There's no minimum length as far as monetization is concerned. =) You may be thinking of 10 minutes being the minimal length to run midway ads. If a video is shorter than 10 minutes ads can only run before or after.
You are one of the most beautiful spirits I've ever had the pleasures of meeting , a true and genuine old souls , may God always keep his full Armour upon you my friend ☺💞💫🛸💫🛸💫🛸🇺🇸 love is the key, always 💞
Mick, you did ok for the first time out. Give yourself a break. No one does everything right the first time. What is so amusing is, you have a low voice like your father, but look like your mother and express yourself like both of them. A winning combination! You probably don’t use lists, but one thing that helped me greatly is creating a list of what to take with me and laminated it. You check things off as you pack them, then erase the black checks afterward to use the list the next time. It avoids having awful nights like you guys did. Take care and God bless!! 💔🙏🏼🐾🙏🏼💔
Check Lists are your friends. I'm a Marine Veteran and honestly we never went on a maneuver, overnight or day hike without a list. Inspect your gear , pack it and ✅ it when you pack up to go and when you break camp. Saves time, money and yes it can save lives. ❤ Have fun but be safe.
You're already doing a lot of things right, and you're learning more as you go. May I offer a piece of advice for camping trips: Pack from a list. When I was doing multi day winter camping trips back in the 1980's I made a list of all my gear, and always checked my list twice when packing. I still have the list, and almost all the gear. Stay safe, be well.
a backpacking stove like a pocket rocket or jet boil would be a way lighter and more reliable option for these excursions 😂 love your videos by the way. I’m a filmmaker and editor by trade and I think you’re doing wonderfully. capturing the authenticity and simple moments so well.
Mick, You are extremely correct! You are there on you own land! You have had already in 40 days an experience millions would only deam of and never do. That my friend is victory #1! I am still betting on you! PS You wil have that first outing story with your friends to tell, laugh and look back on with a smile for years. Enjoy the moments too!
You are brave, Mick. Can’t get to good enough for now if you aren’t brave. I’m old. I know brave. You are more than brave enough. Live and learn. Great video!!!
You are such a natural narrator! Intelligent, with a great voice. It's already an asset to you, and I cannot wait to see what's ahead for you with it, (and of course the Alaska dream too).
Hi Mick your only young once.. Enjoy as long as you make your self safe and warm for the winter months to come y not. Look forward to more videos and different content . Best of luck to you and all your endeavors in your new home Alaska.
Leaving a sleeping bag or wool blankets at home can cost you your life sometimes. But, like others have said, you have to start somewhere! So points for doing that! Glad to see a new friend. Introduction? Be safer!!!
"What home?" 🤣😂🤣 You got it. You don't need to get it right all the time. Actually Mick, that's impossible! I've been camping solo for decades and recently forgot a potholder! I've forgotten the pump for the air mattress, too! You are also right, you are out there doing it! Those are going to be the best lessons you can ever have, trial and error. By the way, the sound on your videos are excellent. You have to battle wind and elements. Your videos are natural interactions, much more enjoyable!
Dear Mick, I am happily watching you and your friends make such great memories! I would like to contribute to you financially but I am a 74 + year old, in a small income. I'm doing what I can and that is praying for your safety and success. I hope with all my heart that you value my contribution ❤🙏🏻 🏜️... watching and praying from Phoenix
Ok Mick, you and your friends just made me seriously laugh out loud. You are quite the story teller and very wise for only being on your own for a little over a month. Your parents must be very proud. Keep the videos coming, they're perfect. Also, I hope in the future you might set up other ways of supporting you. Unfortunately, I don't use PayPal.
I absolutely love your videos! Your narration of your videos is wonderful. Your go get ‘em attitude is so refreshing. Wishing all the best for you and looking forward to your next video. Take care and be safe!
