hay Albert. I have a e mail from Albert Kim with a snowman infront of it saying I won the whoop from last week and wants my address so they can tell me what shipping will be. Is that real??? I hope so but I have to ask because scamers have been messing with me a lot. anyways thanks for all the giveaways
I’ve been using this iron for probably a year or so. It’s absolutely fantastic, I’ve only had to buy replacement tips because I’ve used it so much. Great as an extra, or even a primary iron.
Thanks for this opportunity! I started my FPV journey about three months ago, and I was looking for a affordable iron. I will buy one even if I don't wind it. Thanks!
I have never used this type of iron before. I have the most generic 25W iron and I switch between the tips. Always wanted a fancy one. And I know how useful it is , because my friend had one !!
I’m new to the FPV hobby and currently using a Hakko FX-888D and have been looking at a portable unit because it’s always nice to have a backup just in case.
I went through so many soldering irons when i was building electric skateboards. I ended up investing in a weller soldering station and is the best i ever used till this day. A little expensive. Can't take it to the field though. This is great to put in my back pack. Great review as always A K.
I have been using a portable SH72 model very cheap and works great but I was looking into getting a Sequre iron set. I have heard good things. 👍 4 A.K. !
These are pretty handy for field work on small awg wire. Careful of cold joints on power wires. For the bench though you can't beat a good soldering station. I prefer the cheap stm32 oled stations. Heat up in like 5 seconds. Lots of options.
An in extremely helpful review. I'm in the market for a field iron. I like the price and it seems quite affordable. I enjoy your channel and your diverse RC content.
I’ve never owned an iron of this type and would love to try it out for size lol. In this hobby you really need a good go to iron for feild repairs and such. Absolutely enjoy your content regardless of giveaways Albert. You da man you really help a lot brother. Keep up the great work
Did the temp readout feel accurate? You probably didn't test against an IR readout, but was it behaving as it should at the temps you set, or did you have to turn things up higher than normal? (wondering if the readout is accurate, or just a digital version of those cheap dial adjustable irons)
Paid about $40 for a Weller 40W with the base station and a scaled power knob (i.e. 1-6, not temp controlled) back when I first got into the hobby. It’s not fancy but it’s reliable as hell and once you know about where to set the knob, it’s not difficult to produce good results. Great on the bench for over 5 years now, but I think I’ll snag one of those D60s for on the go if I don’t win one. I was too cheap for a TS100 when I had a decent bench iron, but it’s really hard to argue with $30 for that thing… I usually take more than one quad out so it’s less of an issue now but, put it this way: if a single Rx wire comes loose in a first pack crash on your only quad, you really kick yourself for not having a field iron.
Hey I've been using the DIY version of the cheap stm32 oled station with t12 tips. Like $40 or so. T12 is the way to go. You can swap them while hot easy. Have several. Replaced my main Weller station with one. Heats up in under 5 seconds. Actual accurate and adjustable turndial temperature in programmable increments, programmable boost, standby and sleep. Auto wakeup. Best iron on the market short of a pro JCB which is ridiculous expensive.
Excellent budget soldering iron. Gave one to a friend for Christmas. For my ts100 I use a laptop power supply. 20v at 4.5 amps. Plenty of juice for desktop use. In the field I fly 5s which works very well for soldering. Sweet giveaway, great review. And a useful tip video, for beginners and experienced alike. 👍
Awesome video Albert I enjoy seeing something that seems to be good with a budget price. That would be nice to have for the bag. Thank you for what you do
I saw this model on rdq when I was buying a new soldering iron but the sq-001 had more of a reputation as being good so I went that route. I felt like the price difference for something that would last me years was worth it. The only problem I have now is the plug coming out of the back of the iron if I accidentally tug on it when soldering and changing positions.
Hi Albert, I watched your demo video of the SQ-D60B Soldering iron, and I was wondering if this soldering iron heats up the pads as quick as the SQ-001 or the TS-100? The video was sped up during the soldering process, so I really couldn't tell how quick the solder was able to be applied to the pads. I've seen some soldering irons that would take forever to solder 1 pad.
I have a friend with the TS-100, SQ-001 and the SQ-D60B. He's a soldering nut I guess. I've borrowed them on many occasion in the field. You almost can't tell the difference in performance. It heats up a lot faster than my Weller that's built over a hundred quads. This has plenty of heat for RC.
@@Stankycreekbmx OK thanks. I have 2 Wellers, and they sit in a drawer. They take forever to heat up and when they do, they don't seem to get hot enough to make a good solder joint. I'll never buy another Weller. I was wondering about the Sequre SQ-001, but didn't know how reliable they were, so I've been reluctant to purchase one, and I've never heard of the SQ-D60B until I saw your video. Thanks for the info. have a great day.
At the same temp, they work about the same speed. For some of the larger pads, I probably can raise the temp to 400C but 350C was fast enough for me. Sometimes are higher temps the solder flux can splash out more.
Looks like a good soldering iron to upgrade to. Recently upgraded my quad and gear, so now this seems the only thing left to upgrade. Was looking out for bench type or portable type soldering. Seems like ill go the portable route. Thanks for the great review of the sq-d60.
Looks like a nice iron, I’ve actually been looking to replace my cheapo $20 Amazon iron I bought when I first got into the hobby (didn’t realize how much I would actually be using one). Win lose or draw I’ll either pick up on of these or the SQ001.
I might have to try out one of these little soldering irons. I have been wanting one for remote use and for the price might be worth a shot. Thanks for the review

Only fault I give it is the usb port does become a loose fit and the iron goes cold mid solder. I have had mine quite a while now though. I do like the fact you get the barrel to xt60 cable with it. You don't get that with the ts100
A got electrict current about 10-11 volt in bolt of this solder (all of three bolt show this current, not only the tip). Is it normal or there is something with mine?
Way better. The cheap bench units don't have the temperature control circuitry that this one has. Stay away from those. Just a waste of money. You're paying for fancy plastic cosmetic shells and other useless stuff.
I love fpv drones and also rc cars , I would love to win this Sequre SQ-D60B Soldering machine , to solder the electronic cables of my machines, this portable machine can be used to solder a plug in case of any bad luck :)
