what they're doing, but my butt needs more ascended gear before that can happen

I always feel like by the time you've acquired legendary items in GW2, you're already burnt out from playing the rest of game since you grinded all the content to get your legendary gear in the first place

So for me it would be more fun to have those kind of items and then experience the game, than that I play with friends in Raids/Fractals/etc to get all the required items.
That's also an aspect I loved about GW1 with only lvl 20 cap and easy to get max armor. Once you had that, the game was only just starting ;) But I do understand that people need something to grind for in the long run. It just seems like a colossal task to me just to get 1 legendary item.

A tip to any who want the raid armor, start on getting your tokens now. They take the longest to gather out of any. So while you’re working your ways to unlock the precursors armor, start building up your stack of tokens.

Wow I thought it was going to be an arbitrary stat inflation over ascended armor but yet again anet knows how to do it right and design it to be horizontal progression in the best way possible.
I love that it swaps out for any stat combo on the fly. Opens up so many avenues for possible builds!
They really do this very well. I'm a "returning player", and it feels quite good to see that the things I spent time on 5 years ago still contribute to my character (those two ascended pieces aren't suddenly "vendor trash"), while at the same time there's always new progressions to work on as well.

Appreciate the video but this is absolutely daunting. As someone who's always flirted with the idea of taking GW2 more seriously, stuff like this is a massive deterrent.
Legendary stuff is a long term goal that you chip away at, don’t make the game a chore just kinda work on one part at a time on the side. It’s legendary, if it was easier to get then it wouldn’t feel like a massive proud accomplishment when you finish it.
this are things to take it slow. Just by playing one of those 3 game mods you will be farming the things you need. With time you will have almost everything you need to craft them.

Making legendaries is something I have pretty much given up on. It’s so much to remember. I wish it was a little more streamline
Make a spreadsheet or a document to keep track of where you are and what you need to do. Trust me, there's no way in hell I can remember this without taking notes.
Use the wiki and just work on one step at a time.
The most annoying part about Raid Legendary armor is the achievement. It's not like it's too easy having to get into raiding in the first place in this game. It shouldn't be such a scary thing that people can eventually earn it by being successful here and there.

Ad infinitum being the only legendary fractal weapon is a bit disappointing since I like the look of it.
Even after reading the wiki and watching guides I'm still fucking lost. The sheer number of components required to craft these is stupid, on top of an already complex crafting leveling system.

So, do you recommend crafting a Legendary Armor set before Legendary Weapons?
In terms of Mystic Clovers you can make 5 pieces of legendary armor for the same amount of clovers as one weapon. However armor is less flashy than weapons, so it depends on what you are looking for. If you want something flashy to show off that makes you smile, maybe do a weapon first. If you want as many items as possible with the ability to change stats, then armor first might be a good choice.

Do I have to fully unlock the Legendary Crafting mastery in order to craft anything legendary or is that only for weapons? The name implies any kind of legendaries but the subtext for it only talks about legendary weapons so its a bit confusing.
Usually u need to be rank 100 to make the shiny pvp armor. And wvw need to be I believe 1800-2000. And those take months of grinding.

all of them require nearly the same "bought" materials, so I would recommend doing the game mode you enjoy the most because you're going to be doing a lot of it :P
I think buying ascended WvW armour requires being lvl 2000. Which is way way tougher than pvp

Yes, my first set of legendary gear was from pvp, I use it in all game modes.
Question; when the legendary armory comes out, will you be able to wear the same legendary armor set on different characters, but with different skins? Or do you have to constantly transmute them still?

This has now been answered and you can transmute Legendary armor to any look that you have unlocked for free, no transmutation stones needed, and you can have a different look on each character
another way of gaining Mystic Clovers; you can get 2 per day in the Fractal Lobby from a vendor. Costs 1 mystic coin and some fractal relics each.
You can also farm them in drizzlewood coast now!

Yes. You can use legendary armor in PvE no matter where it came from. Same with all armors.

PvE leggy armor tip: Precursor armor achievements nets you two sets, the initial and final.
You need the final one to craft a leggy set (DO NOT transmute any precursors!), but the initial one is not needed. However, initial and final unlock the same skins, so you should probably use the first to unlock an armor type you do not want to craft the legendary armor on.
Did I miss anything? I do not raid, so this is just off the top of my head.
Just to correct this in case anyone gets spooked, you CAN transmutate any precursor including armour and it will be fine to make into a legendary. You should NOT change its stats through Mystic Forge.