HI Mick 👋 you have done more in your time in Alaska then alot of folks - sure your parents are very proud of you 😉 nice you have good friends to share adventures with 👍 take care & be safe 🙏🇺🇲
Hi Mick, like one of the commenters said 'we all have to start somewhere' and that first step was a biggie!!!! You are doing a wonderful job so don't be so hard on yourself👍👍 I mean you moved to freaking ALASKA!!! Give yourself some credit🌟✨⭐😍🥰 for a job well 👍😁🤗 Love from Wisconsin♥️❤️💖
Growing up my father always said "It's good enough for who it's for" And it was usually perfect, but it allowed us to not put unrealistic expectations on ourselves. Relax and enjoy life. You are an amazing young man and I look forward to watching you tackle life and toil for your food. Thanks Mick
What I learned about my husband when I first got married was he lives by his list...He gets great satisfaction by crossing off something on his list. I never wrote down to do lists like him. Groceries maybe. But I can tell you he has accomplished so much, and I attribute that to his list making. Now the reason he makes the list is to help him remember and I think it keeps him on task. When he was a junior in college he biked across the western U.S. for eight weeks. As he went along, he sent more and more things home that he didn't really need to lighten his load. This was before cell phones.
We all had to start somewhere. If you don't try anything once, you won't know if you can do it or like it. Thank you for bringing us on this journey with you. I hope that your videos inspire more people your age.
Hey Mick, now you have finished school the real life learning has begun. Videos, editing and all the other learning you are doing. Don’t think you have to be perfect at everything just to keep us happy. You will find most of us who watch your videos love you and want to support you no matter what. Just enjoy this journey. Just be you and have fun doing this life thing. Much love and respect from Australia 🥰
Oh my goodness, Mick. Y’all seriously made my day! 😂🤣 I’m still chuckling at your sense of humor and your storytelling. We are cheering for you and can’t wait to see your next adventure…you’re doing great! 🙏🙌 👏
I give you props, young man!!! Adulting is hard, very hard!!! I think that you are doing a fabulous job, while you are on your own. Creating content, trying to clear where you want to put up your cabin. Having to deal with not being allowed to enter onto your property (those people such) and you are doing it!!!!! I am so proud and happy for you!!!
" (those people such)" Looking at size and quality of their fence and all the cleared land, I don't think they moved there to be buddies with the neighbors. Also once the rain starts that type of road can be easily tore up in a yard of impassable mud.
With the simple trail and campout, you have learned so many valuable lessons that you will remember the rest of your life. You may not be a list maker, but honestly, you should start a list of things that you need to take with you every time you go into the wilderness. That way you can do a checklist during preparation and packing so you will have exactly what you need to take with you each time. And always test your equipment before taking it on a trip. It might be the difference between life and death. At your age it is so easy to be cavalier about things, but it is very serious when you realize that if you just prepare a little bit more, it could save your life.
Mick, I really cannot emphasize how amazing you are doing at your age. Young man you are so far ahead of the game of life. You should pat your self on the back every day and be very proud of the true and authentic man you are becoming.
You can tell he has no real idea of what he's doing, and that's what makes this so good to watch. Seeing someone who's not scared to show online that they aren't perfect. Seeing someone struggling but still willing to try again. Seeing someone who's genuinely dealing with the hardship of leaving this deathtrap we call society, and knowing that they are better off for it.
Your videos are great fun, and leave us watching out for the next adventure. The mom in me is saying, "Start stacking some winter firewood!" Don't mind me, you're doing great!
Mick I'm gonna be very frank with you. You're doing a great job on the videos , don't waste time on trying to improve them. You still seem to be a little bit green on your outdoor skills. Like forgetting to pack a sleeping bag and ground mat , try writing a check list for your gear and go over it twice. Also parking your car right on the waters edge , if there was a flash flood while you were gone it would have washed the car away , not very smart. I understand that you are young but take some tips from us older guys , we won't steer you wrong. I'm still proud of you for doing what you're doing , it's great and was my dream when I was your age. Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to your next adventure.
Mick, look where you are now...all that you did to accomplish your arrival at your homestead. Be proud of that accomplishment in itself. We can always do better. And our 'better' will vary from day to day. You are an incredibly powerful human being that can accomplish all that your heart desires deeply to accomplish...one step at a time. Remember...it's the journey...not so much the destination. I look forward to your next video. Thank you for bringing us along. That was very brave of you to make that decision.❤
So proud of you ! There are lessons to be learned...that's called Life . The very fact that you have evaluated June's tasks and resolved to do better , speaks volumes about your good character ! You are embarked on a fascinating journey...Go For It !!! Looking forward to your Sunday updates !
