If you really hate WvW, you can do the daily quest that gives you WvW reward track potion. It takes about 80 potions to fill a path from 0, and each daily quest gives 1 or 2 potion, for a total of 6 per day. Really speeds up the pocess if you want the gift of battle.
Great stuff as always, Muk! Before, it always seemed like a fleeting dream whenever I think about Legendary weapons, now I have two crafted legendaries, Sunrise and Aurora, thanks to your guides Muk! The motivation of doing it in my own pace has really helped me craft two pieces of art.
I felt the same on my unintended journey to build the complete legendary pvp armor set. I would never have thought that I could muster the necessary patience for this. However, because of muk's videos, i became a pvp enthusiast. Since then i have played countless matches simply because i enjoy it so much. To my surprise, I realized at some point that almost all the necessary components had accumulated. This is why i love GW2 so much. Ultimately, it's not about grinding. This game gives me the freedom to enjoy it on my own terms and at my own pace. In the end, when the game comes up with such rewards, it's the icing on the cake for me.
Oh god, that “what one are we building next” hit me uncomfortably hard. I’m reminded of Illidan: The Hunter is nothing without the hunt. Excellent vid Muk
Something they also don't really tell you in most guides. Those Gift recipes, cost you another 80 gold ONTOP of the materials needed to craft them, at least the first time you go for a legendary.
Edit: So unfortunately this method no longer works. You can do the meta twice like I mentioned but the choice chest will only drop from the first bouncy chest. No more point to do it more than once per day. Here's a neat little trick you can do to make getting antique summoning stones easier. Do the Dragon's End meta, but when you're done, don't accept the bouncy chest. Then, go do it again on a different character. You'll have gotten the bouncy chest containing the summoning stone again. This can theoretically be repeated as many times as you can handle in a 24 hour period for up to 12 stones a day. Just make sure you accept the bouncy chests before reset happens, otherwise you won't be able to get summoning stones for the next day.
Gen3 sword was my second-ever legendary and it was actually much faster to get than Twilight, because you kinda get into the groove with legendaries. What helped me A LOT, was the "mandatory fishing" I did for the title/rod, naturally gave me tons of ambergris. Once I started selling excess ambergris, I realized just how much money I was getting (I think like 800g around the time I built the sword). That alone funded the sword pretty much. Fishing henceforth also funded my other legendaries, because it truly feels like the highest amount of gold you can do alone, without highly specialized gear/characters or skills. Can't recommend it enough. All in all I'd definitely recommend an aurene leggy. They look good, the trails are great, the kill effects are fun and you can adjust the theme as they get released (I have kralk on my mesmer, for example). Although the style/skin unlocks are much more unreasonably expensive. 400g for a purely cosmetic change is a tad rough.
TIL lighting lanterns gives you the Gifts of the EOD zones and this is after I already made a Gen3 Legendary! I was getting ready to make more Gen3s and I had my alts do the standard map completion (twice again which I really didn't like doing because those of darn Renown Hearts). I could have avoided that completely! I knew that is method is used in SoTO for the legendary armor but I didn't know it started with EoD. I'm glad I finally watched this video, thanks Mukluk!
Great guide. I chose to craft legendary sigils first because I can use them on any weapon of any quality. Seemed like the more versatile and gold efficient way to me, at least when you have multiple characters.
Holy crap, I KNEW looking up a guide was useful. I just completed all EoD maps and checked what else I need and thought I had to farm additional Lamplighters Badges via additional map completion, as I dodn't notice they were tradable. I even was almost done with illuminating Seitung. Thank goodness I noticed this in time.
I just finished my first gen3 and felt all the feelings described. Something that tripped me up during the process - mystic runestones require a core Tyria mastery to purchase.
Yes, that is currently holding me back. It would be great if the next iteration of videos on legendaries would include a mention of the necessary mastery.
i'll probably make the sword. after i'm done with my current project and the ones after it. making the gen 2 hammer, then all legendary runes, then all legendary light armor, then coalescence, then conflux... _help_
I have exactly the same, started with shining blade now making legendary armor, when i started with armor i thought OMG so much grind after making two pieced im like hmm lets make full leg character That's just addiction xD
Made Aurenes Weight for my Untamed Ranger main shes a power build. I also use Pharus longbow on her given i like to fight long ranged. I noticed this as well using Pharus the finisher the crystal crater appears while using my longbow. Its pretty neat to see the beam of light and the crater. It might show up on other weapons too.
