This is a great guide. I am a long way off of this. I only just got my first Ascended weapon and used the forge for the first time to change the prefx for one I wanted. I do quite like how complex things are though.
Note at 10:30 In case you want too see the glowy animations, you can click on the option "wielded" which will change the character preview into combat mode showing the glowing looking "wings"
Something to note: the preview for the sublime chest isn't bugged. You do have to be in combat, or at least have your weapons drawn, for the tentacles to appear, but there's a "wielded" checkbox on the preview window so you could preview your in-combat look
All I do these days after a decade of gw2 is wvw so this was helpful. Shit, it took me 8 years to do world comp and I had hardly started crafting before that. CHeers man.
Something to note that I wish I had known- At [4:53] he mentions the (armorsmith) grandmaster marks- these come very slowly. Can get grandmaster shards to convert to marks. You need 10 of them for a single mark. You only get 4 per week from Pip rewards. BE SURE TO HAVE A 500 PROFFESSION and start making the marks early. It takes materials you can only make once per day and need 2 of them.

Great guide! I didn’t see anyone else mention it, but when you are previewing the armour, you can select the “Wielded” box in the bottom left to see what it would look like in combat. This works for legendary weapons to see how they’ll look when equipped, as well as how the envoy legendary armour will transform!
Excellent video, I just decided I want to start working on a full light armor set with the introduction of the armory (and maybe more after but let’s not think about that too much yet lol). I have a long road ahead of me here but at least I know what I’m even supposed to do now :)

Really glad you found it helpful! As for other guides on the matter, as far as I know, you can't get Legendary From Fractals, and I really don't know anything about PvP to help with that. I do however plan to make another guide on getting Legendary Amor from PvE Raids. Although this will be much further down the line. I am sorry 😦

This video convinced me not to go with this flashy version of legendary gear. Wanted to do so but now I can see it's pointless and I would have to farm more currencies. Guess today will give it a go and craft my first light armor gear 🥳
The most important thing is that you DO NOT change stats in the mystic forge. So, if you selected Berserker from it already, I don't think it will be a huge issue. But if you want to be 100% safe, I'd recommend just saving the precursor in the bank until you are able to use it to craft the legendary piece
I think the WvW/PvP for getting Legendaries is the most suited for a casual like me. Because I can progress anytime I like. Not like the PVE method where I need to find people to play with, team up, plan, play on the time your teammates are active, etc etc. Too much prep time for a filthy casual like me 🤣
oh no ball dark energy is so expensive i just got depleted gold from full ascended i think i wont be able to get legend armor i prefer legend armor than weapon for easy stat swapping
If you do fractals or raids or any other content that gives ascended rings as a possible rewards, then you don't need to worry about this at all. You'll get a decent amount just from salvaging the extra ascended rings you don't need

The guide is not only for the chest piece. You get the entire set of legendary armor the same way. The only thing different about the chest is that there 2 versions of it, one with extra shiny stuff coming out of the back, which costs more. And the second version doesn't have the extra shiny stuff and costs less.
any tips in how to get in WvW the massive amounts of Memories of Battle required? In the chests there is always less memories than tickets but in all the crafting the numbers are always reversed.. I know they can be bought from the TP, but farming PVE to buy them will cut the time available for WvW
I am afraid there is no easy way to get the memories of battle. Just do WvW as often as you can. Or farm some gold with anyway you want, and buy them directly from the trading post. I can however tell you that I used to do A LOT of WvW, and ended up having stacks and stacks of them. Sadly I sold them at some point as I never planned to craft Legendary. But with the introduction of the Armory, I started working on them, and I am also struggling to get the memories just like you
It is going to be time consuming indeed. But with the Armory, Legendaries now are honestly not a luxury item anymore. It's EXTREMELY valuable that is it's almost a must have item

