Have to shout out Haegemonia. It's a phenomenal game and still boasts the most pretty space explosions despite being 24 years old. The only glaring downside to this game is the voice acting, but it also has the "so bad, it's good" vibe going. Absolutely recommended.
Star Wars Empire At War is a great RTS in the Star Wars universe. The original version is very good, but i recommend searching for some modded versions that will improve the experience in new levels. The thumb of this video is from a modded version that make the game feels like a new RTS system.
@@noveldefender9815I know its late but, on the steam version you just use the workshop which you just click subscribe on whatever mod you want and it will auto download and you can boot it up in the mods tab once you launch the game. Master of Orion 2: battle at Antares (old) and Master of Orion new (and good clone Interstellar Space - Genesis), Pax Imperia, Polaris Sector, Imperium Galactica II: Alliances
Endless Space II is a decent game. Battlefleet Gothic: Armada II is one of my favorites, but I wish there's a game space empire building for Warhammer 40k.
There's an interesting game missing the your list: "Children of a Dead Earth". It's a space strategy game set in the solar system, trying to be as realistic as possible. As such you have to plan burns for orbit transitions and always budget your delta-V like in Kerbal Space Program. Battles take place over vast distances instead of "naval battles in space" seen in most space strategy games. If you read/seen "The Expanse" you can kinda guess in which direction this goes, but it tries to be even more hard, science-based sci-fi than that. Also there's a rare console/handheld game: "Infinite Space" for the Nintendo DS. It's an RPG foremost but battles are decided in real time where you have to command a fleet of spaceships. As an abstraction, there's no map or 3D environment - only the distance between your fleet and the enemy fleet. Over the course of the game you'll get access to countless tactical options like special weapons, ship launched fighters, boarding actions and support ships that have non-attacking roles. Each ship can be customized extensively where you have to carefully balance the available internal space with the modules you want to cram in there. Also you have to manage your crew: 150 recruitable characters with their own backstory, quirks and even sidequests. Also a big draw is the grand story that spans decades, touches on thought provoking topics like philosophy or religion and even features some visual novel elements.

I want to play a game where each player is given their own ship to pilot but we’re all part of the same faction. I would love to Scout the universe in search of a habitable planet for my Player Clan

Wouldn’t the x series be a first person flying game it’s not exactly strategy like stellaris or other games that you actually command a fleet or empire the x series you would have to fly a ship and most likely recruit a fleet
@lordnas1107 you do command a fleet and can micromanage their orders. Same for managing and expanding an economy. It's probably more seen as a simulation game but there are huge strategic elements involved in that.
@@jaywall4591 not as big as grand strategy it’s only involving space battles grand strategy is controlling a empire and doing both land and space battles

Distant Worlds 2 and Interstellar Space: Genesis are both outstanding games that should be high on your list.
Nice vid! Master of Orion got bumped out the list.

I miss the Conquest Frontier Wars. Nobody mentioning it :(
That game is awsome space strategy game!
A fairly good list. Nice work.
Thanks for this bud, definitely got 2 games out of this i will definitely be trying
Thx for this list!
StarSector, X4 Foundations...
Star empire at war forever!
Starsector это шедевр как и Stellaris. Если не играли в Starsector, многое пропустили ). Это Mount & Blade в космосе
Nice video. Thanks for the recommendation.

Closest you will get if you have a pc is Stellaris with the 40k conversion mod.
There is a stellaris mod but I hope they updated it.

The only game that focus on other things except fleet battles, is Stellaris.

A worthy mention should be Distant Worlds 2.... great game
How about a space game that have land exploration or combat? Its fine for me even the game is old
there are plenty of such games like first comes to my mind is "Elite Dangerous"
Хорошо, что есть тайм коды с названиями.
Nice! 😛💣💚
Look at Terra Tritium, it looks cool
What about X series O.o ?!
These all seem to be slightly different variations of the same game.
Visually yes, space is a rather limiting setting, gameplay wise they can be quite different from one another: from 4x to rts to turn based tactics.
