we sell on eBay. please search " autopan eBay " " gddworldwide eBay " in Google. Or search " autopan Sill Plate " in eBay. You could find it.

Looks like the type i fitted to my Z4. Only problem the cable entry to the unit wasn't sealed. Water got in, it shorted and the wires caught fire.

My 540 came with illuminated ones from the factory. You can’t see the cable on a factory fit so perhaps you could run it some other way.
My factory ones are ‘on or off’ and don’t do the sequential display like yours. They are also a different graphic. Nice touch to the car all the same 👍

I am trying to buy one, but one site says it works with 5 V. If I connect it to the courtesy light, it will be 12 V. I’m confused…

Solder and heat shrink when joining wires much more professional job and looks better than those things you used to join the wires !!!!
why did u cut the wire when u can use quick splices for like 5 bucks

I would have soldered the wires. I have also had good service just back-probing the wires into the connector. I did that when I added extra LED lighting to the trunk.

Great detail. I installed bmw holo on the door. Set of 4 on Amazon. Easy mod but great bmw holo at night. Suggest you do video on that as I wish i would have done and uploaded on here.

Great video. I think I would use wire taps instead of cutting the wires personally. So I've seen people install these, and almost bought them about 100 times. But I was curious how easily they get scratched up. You've had yours about 7 months. Do the plates themselves still look half decent?

Does anyone know how to actually remove the stock sill without breaking it? Every video I have found, they lever it out and break a clip or the sill where it holds the clip in place. Mine rattles and I want to fix it properly.
Why don't you put wire through the holes in the sill?, can it not be pushed through?

I bought this I'm going to make it simple took me 5 min install buy a usb 10 ft from Amazon no splice really 5ft but I go ten to connect other things nice product get alot of compliment

Yes, if its an F30 body style. Should be the same across all the new generation bmws doesnt matter which series.
Where did you buy this from ? I want one for my wrx but I can’t find anything other than AoonuAuto n I’m thinking they seem sketchy . They have nice stuff but I duno . With wiring and Led . If it’s not good stuff it could catch fire or something . Along with other concerns . Neway where from 🤔🙂
I just got mine from them. No problems at all. It's not going to catch fire lol if you think something this simple could catch fire then you definitely shouldn't be doing anything to your car

they will turn on and off when opening and closing the door ?
Victor Graulund automatically turns on and off because it is connected to the foot lighting

Exactly the same as the drivers side!

@@mrdude4433 No worries, if your vehicle is equipped with footwell lighting, wiring will be identical on both sides. Good luck!

Having fitted mine, I found that the lights flicker when the engine is on. I'm guessing you didn't have that problem?
They work fine when the engine is off
you have to connect unlights flicker and you will no longer have a problem, you can buy it on ebay

I think you did a great job! My only concern being a tech for 20 years is where the wire goes under the door seal I would be worried over time it would rub through and short out do you think if you took a cut off wheel and made a small relief cut so it had a pocket for it to sit in? I'm not trying to be rude by any means. Again great job
Or just use heat shrink around it
I've had wires bent over sharp angles in my 78 Torana and they are stiffly bent but still have no wear on them at all

Nope you can leave it on, if you are really concerned about shorting it out just turn off ambient lighting with the button above the rear view mirror by the sunroof switch.

Hi Tecky, any gauge will work just don't go above 24 gauge. You can try to find 18 gauge, that may be more common. The smaller the wire the easier it is for you to run and hide in the trim. Hopefully that helped.

Unfortunately my 2002 540i E39 does not have the footwell lights I have to tap into it somewhere else I guess

Mmm ok & how do they turn on?
The sill lights will illuminate when the doors are opened and goes off when the doors are closed that’s why it’s best to connect them to your interior/ footwell lights
the extension cable DIDN’T reach? we shouldn’t have to splice any wiring (you’re awesome man, solid video!), I’ll pass.
Not sure how I’d order for a 2-door M4 (2015), sure looks like more than 3 min installation

Scooter Craze its wired to the footwell light, so its only on when u open the door :)