I bet you won’t ever forget a sleeping bag again. One of life’s best lessons and funny for your viewers. Being better involves learning from dumb-ass mistakes. We’ve all been there or will go there.
You definitely toiled for your food 😄 Groans were made. Laughs were had. Vista's were shared. Memories over things will always win in my book. Glad to be following your journey!
As a gr-parent I'm just so thankful you went hiking with mates who were generous enough to help you keep warm thru the night that you FORGOT YOUR SLEEPING BAG !!!! LOL that def takes the cake you goofball !!!! You have inherited your Dads speaking voice and narrating ability, this will enhance all your future videos & grow your YT channel pretty quickly, I should think. June is done & dusted, July is here .... lets see what you churn out this month. Hopefully your venture into adulthood will afford us some more hilarity at your developing knowledge expense !!! Letting us laugh along with you at your misrakes is a great way to build character. Remaining humble in Gods sight is imperative to serving Him. So, until next week, next video, be of good cheer and its ONWARDS & UPWARDS. Keep your walk with the Lord your No1 priority and nothing can stop you achieving His Will for your life. 🇦🇺❤️🤗🙏✌️👍👏🇺🇲
The ONLY reason I haven’t purchased land yet in AK is because I don’t want to give up the only 3 months Interior and S Central and Eastern bit has to let me explore all of her nooks and crannies !!! But one day SOON at least so I have it !!! You are at least 3 videos ahead of me ! I suffer the exact same issue of feeling I could have been more productive-at least you are doing it! (Oh! Now that I watched it I can see you had enough wisdom to see that for yourself). Hurray. I finally leave for AK again today after making upgrades and maintenance on my van. Can’t wait to see your upcoming videos - pat yourself on the back, buddy! Something I’ve noticed about Alaskans is that summer is just time to prep for winter !! You can call yourself an Alaskan now
You have a beautiful future in Alaska...and, like your Dad, a gift for narration...an in demand skill..which could help you build many cabins! Good luck!!
You're wise beyond your years Mick. You're absolutely right... "doing" is what it's all about. That's the only way to learn. I am looking forward to how you develop your land and build your cabin. You are way ahead of most people in your attitude. People 20 years, your senior don't realize this. You've had great examples in your parents, but now don't compare yourself to them. What I mean is, growing up watching and learning from them, but now you have the freedom to express yourself. Enjoy this process. You will do great. I told my kids, " Fail" only means F=first A= attempt I=in L=learning. We never fail when we keep on trying. Exciting and wonderful things are coming to you a little at a time. 😊
I laughed and laughed when I heard that you had forgot to bring a sleeping bag. The reason I laughed so hard is because I can so relate. I have done the very same thing as a young man about your age. Through the years I have forgot many things on camping trips and some of them were very important items. I finally started a camping trip check list on my smart phone and over the years it has become well filled out and now I seldom forget anything important. I agree totally with your philosophy of life that you spoke of near the end of the video. As an older adult I can say, at least from my perspective, that even I often feel that I have not done things nearly as well or as much as I could have but in the end it is better to get out there and live life even if it may be somewhat imperfect rather than do nothing even if you do a good job at doing nothing.
Hey Mick 👋 Transitioning between living at home and being on your own is a great discovery journey and glad to be following you in it. You’re doing great 👍
Heck Mick….don’t beat yourself up so soon. You got a journey of exploration, learning, and planning ahead. A month is nothing in the grand scheme of things and there will be plenty of challenges, and much more testing of your abilities to come. Keep your resolve and don’t expect too much too soon. Enjoy, do what you can each day and cover the things you consider essential first. Everything is what you make it. If you forget something…you’re human. You’re doing a lot already. Great to see you getting a trip with friends to stay balanced.great video😊
You are young and doing great! I admire your enthusiasm and spirit. You will always look back at this time in your life as wonderful. Give yourself a little grace and enjoy the learning and adventures that come with it. And your videos are great, keep them coming!
Oh Mick, you make me laugh and remember times long past when I forgot blankets and cookware for my first camping adventure. I am 70 years old now and seeing your youth and all the energy, adventure, and learning that comes with that is just wonderful to watch. Yes, you are "doing" not many do that now. You are brave and I am so looking forward to this adventure you have allowed us all to join. Thank you!!