You can change stats any time you are out of combat but you cannot change medium legendary armor into light legendary armor ( for example )

As a new player, this is INSANE... Realistically, when should I start working towards this type of armor and weapons? Been playing for a couple weeks and just got my first character to level 80.
Also looking to PvP at some point. When should I start trying that? It's seems VERY complicated.
Again, think of it as a long term goal.
For example: whenever you get the chest of loyalty from login rewards, pick the clovers, save those up. That alone is helping you finish your next legendary. When you get T5 and T6 crafting materials (claws, fangs, bones, etc) save em up, that helps finish your next legendary.
It is very easy and cheap if you do it slowly over a long period of time. It is more effort the shorter you try to make it.
On the PvP question: when you first queue for pvp you will be unranked and be fighting other unranked players. NO ONE will know what they are doing. Just accept that you will die, do your best, try to learn from it. You are welcome to ask questions to me specifically in game, at stream, or in my discord and we can try to help you out! Once you've played enough unranked to be lvl 20 in the pvp menu you can queue for ranked and start saving up the currencies for pvp legendary armor. Every match you play gets you closer to that goal!
I would say only get legendary gear if you swap builds a lot. For example, if you do fractals and open world pve content, you only really need 1 set of gear (in most cases), so legendary wouldn't be worth the hassle unless you want a special skin.
Having played since release (with several breaks throughout), the only place I found myself really needing legendary gear is in WvW. This allows me to swap stats, runes and sigils for my elementalist or guardian to fill whatever role my guild may need. It's also especially useful for swapping build if you want to run with a Zerg, roam, or havoc.
If you like competitive play, I would highly recommend you find a guild to play WvW with and as you play, each reward track will give mystic clovers. The reward tracks take roughly 3.5-5 hours depending on the boosts you have up from guild, infusion, consumables or whatever. Plus wvw gives you pvp in all sizes, from 1v1, to 10v10 or even 50+v50+v50 if all three teams fight for a piece of land. Anyways hope this helps a bit, and welcome to the game, hope you have a slot of fun :)
it’s worth mentioning that you don’t need to ever get legendary gear. You can get kitted out in exotic very inexpensively and you will be able to kill people with that gear. Then you’ll work on ascended for a minor stat increase. At that point, no armor exists with higher stat values, nor will any in the future. You get lego armor for status or to swap, but it’s worth mentioning that you could just craft 2 ascended sets instead.

@@akhsdenlew1861 I actually hated swapping legendary gear between characters due to loosing all my saved gear templates each time, so I never did. With the legendary gear update coming soon, I'd now almost recommend skipping ascended gear and going right for the legendary.

You can do pvp, wvw, or raids to get legendary armor, they have different appearances, everything else is the same. They come in light, medium, and heavy versions so make sure you get the version you want to have. (you can get all the version given enough time)

No, and I know this for a fact cause I've made 6 pieces of it BEFORE I ever hit top 100. Now theres another graphic of pvp ascended armor that you may be thinking of that does require rating.

WvW armor is by far the biggest hassle, since the amount of raw time needed to max your weekly reward is much higher than the other methods (like around 18 hours a week), and you need to do it consistently for 21 weeks MINIMUM. PvP armor you can break down into just a few matches per day, with calculations differing on whether you win or lose, by far the least intensive of the three. Like for real, they'd have to TRIPLE the weekly skirmish tickets possible to even come close to the ease of PvP armor.
Seriously, just get your backpack and accessory and stay away from WvW.
there are a few wvw players u know.. there's a lot of players walking around with over 1.000 rank in there... Players with 3.000 rank, or even more.
For those players, this leg armor is probably already sitting in their currency.

People who have been in the mode for 3-4 years probably already know what they can get for their time, but for a newbie looking to set shiny gear, WvW is incredibly difficult to get into.
I rather do wvw for months than to deal with raids, and pvp is toxic as fuck

Class doesn't really matter. The longest part of getting pvp legendary armor is the league tickets, which you get from playing ranked games. You get those tickets faster if you win than if you lose but you do get them eventually either way. So play what you are most comfortable with.

Yes, the achievements are a prerequisite to unlocking the ability to obtain the armor via pve

I'm going to make a checklist of materials for each legendary I will working on and keep tracking what things I have and which I don't. And after that video I'm sure I will rather do PVP legendaries first than WvW or Raid,because I don't have the knowledge and gear for Raids,WvW is slower than PVP in the other hand.

When you finish the raid achievements you get one full set of ascended gear (light, medium, or heavy) and the ability to craft more. So if you turn your free set into legendary, youd use the recipes to craft more ascended pieces, then you can upgrade those to legendary for the other armor sets. You do not need to do the achievements again.

You have to play ranked for the tickets, but there is no rule that you have to be high ranked! You can win lower ranked matches and just do your best and slowly chip away at it!

GW2 doesn't have PvP gear to grind, or levels.
You can pick the stats you want and use the skills you like from the get go.

I know this is very late but by my experience most people start for doing one weapon. You can start for the armor thow if you want.