I crafted Aurene's Argument because I loved the pistol. But I also needed money to craft Legendary Runes so I was torn between keeping it and selling it.
I only now noticed that your gloves have a rainbow effect. Is that from the leggy trinket that gives the rainbow aura or something else? I've never gloves with a rainbow effecr
The only bad thing about gen3 legendary weapons is that they're all dragon themed. That doesn't work for everybody. It's not that I think they're ugly but they just don't fit my aesthetic/style, so I won't get any of them and that leaves me with very little to do in Cantha. Gen1 and 2 weapons had something for everyone and I feel and gen 3 is much more one-sided because of the more uniform style/concepts. Again, I don't hate them, in fact some of them are quite beautiful, they're just not for me. The upside: it's good for my wallet lol.
@@leftjedi And they weren't meant to. These were supposed to be more affordable legendaries to facilitate use of the legendary armory while not completely crippling personalization, and fit the lore (since the game's story is finally shifting away from the dragon saga). Anet said they would still work on making unique legendaries, though, but these were spot on for many reasons.
The value of a gen 3 on the TP is way higher than its actual cost in ingredients. Even if you don't want to personally make one for yourself, if you farmed it up and made one and sold it on the trading post instead, you would make a very, very tidy profit. Aurene's Bite, for example, would get you about 1,000 gold in profit. It makes your time in cantha very worthwhile. At the very least, doing enough activities in cantha to buy your antique summoning stones every week from the vendor and selling those is very tasty cash.
Yeah I'm turned down by aurene theme on all gen3 legendaries. Her face is on everything, making them feel weird, hitting your enemies with aurene's head. So I hoard all the mats and sell them on TP for big profit and craft 2x older Legendaries.
The thing that haunts the nightmares of all the people who actually farmed the Ancient Ambergris(me included): "There are few players remaining on this map. Would you like to move to a more populated version of the same map? *You have 3 minutes and 16 seconds to volunteer before the map closes"* *(SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECCCCCHHHHH)*
A thumbs up to players who watch Muk video's only to ear him saying " Mukluk blablablabla the 4th here" and not only for the usefull video itself. Show yourself! :D

Thanks Muk for such an amazing guide, I'll definitely be coming back to this video several times to finish my first gen 3!!
I made my 1st Gen 3 Legendary recently, the Scepter, and you covered this pretty well. I think it only looks like a lot/overwhelming if it is your 1st or 2nd legendary. Having made a bunch of them now, both Gen 1 & 2, I have to say Gen 3 is easier. Mystic Clovers is always the biggest hurdle because I refuse to mystic toilet mystic coins to make them because the drop rate SHOULD BE guaranteed but it SO isn't. I've gotten a Clover drop rate of about 5-10% before and it is Infuriating. Especially on ones that also require a drop of 250 Mystic Coins w/no way around it On Top of making Clovers. However, the gap of waiting for Daily log-in to get me my Clovers does give me time to amass all the other items needed effortlessly. My Leggie Scepter cost me in the end about 100 Gold (+however many 1 gold a week I gave to the sylvari trader dude on the way to 100 ASS). Now what REALLY disappoints me is the Elder Dragon variants. I was so pumped for these, thinking we'd get extra story bits and/or REAL quests like we did for HOPE, or Chuka & Champawat, but no, no no, nay nay! It is just give us crap tons more mats for a skin.... 😑🤨🤔😤 Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! So I've decided I don't care and I'll wait till all of them are out to see if any of them are cool enough to even bother with. So disappointing.... 😞
You can get 1 Antique Summoning Stone daily from Dragons End meta. Also, weekly there is 1 A.S.S. from each EoD strike on challenge mode, so realistically talking another 3 from here. Unrealistically if you do weekly HT CM (what kind of madman are you), you can get 4
I also made Aurene’s Persuasion, funny enough I made it in 2 days lmao, I wasn’t planning on making another leggy weapon but I had majority of the materials needed, I’m waiting for Jormag’s variant so it’s soon named “Jormag’s Persuasion” 😂
Getting ascended items outside of armor is thankfully pretty easy all in all. Living World Season 3 give you the option for a farm to be able to buy ascended accessories. Each elite profession has an achievement for the professions weapon. I went and got two daggers that way for my thief for example. Remember that you can Stat swap weapons and armor at the mystic forge. Guildjen has a pretty deep guide on her site for all the more involved ways to get ascended items. And the hardest thing for getting a legendary is picking the right one to start of course :D
Or you can do silverwaste metas + other fast goldfarming activities and just straight up buy one from trading post which is faster and sometimes more fun.
