I proceeded to come through the entire tree with my maxed out party to destroy everything in my path for revenge

Is it harder than when Bridgid slapped him?!

I reckon this has to be one of the most underrated Xeno songs in the series, this absolutely slaps. And is such a nice change up, right when the story really starts to dig deep. The same kind of scenario when first introduced to Mechanical Rhythm in Xeno 1
I 100% agree. I remember when I first heard it on the cliffs of morytha I LOST IT, a new battle theme after like 60 hours of play time for me, it's so damn catchy and tight
It’s my favorite song in the entire series, which is saying a lot. It matches the theme of the game perfectly. Just when the game is starting to get long, just when Pyra has been taken, this theme starts playing and reminds you to move forward in a world that doesn’t want you to. A masterpiece of a music piece.
100% agree. Especially when you realize you're getting close to rescuing Pyra and you've been stuck without her and struggling through Spirit Crucible Elpys. You're also right next to the world tree and it almost reinvigorates you
@@durgeess9490 Man, i needed to stop playing and grabbed my bass to just groove with this.
Oh, ABSOLUTELY! This is one of my personal favorites!
Probably my favorite battle theme in the game. It's at the part of the game where everything I didn't get about the combat system just clicked, and the story went in full force. Everything was getting awnsered, only to leave even more questions. The final stretch of this game was simply incredible and I still think about it constantly, even 4 years later. What a game
Xenoblade chronicales 3 hype. I can't wait to relive a xenoblade game AGAIN. What about you?
It's a weird battle system in that it's been telling you the whole time that you have to use elemental and blade combos but until around now you probably didn't have all the pieces necessary. Around this part you do your first chain attack with like 4 elemental bursts and it's like "Oh THAT'S how it works!"
@@Beelzeboogie GOD EXACTLY, that was the most satisfying shit, canceling arts and then doing tons of the elemental stuff around the endgame. God I wanna replay this shit again
@@chrisedwards9424 Yessss definitely
Totally agree, not to mention the fantastic World Tree theme
Goes well with chain attacks
Best battle theme in the game imo
Agreed!
I love this theme as well but exploration is too good
SmashAttack64 I couldn't agree more.
I personally prefer 'Exploration!' but this is straight up amazing
Torna’s Battle!!:
“hi”
The Xenoblade Chroncles series has the best music ever imo
You wouldn’t expect a science-fantasy game to have such a heavy metal soundtrack
Based
Yeah really good music 🎸. I hear it everytime i study lol. Btw hello pyra
This is the "Mechanical Rhythm" of XC 2 for me. And I love this song to death.
Better intro, but definitely damn good. And one hell of a whiplash moment after hearing one main battle theme for most of the game.
Yeah, I draw the same parallel upon hearing it. Both songs are so damn good.
Funny, cause both songs first play during a mission to save the protagonist's love interest.
Exploration is more like mechanical rhythm for me.
So you must love the New battle theme from xc3 future redeemed. The official trinity ost book says that those two songs were the inspiration behind
I was so over levelled at this part of the game because I kept fighting monsters to hear this lol

You can’t use that special until chapter 10, after killing the pope.
This has to be the best field battle theme of the game, so catchy and dynamic!
I remember so many people disliking the voice acting the first month the game is out. Now its iconic and the characters are really lovable
It sort of gets better as the game progresses, as if they lean into their roles a little easier.
Aside from that though, after a point, it just is part of the game and you can't help but love how sincere a lot of it sounds lol. That might just be me, but that's how I see it.
@@mr_pants278 definitely. I feel that now people enjoy the english voice acting a lot more now and many fans would love to see rex in smash. He would work really well imo
@@RWNetworkEX Man, if Rex makes it into Smash, I will lose my god damn mind so fast. I think Sakurai said he kind of wanted him to be in the game, but Smash and it's characters were too far in development to add a new one, but don't quote me on that, I might be remembering something else.
Rex's inclusion is the last thing I hope for in these last 5 characters, and Smash as a whole XD

This song alone made the monotonous World Tree not only tolerable, but damn enjoyable.
Fun fact: the world tree's theme is the main theme of the game
@@ShadowSkyX in my opinion, the best version of the main theme as well. Yggdrasil is such a damn good song. Side note, was I the only one getting portal 2 vibes from the area?