Mick, freaking awesome attitude and I myself needed to hear your positive words myself and I'm about to turn 60 yrs old in a couple of months ! Lol So, GO YOU !! And man, you and your friend just keep making memories because one day, you will look back and laugh your butt off at them. Blessings upon you.
Thx for sharing the funny! We’ve all lived thru our own first steps to tell of it. Now it hasta be a do as I say not as I did- not nearly as much fun, ha! So, great throwback Mick! 😂. Just Betcha there’ll be other young adults encouraged to step outta the box too as they see you enjoying the journey. 👍
No worries, Mick. Your work and planning and getting the details worked out is all good trailblazing. Even your fun camping trip is an educational journey for all of us. The scenery was beautiful and your adventure assessment was funny. Remember your sleeping bag.
The mistakes we make are what gives us experience. I’m betting the next time it won’t be your sleeping bag you forgot. You’re doing great, you have a tv commentator’s voice, and getting the cabin built should be a slow and steady process, not a rush job. Good luck to you.😊
As you prepared Ramen, I was reminded of one of your mom's steaks and mushrooms. haha Your mom can work some magic on a campfire! Especially breakfast. Thanks for sharing! 💙
Love it! Great narrative! I needed the laughs. Can't wait to join you on your adventure and see what's next. Mom and Dad must be very proud!! It's in your DNA! you got this!! 💙
You are quite the story teller. I enjoyed the camping trip from the comfort of my recliner. I would have been miserable with no food or bedding. You will do better next time. Looking forward to July.
Your mindset is so refreshing to witness. Please don't push yourself to make your videos fancy. To be honest, the way they've been is exactly what feels the most real to me. It makes you stand out in a good way. You don't need to be like anyone else here on RUclips, because you're already staying true to yourself. I look up to you and the journey you're making. You got this! 😊
Step by step ,set urself daily / weekly goals u will get there ....but yeah winter will be on u before u know it . Videos are great a mixture of fun plans and laughter . We all live and learn as we go along . If u were my son I would be proud of u 😊
It’s all about learning and living. If you aren’t learning, you aren’t living and if you aren’t living you aren’t learning. Just have fun and learn while you’re doing it and laugh as much as you can about the mistakes you make along the way. It makes for a very adventurous life. Just be smart and very careful while you’re doing and you will live to tell many stories. Looking forward to watching your journey ❤❤❤❤❤…….So far so good……..❤❤❤❤
Continuous improvement is the principle to follow. Perfection is a waste in time. Thank you for sharing your dream. Here in San Antonio, Texas it has been over 100 degrees for about 2 weeks. We are cool now in the high 90’s. Looking forward to your challenges and how you will create solutions. Peace out! Carpe diem!
You are a natural at narrating and have the voice for it , you are a very intellegent young man. loved the spectacular views of the snow covered mountains sucks that you had a sleepless night just part of the adventure and was at least a break from the property, Hey dont beat yourself down your doing fine so you forgot a few things you cant think of everything it's a learning curve , you'll know better next time eh. lovin your video's Mick keep them comin. Ontario Canada.
I really like your videos! They're so inspirational! I love Alaska's sights and love how honest you are with us (ending speech). And you're absolutely right. You are trying and enjoying it too. We enjoy your videos and I'm glad I heard about your videos from your parents! I love watching theirs too!
seriously mick, you're good. better than ye think! welcome to adulthood which is a never ending story... and you're just in your first baby steps of living on your own terms. enjoy your toil as you live your dream, your way, making your future. and what's the very best, it's where ye want to be! on "your land!" continued blessings. 🕊
Mick, your videos are great and well edited - there is nothing wrong with them so don't beat yourself up. You have made huge progress since moving to Alaska on your own and having to rely on yourself. That bridge looked scary, I wouldn't have crossed it. Camping is fun but it is easy to forget things, I forgot my tentpegs once and had to use stones and earth to keep the thing from blowing away, I was distracted and forgot to put the pegs in with the tent. I hope you have a great week.