thanks for the Awesome guide, I have a question if you have time. when you craft it, does it unlock directly into your Armory, or it gives you the weapon into your inventory, then you can choose to use it or not? in 11.11 time it shows it has been unlocked into your account!
heh i still have the precursor chest for the gen 3 legendary i have no idea which one to pic and i wasnt sure how diffucult it would be to get a gen 3 leggy. but after seeing this, its not actually that bad so im gonna pick one that a lot of my toons use ( probs sword i think)
I have gotten SO MUCH mileage out of choosing axe for my free gen 3 precursor, I don't regret it at all. I've still only unlocked 1 of the alternate appearance variants, thanks to research notes being kind of a pain in the butt, but when the time comes to make my next legendary weapon from scratch I'll definitely be considering the gen 3 ones
@@chester1882 Guardian and Warrior but axe is good on almost literally every class that can use it. I also occasionally play Revenant, Ranger, and Necro as well, and one of these days I'll sit down and learn how Mirage works.
How many hours took you to get a weapon? Including all Masteries needed, map completion, stories and everything else? And is it easier and faster to craft gen 2 Legendary weapon or Gen 3? Not sure if would want to craft Nevermore or Aurene's Insight
I have the pre-cursor for Aurene's hammer but I don't use hammer that often (only on revenant pretty much and i already have an ascended one on it). I'm thinking on crafting the greatsword since i have two warriors, a necro, revenant and mesmer and would probably use it more on those. Would you consider it worth it to craft the legendary hammer first, selling it and then crafting the gs? Or go for the GS straight up and save the hammer precursor for another time?
I started playing a couple weeks ago and one of the reasons i decided to get into the game was legendary weapons, and aurene weapons are hands down my favourites, but man it's discouraging to think i felt good about hitting 100g the other day. Will start working on skyscale in the next days, then on ascended gear... Anyway, at this point i wonder if it isnt just easier to farm the couple thousand golds and buy the leggy off the TP.
if you are looking for the weapon that works on the most classes then the one handed sword works for all but one class (the necromancer is the only one that doesn't use a sword)
Variant skins are a new skin unlocked that requires that legendary to be done. Example: if you have the gen 3 rifle, you can unlock the zhaitan rifle variant, and use it whenever you wish ( or not) but you cannot make the greatsword zhaitan variant until you make the gen 3 greatsword
"Should i sell it?" Then i look at the tp fees kkkkk, also thank you very much i did not know i could buy shards of glory from the trading post, so cheers o7
Whenever I see videos about crafting legendaries, I'm always like: spend forever trying to get all that stuff, or work 1 day irl and convert gems to gold so I can enjoy the weapon while playing the game >.>
does anyone know if you can sell your legendary hammer "The Juggernaut" after making it and using it in your builds. Basically, can you sell it at any point in time after making it?
Hey Muk! Thanks for tips. One question - you always say that the stats are the same like in ascended, but attack is better in legendary. Is it give you more to power dps?
Same stats as ascended. The few minor differences are that you can change the stats whenever you like, change sigil (and infusion I think) and they mostly have better spell effects / animations (also free transmute). If you only care about numbers and don't change your build a lot, it's really the same as an ascended (and ascendes are A LOT cheaper to make).
So am I getting this right, I could totally make this rifle without having maxed out huntsman EXCEPT for that one little step, deldrimor steel rifle barrel? 😂
Man....I have played gw2 on and off since it relesed and i still havent even begang to work on a legendary, i feel so noob. But i dont know how i would be able to do all this lol. It is kinda daunting
Mukluk: "getting leggy is Marathon not sprint" Me: watch this In 7 month i Craft all leggy trinket, set of light leggy armor one leggy Rune and one leggy sigil AND iam not done yet.
I’ve crafted almost 20 generation 1 Legendary weapons and one generation 2 weapon, but I’ll have to look at the total cost of crafting a generation 3 weapon, because it looks like there might be more profit that can be made from selling a generation 3 weapon, compared to a generation 1.
