Hi, thanks for posting this. I have the same issue in my 2003 e500 but when i looked in that area i don't see a splitter, I guess because I don't have GPS or some other need for the signal to be split. I am having a hard time loosening the connection to check and clean it but I was wondering if I couldn't just cut the connection out and just splice the two wires together. Any thoughts? Appreciate your help.

Does this also apply to a CC 2.0? How dangerous is this to do/is it worth doing? I bought a 2009 VW CC 2.0 that was generally well-maintained except for some reason they were putting in the yellow/green universal coolant from O’Reillys instead of the pink/purple VW spec. everything is running fine, but I want to try and get at least 50,000 more miles out of it. All I know is I could never properly bleed my BMW once I started having cooling problems with it and it was a never-ending nightmare for years until I finally sold it to the junkyard so I’d like to avoid opening pandora’s box, but I don’t wanna wear it down early. Mine is clean just the wrong stuff.

Thanks for doing this video. I heard you say in the video that your cable had pulled out at one point. That is what happened to mine and I'm not sure how to go about securing it again. If you could just point me in the right direction as to which screws to remove and exactly what screws need to be pulled out and if you remove it completely or does it slide back in or what have you. Thanks for anything you can do to help me and potentially others!

Honest question: Apart from the features of UConnect 5 that you mention, what is the appeal of this giant screen exactly? My TRX came with this in it, and I can't stand it. Not having HVAC controls - especially for seat cooling/heating - is so annoying. You start the truck up, and you have to wait for the UConnect to boot up, give you the warning message, then you have to tap in different places to adjust the seat temps, cabin temp, etc. If the profile memory would save the seat cooling/heating, it would be fine, but it doesn't. Having to spend time EVERY time you start the truck waiting for this goddamn UConnect screen is so annoying. What was wrong with the physical HVAC controls? Why do people need screens this big when they're supposed to be watching the road? This whole trend makes no sense to me.

sooo, after installing empty/cleaned expansion coolant tank you ran car w/o water or coolant?

This does not work if all digital gauges are on the dash. I've not found a way to turn off seatbelt chime with all digital gauges.