The Month of Good Enough. Yes! I'm stealing that. Many people say they are perfectionists, please never fall into that self- defeating trap. Good enough actually gets better and better over time. Experience and accepting guidance from those in the know works. All of life is a learning experience eh? Oh and small tip, you gotta lift the whistle bit on the kettle before you pour 😅 Keep it up good Sir and thanks for sharing ❤
So glad you realized that you won't be able to make things the way you envision them on the first try! You're absolutely right: the important thing is you are DOING it. You'll learn as you go along, just as we all must. May God bless you on this journey!
Awe I love your viedos so pure and not scriptEd,I have followed your parents for years and I have showed my grandson your viedos he is 13 so thank you for being so encouraging
Life is a constant pattern of trying, slipping up, learning from mistakes, and trying again. As long as you learn from the experience, then that experience is a success in its own way. Looking forward to your cabin build!
Don't be so hard on yourself, it's summer. I'm a new follower , I have followed your mom and dad for years. Good luck, you sound just like your dad, good narration. Glenda
The hike into the mountains was so funny; coleman stove not working, 40 minutes to heat water, not enough blankets at night. But hey, that's what makes the memories. Hope you all had a nice hot breakfast in town. And to address how much you've gotten done on your land and the cabin, you're doing just fine. It's a big undertaking.
I’m not fond of those bridges either, especially when it also has car traffic🙈. Sometimes my body seems to downshift to first gear when I’m trying to do stuff. God’s little way of slowing me down. I go quickly slowly & slowly go quickly now. Enjoy the experience of a lifetime. Stay awesome Mick!!❤️
Mick, although so many of us and your family are proud of you, it’s most important to be proud of yourself and of the day by day progress you’re making on personal growth and understanding what you need, what your priorities are. Well done and know that you have a lot of support out here in the world. Cheers from Australia. 👏🏻🇦🇺🦘
Your videos are fine. No need for over-editing or anything. The authenticity and simplicity of it is what we enjoy🦋🐃🏕🚙
Agreed ❤
Disagree
Sound is too wonky
Videos are a bit short.
I think when it comes time to monetize your channel videos, have to be a minimum of 10 minutes, I could be wrong.
There's no minimum length as far as monetization is concerned. =) You may be thinking of 10 minutes being the minimal length to run midway ads. If a video is shorter than 10 minutes ads can only run before or after.
Videos are fine. The fact they aren’t so “perfect” adds to the authenticity of your experience.
Don’t worry about it. You’re doing great.
Don’t waste your time improving on your videos. They are fine.
Keep focusing on the build and life.
You are rocking this!
I agree
Couldn’t agree more
Mick you are Amazing just like your mum and dad, you are already successful, enjoy your journey.X💕🏴

You're doing! And learning. And surviving. Fantastic. And the views are fantastic.
You have the perfect voice for narrating videos! You’re doing a great job on your own! 👍
Mick, I laughed at your experience. Growing up is about learning by experience.👍😄❤️

Good idea . A postal address.
I absolutely love your videos! Your narration of your videos is wonderful. Your go get ‘em attitude is so refreshing. Wishing all the best for you and looking forward to your next video. Take care and be safe!
I don't use PayPal either.
Don’t dwell on your perceived inadequacies. Your videos are great. Love that John Denver quote.

Wow!! Some true words of wisdom at the end.
That coming from still a young man.
Impressed.
Enjoyed the video much.

SO, SO, SO TRUE!!!!
A check-off list saves time - a lot of time. After a few trips, you have it memorized and it's just a quick double check.
Mick, I really cannot emphasize how amazing you are doing at your age. Young man you are so far ahead of the game of life. You should pat your self on the back every day and be very proud of the true and authentic man you are becoming.

Every journey starts with a single step. You’ve had the courage to take that first step - you’re learning as you go, and what an adventure!
And remember, if you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there.
Live and learn. Improvise. Plow through. Everyone came back intact. You're doing great. Keep going. Enjoy God's beauty.
Your videos are great fun, and leave us watching out for the next adventure. The mom in me is saying, "Start stacking some winter firewood!"
Don't mind me, you're doing great!
Next video will have all sorts of firewood lol. Thank you, glad you enjoyed it :)

You are amazing kiddo!!
I certainly won’t. Next trip should be a lot more comfortable lol
You can call yourself an Alaskan now
Keep it up Mick looking forward to your cabin build .
You have done so much in a very short period of time! I'm amazed!