I have crafted 5 of them, they have a baseline minimum you have to spend to craft them, but if you farm everything out to craft it, they sell for almost 3k gold so you can make a very large profit.
@@myrtlesnow2397 I've kept all of my crafted Legendary weapons so far, except the 2nd one I made, which was the Trident. I sold that so I could purchase the precursor for the Twilight Greatsword, which I wanted and crafted as my 3rd Legendary weapon. I later crafted the Trident again to keep. I'll probably craft a Gen 3 Legendary pistol, sword, or axe, so I can dual wield them, like I do now with my two Incinerator daggers. There are a couple of the Gen 2 Legendary weapons I also want to craft, just because they look so cool, like the Nevermore Staff, and the Scepter with the flying serpent, or the Focus that make the book and giant hand, but since Gen 2 Legendary weapons are harder to craft and take more time and gold, I'll wait to make those until after I have at least one full set of Legendary armor, and my Legendary trinkets finished.
I'd rather just save gold and just buy it off the trading post. Unless, you really want to get that sense of accomplishment, achievement points, and whatever else it it unlocks from doing it yourself. Oh, and if you don't mind waiting for a while; the prices will drop just like the gen 1 legos did. I got all the ones I wanted at at a nice price.
For new players you need to tell them the developers FORCE you to PVP to get mats for crafts .. originally these were available from a currnency non-PVPers got from achievment chests but this was removed in 2016 after PVPers complained non-PVPers had it easy! I wanted to craft a legendary weapon until I dicovered the PVP gate. :(
It’s so stupid easy though and you don’t have to pvp, just go on a dead map and take camps and kill guards. It’s the easiest thing on this gigantic list.
@unnamed2737 lol I was like what's this reply for. Didn't realize this was from 2 years ago and I STILL haven't tried messing with this. Maybe I should now based on your recommendation 😊
The fact that the gift of battle still comes from only wvw is so idiotic. Literally the only reason i don't go for legendaries. Why would i spend hours on something I hate. Horrible game design.
First, lets acknowledge Noxxi's editing because they spent a lot of time and sanity in this video, second, i still dont know which weapon to claim my free precursor at D:
unless they dont change gift of battle i dont care about getting leggys whatsoever. Not gonna waste hours to play boring gamemode to get one crucial component for legendaries. They should plan ways of getting all leggies by playing all gamemodes. If someone plays only pvp, he should be able to get everything. Simple, but since its anet they not gonna do anything.
Watches for 9 mins.... Yep not ever going to waste all the time and money for these either, i'll just keep making ascended items daily and wear full ascended.

i have no idea which one to pic and i wasnt sure how diffucult it would be to get a gen 3 leggy. but after seeing this, its not actually that bad
so im gonna pick one that a lot of my toons use ( probs sword i think)
I have gotten SO MUCH mileage out of choosing axe for my free gen 3 precursor, I don't regret it at all. I've still only unlocked 1 of the alternate appearance variants, thanks to research notes being kind of a pain in the butt, but when the time comes to make my next legendary weapon from scratch I'll definitely be considering the gen 3 ones
Which classes do you mainly play?
@@chester1882 Guardian and Warrior but axe is good on almost literally every class that can use it. I also occasionally play Revenant, Ranger, and Necro as well, and one of these days I'll sit down and learn how Mirage works.
After making Bifrost, this feels like a piece of cake. I’m three ingredients down in less than two months.
How many hours took you to get a weapon?
Including all Masteries needed, map completion, stories and everything else?
And is it easier and faster to craft gen 2 Legendary weapon or Gen 3?
Not sure if would want to craft Nevermore or Aurene's Insight
for people who don't know, the recipes for the gift of blood, bones, claws etc are 10g each so you'll have to cough up 80g for those nuts
This doesn't seem nearly as bad as the Gen 1's and 2's
New player here, for me it looks like you can only get these materials from the newest expension?
Best way to avoid decision sell or not to sell.. is having not enough money to list the item in the first place :D
I like that they dont need 77 mystic clovers as per gen1 and gen2 legendaries. Will finish Predator and then start crafting the gen 3 staff
I read it somewhere, before gen 3, you need to have whole world completion, but with gen3, you only need EoD maps complete and that's it?