I love how they chose to start using this song when they did. Feels like it's really emphasising Rex's redoubled convictions and overall character development.
And in gameplay its the theme of being repeatedly run over by angry light cycles, which is always fun in its own way.
World Tree?

BLADE COMBO THIRD STAGE. AWESOME!!!
Chain attack start!!
This is definitely my most favorite regular battle theme in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I'm getting Mechanical Rhythm vibes from this.
remember discovering this song through smash and got extremely hyped it started playing towards the end of the game cause i loved the soundtrack sm.
i need to replay XC2 and finally start XC3.
I used Nias level 4 special for the first time here and the music synced up *perfectly* for it. It was beautiful
Definitely my favorite XC2 battle theme. It arrives at the perfect moment, after certain spoiler events, during a period where combat gets significantly harder, and yet it's such a cool theme that I've ended up finally getting pumped for combat, grinding a little, and getting good at it, stopping and actually understanding the mechanics. (I didn't liked the combat system of XC2 back then and I was avoiding fights most of the time, barely getting by with bosses, barely using the mechanics correctly... I still prefer XC1's but now I enjoy both). It's also not so long from the point where the plot actually started to interest me (Until that point again, I was comparing with XC1 all the time and I wasn't too impressed, I still prefer XC1's again, but I love both now).
Probably most people got pulled into the game earlier, but for me this theme kinda represents a before and an after due to those two aspects.
BTW I've yet to play Torna, and I'm happy with having Pyra and Mythra in Smash now ♥, back in the day I was more in for Elma, but that was 'cause I didn't played XC2 yet lol
The entire song is a banger, but the rush I get from the first 45 seconds is on a whole other level. Intense.
Oh my God U ARE DOING GODS WORK U ARE ONE OF THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE MADE A VIDEO WHERE IT DIDNT JUST START THE SONG OVER MID WAY

One of the best combat themes of any jrpg imo
Look, I don't wanna say Kenji Hiramatsu carried this soundtrack or anything, but he did this, Counterattack, Mor Ardain, Uraya and the main battle theme. Oh, and he apparently arranged for Yggrasil too.
Edit: _And_ You Will Recall Our Names.
ACE carried IMO, but they're both good.
Wait he did Uraya??? I would have always assumed it was Manami Kiyota

Its official. XC2 has the best non vocal battle themes. Persona does exist, so I can't say vocal, but instrumental? Its not much of a contest.

I’m not really new though, I’ve been around for a while. I’ve been interested in XC music ever since I first heard you will know our names in smash 4. And I’m pleased to say it doesn’t disappoint.
Assuming persona has the best music in general or that XC2 is even second LUL
Xeno series as a whole has amazing music, but idk if I would say its the best (probably better than persona though)
Best battle theme in the game byfar.

Ambassador Of Mercy except that’s not gonna do any good lol I’m overpowered as fuck and doing max damage with an auto attack sooooooooo
Call me Zelda ONE moar time New Game Plus
It faired way better than Battle in the Skies Above. That song only plays against ONE enemy in the main game (which can be skipped if you're overleveled) and like 3 enemies in the Torna DLC.
It (Battle in the Skies Above) also plays during Adenine and KOS-MOS's sidequest. Still sucks that it got treated poorly. Out of the four normal battle themes, it's my second favorite.
Theme of Rex and Pneuma ruining Jin and Mahlos career

