Thanks so much for this. I did mine on the RHD UK version M340D and everything was spot on. Thanks again buddy.
Glad it helped! Anytime!
Thank you. This is such an useful video!
Glad it was helpful!
Just what I was looking for. An excellent video thank you.
Great to hear!
Hey bro what made you change to accessories onky
Great video
One question why didn't you use a fuse tap ?
More clutter, same result. Its still being protected by the fuse if you wrap it around the prong, also there is an additional inline fuse on the wire. So theres 2 layers of protection
For sum reason it’s draining my battery
If you wired it in parking mode it would drain your battery depending on the dash cam model
@@WeekndGaragewhat do you mean ?
Good video, except the part of wrapping wire around the pins of the fuse. Big big no! Also, by doing this on both pins of a single fuse, one of the wires is effectively bypassing the fuse.
Thanks, there are also inline fuses in each of the wires that we wrapped around the fuse. (5a cartridge fuse inside the black tube casing) So it’s being protected either way :)
2 recommendations When running your cable in front of the Airbag, this may obstruct it's correct deployment. Furthermore, the connection to the fuse in that way, may also be a fire hazard. Best would be a mini fuse tap.
No fire hazard at all because the red and yellow wire both have an inline fuse (black tube) and it’s also fused by the fuse it’s connected to.
Also with the slack in the headliner the airbag deployment won’t be affected by the cable, appreciate the feedback though!
Brother, first of all, thank you for your help. Which box do I need to connect the camera to get power when the vehicle is only running, excluding parking mode? @WeekndGarage
Please let me know!
What dash cam do you recommend
More G chassis mods ?
Thank you
Thanks alot i only see red and yellow no ground mine is 540i
That lots sketchy. I have a hardwire kit I used in my Audi, but wasn't required in my BMW F31 due to having a 12v socket in the foot well, but the hardwire kit had a fuse carrier, so you plugged it into the fuse socket and the put the fuse in the carrier so it was all secure and no wires forced in.
Works well, fused by the car and also the additional inline fuse of the dashcam cable
Hi , Which fuse number did you connect?
Depends if you’re using parking mode or only continuous recording
For use in parking mode
I mean, you could have done a much better job than that. Using felt tape to cover the wire so that you don't hear it rattling against anything, using zipties or felt tape to keep the excess wire for the rear bunched up together so that it doesn't create a mess or snag against anything when it will need to be uninstalled.
And don't even get me started on the most botchiest thing of them all (which would also be a fire hazard) not using a fuze splitter and opting to wrap the wires against an existing fuse. You must have no conscience.
I’d say this is an excellent installation
0 rattles or issues.
No need for fuse splitter, 0 chance of fire hazard. There is nothing that would ground out and cause a fire anywhere inside our fuse plug plus it’s protected by the existing fuse.
Fuse tap = same result piggy backing off the same fuse, brings up the cost with 0 value added.