Bro what skins r u using for ur armor ur character looks sick
You can inspect my engineer and look at all my gear here: engineerbuilds.mukluklabs.com
1600g is fine to made the longbow ?
This is the big one! Liking for ye ole algorithm
if you are looking for the weapon that works on the most classes then the one handed sword works for all but one class (the necromancer is the only one that doesn't use a sword)
Yet! Necros will be able to dual wield them
@@kurisu1204 don't care anymore, I have left after the removal of daily logins
Well, tomorrow I start working on Aurene's Might. Wish me luck, I am starting to play again after a three year hiatus!
Gen 3 hammer is hands down the best legendary I wver made, and I've made a few. Best hammer in the game imo
If you build a Variant, is it a new legendary or based on the Aurene one? And if it'sbased on the Aurene one, do you keep both skins?
Variant skins are a new skin unlocked that requires that legendary to be done.
Example: if you have the gen 3 rifle, you can unlock the zhaitan rifle variant, and use it whenever you wish ( or not) but you cannot make the greatsword zhaitan variant until you make the gen 3 greatsword
@@MuklukRUclips Okay, thx for the quick response! :D
If I make a ax can my ranger/warrior pull out 2 legendardy axes to wield?
Great video. This is much easier than making the Gen 1's for sure
You can use the legendary in one hand, and transmute the legendary graphic onto a different axe in your offhand
Yes, I do already have a gen 3 legendary. Yes, I am still watching this video. No, I will not be taking questions at this time
Why?
for mystic runestones you need fully leveled legendary mastery from core game
Is there any reason to go for GEN1 and GEN2 now that GEN3 are here?
Graphics.
Gen 1 and Gen 3 are both the same in terms of function, so you pick one over the other if you prefer how it looks for the most part.
Thank you! Your videos are really helpful for new players :)
Soooo should I sell it? ;D
Ok mukk I m going to work overtime at my job and use credit card thank you for the video though is to much
I still don't have a single legendary Item after 6400 hours played.
Same but more like 1000 hr for me
"So this is college. I didn't miss nothin'!" - Marlon Brando as Carmine Sabatini in The Freshman (1990) 😉😎
Nice.
Rename the video to "How to make Flashbang in GW2"
"Should i sell it?" Then i look at the tp fees kkkkk, also thank you very much i did not know i could buy shards of glory from the trading post, so cheers o7
im on my way to make pistol , might make rifle after if they dont nerf dps mech
Damn. So for Gen 3 you gonna need to grind ALL the content. :O Atleast raids/strikes are not required
make me wonder if i better off just by it off market.
As long as it has not been equipped it can be sold
If you're going to do one just do one small step at a time. Don't try to do it all at once or you will get overwhelmed.
I totally missed the fact that Gen 3 can be sold like Gen 1.
bruh i htink ill just buy the weapon on the tp n save all this trouble lol
I didn't know we could buy shards and memories on TP.........
Mukluk: "getting leggy is Marathon not sprint"
Me: watch this
In 7 month i Craft all leggy trinket, set of light leggy armor one leggy Rune and one leggy sigil AND iam not done yet.
There is no PvP gate, you just buy the Glory items from TP. For WvW Gift of Battle you can just semi afk play and watch Netflix.
That greatsword looks like a toothpick. Why can`t they make something with a blade instead of a damn lance?
I just didn't want to farm gift of battle again.
Ill spend the gold and just buy the weapon. Geezzzz.
I was good until one of the requirements was from doing WvW. Not a fan of PvP so I guess no legendary for me...
Can relate. When i made my conflux, i made sure that i stick to gift of battle reward tracks. Got 10 leftovers and i never bother wvw again
First, lets acknowledge Noxxi's editing because they spent a lot of time and sanity in this video, second, i still dont know which weapon to claim my free precursor at D:
Yeah, you lost me at collecting "whale vomit", Muk. Consequently, this is yet another aspect of GW2 I won't be "enjoying".
Ye anything that force me into pvp i wont do.
its a shame gen 3 legendaries ( in my opinion ) are all very dissapointing compared to gen 1 and 2
I like and comment
ohh lots of work just give me one LMAO
tmw you don't have time to do all of this so you're sinking $35 every paycheck into the game to build up the gold to just buy it
Crying in legendarny wvw armor
unless they dont change gift of battle i dont care about getting leggys whatsoever.