Thank you!!
LOL, learn as you go.....we've all been there and it is the only way to go. You're doing great!!
Yeah!
Friends!
Mick, freaking awesome attitude and I myself needed to hear your positive words myself and I'm about to turn 60 yrs old in a couple of months ! Lol
So, GO YOU !!
Good luck to you.😊
As you prepared Ramen, I was reminded of one of your mom's steaks and mushrooms. haha
Your mom can work some magic on a campfire! Especially breakfast.
Thanks for sharing! 💙
Love it! Great narrative! I needed the laughs. Can't wait to join you on your adventure and see what's next. Mom and Dad must be very proud!! It's in your DNA! you got this!! 💙
God bless ya Mick! TY for sharing the journey and showing us God's beautiful creation. I really enjoy your videos and the thoughts you share. ~John
I think we all love your videos and have subscribed because of the way you do your videos!! You don't have to change things! I enjoy your videos!!
I like the music you use and you and your friends are great! I’m sorry it was a rough night. I’m thankful you were all together.
Step by step ,set urself daily / weekly goals u will get there ....but yeah winter will be on u before u know it . Videos are great a mixture of fun plans and laughter . We all live and learn as we go along . If u were my son I would be proud of u 😊
Bushradical: "Son, now that you're 18, Girl in the Woods and I think it's about time for you to start your own Alaska RUclips channel..." 😉
Exactly right, don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. Each journey you take, you learn and grow from it. Look forward to seeing the land progress.
Looking forward to watching your journey ❤❤❤❤❤…….So far so good……..❤❤❤❤
Agreed. You are wise when saying at least you are trying and out there. Blessing to you. I enjoy watching you.
Hey bud , gotta start somewhere !!! Your in a great place to start !!!!! Don't give up !!!!!!!
seriously mick, you're good. better than ye think! welcome to adulthood which is a never ending story... and you're just in your first baby steps of living on your own terms. enjoy your toil as you live your dream, your way, making your future. and what's the very best, it's where ye want to be! on "your land!" continued blessings. 🕊
Awww Mick! You learned alot already! And I bet you won't forget bedding and snacks next time! ha! What an adventure.
Oh and small tip, you gotta lift the whistle bit on the kettle before you pour 😅
Keep it up good Sir and thanks for sharing ❤
So glad you realized that you won't be able to make things the way you envision them on the first try! You're absolutely right: the important thing is you are DOING it. You'll learn as you go along, just as we all must. May God bless you on this journey!
I'm enjoying your videos! Remember, you never eat an elephant all at once, the only way is one bite at a time!
Adulting is tough…even for adults. Celebrate the small victories and keep on keepin on! Loving your content. Keepin it real is the way to go.
Mick, you are doing well. You are finding your way.
One day at a time is all you need and we support your efforts. You got this!
MICK , you are the perfect combination of both your parents. 😊
You're so humble a gracious to your supporters. Thats some good upbringing right there! God bless!
Awe I love your viedos so pure and not scriptEd,I have followed your parents for years and I have showed my grandson your viedos he is 13 so thank you for being so encouraging
You have the right attitude. Trying things. Getting them to work. Things do not have to be perfect - they just have to work well enough.
Life is a constant pattern of trying, slipping up, learning from mistakes, and trying again. As long as you learn from the experience, then that experience is a success in its own way. Looking forward to your cabin build!
So long as you learn something from each experience your on the right track.
Don't be so hard on yourself, it's summer. I'm a new follower , I have followed your mom and dad for years. Good luck, you sound just like your dad, good narration. Glenda
such a fine young man, you should be very proud of yourself!!!!
You are earning your "Masters of Disasters" which is where wisdom grows. I enjoy your channel.
Just the fact that you are evolving is enough. Your videos are fantastic! Keep it up!! 🙏🏻🙌🏼
You are doing great! Just keep moving forward as you are. I love your videos just as they are. Real and authentic.
Your going to do fine. You have a positive attitude.
Mick, although so many of us and your family are proud of you, it’s most important to be proud of yourself and of the day by day progress you’re making on personal growth and understanding what you need, what your priorities are. Well done and know that you have a lot of support out here in the world. Cheers from Australia. 👏🏻🇦🇺🦘
