I’d say maturing as a person and in style means moving away from pieces that make you look like someone else, and move into pieces that make you feel more like yourself. No matter what you wear, nothing looks worse than an outfit that looks impractical. This is the real world, not a runway. Just my opinion. Nice vid 👍
this is one of your best videos. super interesting to hear about your story and style evolution and overall analysis! also please for the love of god please tell Tommy to upload he’s my favorite yter
I feel like people put too much pressure on themselves to constantly be "creative" or different in their style and expression. Its perfectly fine to stick to one style or aesthetic if it is what you like. I mean even early 2000s indie is sort of coming back so almost anything can come back into trend. I have jumped in and out of so many aesthetics over the years, but find myself always going back to 1 or two main styles so now I mainly just stick to pieces that work well with those styles. It is so much easier on your wallet when you know exactly what pieces you like and what works for you and what will not. I think its better to approach each brand with "will this piece work with my style?" instead of doing a full tilt style change to that brands overall aesthetic. Just my 2 cents for anyone out there struggling to find their personal style.
MAN!!! TWIABP is such a good band, midwest emo, emo hardcore and all of that stuff are one of my favorite genres. I recommend you Gleemer, Turnover-Peripheral Vision, or The Hotelier, which you might know maybe, from their album Home, Like Noplace is There. Such good music !
It seems like everyone eventually transitions to more practical minimalist comfortable clothes. I used to be a big boot collector(dirks, dior, slp, guidi,Rick) but nowadays wear comfortable sneakers and shorts everyday. I still kept some of the items for going out but they spend most of the year sitting in my closet
Hey Karsten, I don't usually comment here, this video was incredible in my opinion. I liked that it was personal, and I could see myself going through some of the same things at some points. Personally I'm on my avantgarde phase now and I love it :D
Respect for adding pics of the beginning of your style journey, I cringe so hard at my earlier fits it makes me close my photos app. I have a similar progression, albeit with fewer high fashion pieces due to living in Africa and not having a budget (ps have you been working the whole time? how have you been able to afford multiple hundred-dollar pieces per year?? I guess I could afford more if I was selling on granted as well instead of just giving my old stuff away...)
Its the hypebeast journey.. trying to dress ”popular” all the time. After a while you learn to diverge from that and for me it helped stopping using ig and never went back.
maybe the real style evolution is the friends we made along the way
😢
underrated comment
Glad to hear Karsten is back with the peakiest mic in the fashion space
😂😂
lmao

i had my suspicions at first but 100% convinced now that he’s trying to be gearedtowardsgear
So essentially "I was a teen and that's when you evolve into an adult" 😅
