    What a GREAT TIP on the chickpeas: soak them, drain them, freeze them - - and then they are ready to go anytime !!!

    Many people think that it is wrong to call food "Schnitzel" if there is no meat in. This is silly because the origin of the the word Schnitzel comes from "Schneiden, Geschnittenes" what means cutted. Also vegetables can be "Geschnetzelt", even paper. Nobody sais that there has to be dead animals in to be a Schnitzel.
    I like your channel and your recipes even if i eat meat sometimes. I will try this recipe as soon as possible, it looks so yummi.

      right? I speak a little German but it never occurred to me, there's also a candybar called milchschnitte (spelling?)
      edit: is that why we say "cutlet" in English because we CUT them? lol I'm dead tired I probably shouldn't be flexing my linguistics skills :D

    Wow, I love how firm the texture seems. The hardest thing to achieve with vegan recipes is firmness and that schnitzel seems to have that!!

    I can't wait to try this! You are so funny, you tell them! Being vegan for 20 years, I've had to tune out people that don't get the fake meat thing. It's delicious and I wouldn't want anything that tastes too much like meat anyway, it freaks me out!

    👏👏👏 what a fabulous idea… I must try this recipe. I also loved watching your black cat in the window. I felt a tinge of sadness as I lost my black cat 3 years ago. She lived to 22 years,. I had her from 6 weeks old. But I still miss her 🥲 I now have a black/white rescue cat who is quickly settling in.     Chef Jana, such a yummy recipe. I started a couple days ago soaking my chickpeas. Mixed everything all up today. These will be our meat for our Thanksgiving tomorrow. I did cut a corner out of the pan before I refrigerated and fried a small piece up. Sweetie, you are a genius. It has such a yummy taste, I'll be fighting my taste buds all night waiting to cook them tomorrow. I love the way you put together foods and have such a delicious taste. It is easy to be meat free with your recipes. That you so much for helping me eat healthy .

    I haven't eaten meat for about 3 months ... so I'm exploring all the other possibilities. And with Jana I am digging deeper and deeper :). True, I'm adjusting, because I'm not vegan..Anyway, thank you, Jana..And this schnitzel is on my menu today..it's resting in the fridge..for now everything is fine. Yesterday I made bread from Pyrrhic flour, not exactly according to Jana's recipe, but I followed her recipe. It turned out perfect.

    I used to gift my father dulce flakes, because he loved seaweed and things like it (he grew up on an island in New Brunswick, Canada).
    I think that is close to what you call kelp powder. I've seen dulce powder too, for sale online...but I always used to buy him dulce in pieces or flakes.
    And I've used it to make Worcester sauce before (to act fishy in place of anchovies).

      @@ChefJana 😘 Made these yesterday and tweaked seasonings.
      Mine were a bit softer so need another starch powder I used Tapioca ! ;-) or cook longer and push out into Thinner Form pans to get desired effect but not much just a little firm up, soooo Perhaps some more Oat flour !!! Yeah That's it !
      They are Awesome !
      They were Enjoyed and tasted gorgeous !
      Thankyou I also put a Garlic Yogurt sauce on top too ! 😄😀❣.

    Looks so good, can't wait till Friday night our Restorant meal night. Because it's fried. Chef Jana can I make this in an oven or air friier.
    I have difficulty digesting fats. Thank you so much, I'm determined to try every one of your recipes that have no soy, nuts, and apples. Planning to replace dates for the sugar, in your desert recipes hope it works. As I gave up sugar, need to lose a lot of weight this winter, with your recipes I know I can do this if I cut down the fat as well. Great explanations and yes, I need you to repeat things, so I don't have to keep going to look things up. Or I can go and make. Thank you, God bless.