A theme of determination.
Ah yes, the Mechanical Rhythm of 2.
"We do not negotiate holy decrees. Prepare for holy chastisement!"
Whoever voiced the line is hella under-appreciated. It's so random to like the voice of a nameless indolin leader warrior monk.
Righteous chastisement
HEALING HALO
Broke: Using Nia's healing arts as a Driver
Woke: Using her as a Blade and her passive skills heal the entire party all the time 😎
Always associated this song more with Morytha than the World Tree, it's where the endgame truly kicks off
Motercycles: Run Away
Giant mech: stay and fight.
Familion: m o t e r c y c l e
Gerolf: hehe gundam look go brrrr
Spoilers, but....
The first time I went through the world tree, I was having such a hard time with the enemies that this song was the only thing that got me to keep on going. On my second playthrough though (not ng+) I had a proper understanding of the battle system and knew how to exploit pneuma in every fight, so the world tree was a legit cake walk. I can appreciate how knowing more about the battle system can make the game easier.
I think Xenoblade 2 is the only game I've ever played where I didn't fully understand how the battle system worked until the final boss.

I’ve always imagined this as QTpi’s battle theme. Makes sense thematically.

Still, Move Forward!: I'm you, but better.
Blester exactly
Mechanical... Sound?
I think it's Mechanical Rhythm.
I mean yes, this song is better than mechanical sounds :^)
Sorry, I fixed it.
Mechanical rythym and this song are the best. They knew they had to pull off the second theme for the next half of the game again and nailed it
I liked the asthetic of the World Tree, BUT I WAS SO DAMN UNDERLEVELED I HAD TO AVOID ALMOST EVERY ENEMY
How could that be? The game just vomits bonus EXP at you if you're not at the desired level. I made a mistake and constantly used it, and seemed to always be just out of level range of being aggroed in many dungeons. I walked through the entire Spirit Crucible without fighting anything.
@Klee15 at the time, I did like no quests in games, and it was my first time playing a Xenoblade game fully blind so I didn't realize that would be a mistake
Now I'm the opposite way. I find it hard not to just always 100% games like Xenoblade, even on repeat playthroughs. I have nearly 600 hours in 3 but I'm not even done with my second playthrough.
I can totally see Rex and co. having a dance-off against the Guldos while this song plays.
Holy CRAP do I love this song. Battle 1 was great, Battle 2 is.. okay, not my favorite. Then you get to THIS and just.. mmhf. Every battle throughout Chapter 9 brought me immense pleasure 'cause I got to hear this blasting constantly in my headphones. Excellent song, and OST in general.
1:00 got me feeling some type of way 😩
Flashbacks to getting murked by Pyra's difficult spirit battle.
Loud screams of anguish, especially as Shulk and Lucina edge guard and gimp your recoveries.
Lava floor on all platforms prevents ground attacks.
Stupid fire bars with their high knockback scaling.
Cheesed them on No Spirits with Chrom spike.
Mythra is easier thanks to no lava floor.
Managed to beat her with Ness, though had to get FS off. Get rid of either Corrin or Shulk, and it becomes so much easier.
The challenge battle... BEGINS!
Best battle theme in the whole Xeno series.
Commandment 11: though shall not have a xenoblade battle theme without the violin.
Uh. Exploration my guy.
The music alone makes me want to play this game so bad. I'm stuck between wanting to play Trails in the Sky FC because I'm craving another turn-based RPG, but also wanting to play this. I can't choose 😩
Did you play the game ?
The violin part reminds me of another melody, but I can't determine which one.
Mechanical Rhythm from XC1?
Serious Striker Maaaybe, I haven't played XC1 that intensive yet though.

Sounds like some of the music from the older Ys games, and I dig it. Definitely worse influences to channel than Falcom JDK Band.
I'd never heard any music from those games until you mentioned that and dang, I was missing out. Also, I have to agree, honestly.
I just came to this after listening to trails tracks for a while. This song definitely does have a JDK ring to it, doesn’t it? Perhaps that helps explain why Xenoblade and Trails are my two favorite series.
It's minor, and unrelated but the ironic thing is that before Tetsuya Takahashi was with Square back in the 90's, He started game development in Nihon Falcom in 1980's.
so it's like Xenoblade channeled energy from Falcom to have the music like that, At least that's what I like to imagine XD
