Sure ichikas songs are super impressive technically. But the most impressive bit for me, is like, how the fuck do you write a song like his. Like where does it come from, and how does it come together

Trust me when you know music theory and you improvise a lot, it comes randomly. For me the most difficult part is memorize the whole thing cause it takes so much time...

Shows that the amount of practice you have done more put into can make you practicing faster and learning faster
I practiced that song for a good couple hours and only was able to do like the first third but really slow and with a lot of mistakes and then I was like, yeah... this seems like a good time to give up and do something a little easier
That means you need to practice slower and longer, as long as you keep practicing you will eventually get there
I respect this guy so much more now that he decided to tackle this genre. As well as when he mentioned Ichika Nito

The best part about Ichika's music is, once you can play it decently, you really enjoy playing that piece and start grooving
surely that goes for all music, but it hits different when it's at Ichika difficulty

you should still check out that wonderwall cover, or at least the guy, he's super skilled and I love his stuff, especially since its all done on an acoustic which imo seems way harder than an electric for tone quality!

Ichika is definitely my biggest inspiration. Around 5 months ago I bought my first guitar because I got really inspired by him and since then I've been learning the short version of his song "Homesick". As of around last week I've managed to learn it all and in the process I went from not knowing how to hold a guitar to being able to play with a variety of techniques I didn't even know existed.
Andrew saying he has been on the same level for a long time gives me the same feeling he got watching Ichika

As a fingerstyle guitarist myself I can say it is well worth learning math rock it is so cool, I actually started off with that guitar tapping exercise and it was a lot of fun