The WvW Legendary Armor is not the best in terms of fashion sadly. The difference between Mistforged and normal version is that it glows just a little bit more. The only piece I'd say is worth it to get as Mistforged is the chest piece, which I preview in the video and you can see exactly how it looks. So, I think if you care about fashion, you'll still need to change skins.
Gift of battle as a reward track was the most annoying idea ever. I miss just being able to go in and get one. I mean you put in the time already so it’s not like you didn’t earn it but nope now you have to do a damn reward track 😒
My Skirism Bag have Testimony of Jade Heriocs, and the Leng Comm War Razor wants Testimony of Desert Heroics, your box has Testimony of Heriocs, any suggestion to buy Cetificate of Heriocs from the vendor?
In any Borderland, look for Heroics Notary Vendor. In the first tab you'll find an option to buy Desert Heroic using your Jade Heroics. I hope that was clear enough. If you still couldn't find it let me know
Great guide as usual, I love me some WvW "commandering", good to see my favourite mode get some love on the channel! I do have one question though: if you transmute the mistforged armor to a different skin, do you still get the glow tentacle effect while in combat? Because I'll be honest here, I don't really enjoy the full armor skin all that much, and if I'm going to transmute it away, only to have it lose the glow effect, I am probably better off with the non-mistforged version, don't you agree? I haven't started crafting any of the pieces until I was certain of these aspects (hard to find concrete evidence online).
I am not sure exactly whare you referring to since there are no legendary weapons you can get from WvW. So if you can clarify your question a bit more, I may be able to help you
It's hard to give you exact numbers. But I would say it will cost about 1000-1500 gold for a full set. To get enough tickets for a full set, you'll need a total of about 22-23 weeks, assuming you'll get the maximum amount of tickets every week. However, Anet mentioned that in the near future, they plan to increase the limit of the tickets per week, which will reduce the time it takes to get enough for a full set.
It really all depends on your own time spent in WvW. But assuming you will get the Diamond Chest from the The Skirimish Reward Track every week, it will take you about 5 - 6 Months. Please keep in mind that Anet said they will increase the amount of tickets and rewards we get per week as a part of the new upcoming alliance system for WvW or even before that. So potentially that will be this year
I don't know the answer to that question 100%, but I don't see any restrictions on any of the items needed. So you SHOULD be able to get it even with no expansion.

You can ask anytime you want 👍 You don't need to be rank 500 to get ascended or legendary armor from WvW. That only applies to the Mistforged variant, not the normal variant.
You do not need to be level 500 to craft the Legendary Armor from WvW. It is only required if you want to craft the Mistforged version, and I did mention it in the guide 👍

What's the time line it takes to get the legendary set? What's you experience
So for a full set ill have to get 6 gifts of battle AND 6 of the amror pieces from the reward track, holy moly this is gonna take a while😅
Don't forget Reward Track Boosters. They help A LOT
The tickets take longer than the reward tracks do. If that helps.
Don’t worry about that too much. Collecting all the tickets will take MUCH longer than any of the reward tracks 🤷🏼♂️

In addition to chest rewards, shards drop from getting certain participation levels in a few capture events on tier 3 keeps.

The only way to get the gift of battle is to finish the WvW Reward Track for it. There is no other way sadly

You can select stats. However, DO NOT change stats in the Mystic Forge as this may cause it not to count as a gw2 precursor anymore

The WvW Legendary Armor is not the best in terms of fashion sadly. The difference between Mistforged and normal version is that it glows just a little bit more. The only piece I'd say is worth it to get as Mistforged is the chest piece, which I preview in the video and you can see exactly how it looks.
So, I think if you care about fashion, you'll still need to change skins.
Can 1 Triumphant Box be used to make all 6 pieces of Armor or do you need Triumphant Box for each piece of Armor?
You will need a different box for each piece of armor. So, a total of 6 boxes for 6 pieces of armor

Yes, you can. Just make sure you DO NOT stat swap in the Mystic Forge. I'd even recommend NOT changing skins to be 100% safe.

My Skirism Bag have Testimony of Jade Heriocs, and the Leng Comm War Razor wants Testimony of Desert Heroics, your box has Testimony of Heriocs, any suggestion to buy Cetificate of Heriocs from the vendor?
In any Borderland, look for Heroics Notary Vendor. In the first tab you'll find an option to buy Desert Heroic using your Jade Heroics. I hope that was clear enough.

I do have one question though: if you transmute the mistforged armor to a different skin, do you still get the glow tentacle effect while in combat?
Because I'll be honest here, I don't really enjoy the full armor skin all that much, and if I'm going to transmute it away, only to have it lose the glow effect, I am probably better off with the non-mistforged version, don't you agree?
I haven't started crafting any of the pieces until I was certain of these aspects (hard to find concrete evidence online).
If you transmute it, you lose the tentacle effect. I just tested it myself. And yes I agree with you, I don't think the mistforged is worth it at all
does this work with the WvW ascended weapons?
I am not sure exactly whare you referring to since there are no legendary weapons you can get from WvW. So if you can clarify your question a bit more, I may be able to help you

It's hard to give you exact numbers. But I would say it will cost about 1000-1500 gold for a full set.
To get enough tickets for a full set, you'll need a total of about 22-23 weeks, assuming you'll get the maximum amount of tickets every week.
However, Anet mentioned that in the near future, they plan to increase the limit of the tickets per week, which will reduce the time it takes to get enough for a full set.

It really all depends on your own time spent in WvW. But assuming you will get the Diamond Chest from the The Skirimish Reward Track every week, it will take you about 5 - 6 Months.
Please keep in mind that Anet said they will increase the amount of tickets and rewards we get per week as a part of the new upcoming alliance system for WvW or even before that. So potentially that will be this year
can you get them without expantions?
I don't know the answer to that question 100%, but I don't see any restrictions on any of the items needed. So you SHOULD be able to get it even with no expansion.

You don't need to be rank 500 to get ascended or legendary armor from WvW. That only applies to the Mistforged variant, not the normal variant.
