Can I link any router to the ethernet cable that comes from ONT? Like can I use the same router I've using with DSL or I need to have specific router designed specifically to work with optical fiber network?
That depends on your ISP so if I were you I would call them and see if there are any requirements with using your own router. But most dual-band routers should work with a LAN connection to the ONT.
Yes you can use your own router. You will need to contact Race's tech support and request that they put your ONT into bridge mode. You then connect your router's WAN port to port 1 on the ONT. Your router will get a public IPv4 and IPv6 address from Race and will act as the sole router in your network. I just had them do that with my ONT a few days ago and its been working great with my UDM Pro.
What a gnarly beard
Good easy video to understand !