I mean i had it bought on my ranger and was using it, but after i decided to go condi ranger i had to change my stats, so the armor is now different...

If that's the case then u need a lot more than 6600 tickets.
And since those tickets are very time gated, it takes minimum 6 months to get the leg armor assuming that u get full diamond boxes in wvw EACH week.
If you have the armor (even if you transmuted it to something else) it still counts. However if you mystic forged it to something else so the base item is different, it may not count anymore for the recipe.
Hello I have a big question concerning the lengendary armorer achievement which says that it needs 18 unique legendary armor pieces. Can this be done using wvw or pvp armor pieces as well or it is only from raid armor pieces?

this might sounds like a super dumb question but I havent found the info I need on it and I want to know it before I decide!
I am playing quite a lot of PvP at the moment so PvP Legendary would be the obvious easy choice for me. All the items required are very clear to me except the Armor piece I need.
The "Glorious Hero's armor" can only be earned placing high in tournaments lets say thats too hard of an aim for me! :D
I hate the visual of "Ardent Glorious armor" and I like the "Mistforged Glorious Hero's armor".
Am I correct to assume that depending on which ascended piece I use my legendary will be different as well?
The picture you show in your guide is the Glorious one could only get by placing in tournaments, right? So for all us peasants that cant do that reliable we are stuck with the other visuals correct?
With wvw and pvp you can use the "normal" ascended armor or the "extra shiny" ascended armor to craft your legendary. What many people do is craft it with the normal one, then later if they unlock the shinier variant they just transmute it (they don't have to craft the leggie a 2nd time. I personally don't use the graphics of any of my leggie armor, I just enjoy the stat changing convenience.

new player here, would people say its worth it to just start playing the boost i get with the game since i dont understand any of the game mechanics or level a charecter
I would recommend you at least try the classes you have an interest in before using your boost on one. I wouldn't want you to boost a character then decide in a few days you like a different class more. Additionally, Guild Wars 2 is not one of those games that "starts" when you hit max level. Theres good stuff to do through the entire experience, so there really isn't a rush unless you wish to.
I would recommend that as well :) I started after the game came out and had never played guild wars 1 and I just chose my profession based on name. I leveled him up and the whole time thinking why did I choose this thing why....I ended up liking thief tho :)
never boost your first character. The game is pretty good at teaching itself to the new player while leveling. If you boost, you end up with a character with everything unlocked and no idea how it work, where to go or what to do. If you level on the other hand, you have a pretty good idea about your class, you have seen a good chunk of the world, felt challenged a good portion of the time and learnt to spot things like 'buffs' or markers.
Is it possible to craft more than one set of PvP/WvW/PvE legendary armor?
like can i craft a PvP set of heavy armor and another light armor set on the same character?
Yep, you get it from a mystic forge recipe, not from something that can't be repeated. You should be good.
you can make as many as you desire. Caveat: the wvw armor set will take you several weeks, of ca 16h wvw per week to finish. You can only earn 360something skirmish tickets per week, you need at least 1090 for the legendary insight - and you have to get the diamond 6 chest for the full amount. In short: if you dont enjoy wvw, it really, really sucks.
On the other hand, if you do enjoy wvw and play it a lot, you might have a huge stack already and can make it almost instantly.

He forgot a solid point, you can extract sigils/runes from exotics/ascended items quite easily with extractors, and there is an unlimited one aswell.
The unlimited extractor costs as much or more than a legendary.
around how many pvp games should you play to get one piece?
you can make 2 pieces per ranked season (it needs to be ranked)

Hey Mukluk! Can I craft the mistforged chestpiece only and get the tentacles effect? And then craft the 5 other pieces in the cheaper alternative? That would be awesome if so.
I THINK so. I have not done that myself but I'm pretty sure if you preview the chest piece you see the tentacles.
@@MuklukRUclips Yeah, I tried that. It works. So I think I'll be crafting the Mistforged Chestpiece, and the other parts walmart version. Nice "hack" lol.

Farming WvW for Skirmish Claim Tickets is pure torture
It seems a bit crazy to think about legendaries when you can literally craft 50 ascended weapons for the same cost as 1 legendary weapon and roughly the same with armor, + u get ascended armor from just doing raids + strikes and fractals. Its really a "nice to have" thing for when you dont have anything else to work on lol

hi muk, the video is very informative and entertaining, but you should highlight the fact that it is not possible to get legendary if you use an ftp account, since some components are only sold to you if you have HoT, before getting the expansions I had the goal of completing the pvp set "the hard way" and it was very hard to realize after 3 weeks of work that I couldn't get some pieces no matter how hard I tried. :C
Oh my, which items? I was unaware there were any with those requirements for the PvP route.

Gift of legendary prowess and dedication require different items from the wvw gifts, I'm afraid I'm still unclear as to which items you are referring to.
