I have the CRF300L now but considering the T700. I love it off road but it’s hours to the trails. I don’t want to have to trailer my bike everywhere and sometimes I want to take really long touring trips. But of course in every post everyone says don’t ever get the T700 over the CRF300L
My first thought is to have both. That's what I do myself as these bikes are totally different. This being said I get that it's not practical to have 2 bikes for multitude of different reasons. I don't think going from CRF to T7 is a mistake though. It depends so much on the rider, what you like and how you want to use the bike. One word of caution though if you are not Pol Tarres the Tenere is going to be more tricky and "intimidating" to take to the most gnarly trails especially alone. If you are under 5.8" it requires even more attention to ride the big beast well 😁 BUT Tenere is superbly fun to take offroad if you consider it a challenge and it definitely is MUCH more comfortable on the street compared to the small CRF. If you can keep both for a little while you have a better understanding on the differences. You can't go wrong with a T7 😄 It's a fun bike.
@@PatchedBanditthanks for replying! I am a shorter rider so I’d like to get the Tenere 700 Explore for just that little bit lower seat height without losing too much. I think I am missing much longer touring trips like when I did the Trans American Trail. Doing thousands of miles on the CRF sounds painful!
@@Thatbeardedguy86 True. I'm 5 8.5" and I lowered the T7 with the factory lowering link by 18mm.. that's under an inch and it was much better with it to me and I didn't notice any negative effects in handling etc. I know Aprilia might not be something you want or can think as an option as it is never going to be as reliable as the T7 but for someone my size the Tuareg 660 fits like a glove. It is so nice to ride it after owning the T7 as the ergos on that bike are perfect for anyone a tad shorter. Plus the Tuareg is a better tourer in my opinion too. Cruise control is also a great addition.
@@PatchedBandit the Tuareg looks amazing and the size looks perfect too. I’m the same height as you. But with the less reliability and few and far between dealers in the US, it could be a major issue if something goes wrong. I did just watch your video on why you sold the Tenere and it’s making me reconsider. The size and ergonomics don’t quite fit me as well. I’m just blinded by the engine and actually having some power over my 300L
very jealous. I live on an island with very scarce off roading, just basic boring trails and i have to travel by ferry to get to any meaningful TET, but needs planning etc. Going to Latvia in 2 weeks and hoping will get some baltic TET taster. Great roads in Finland, defo on the list.
Thanks! Killer is on! But of course due to the mic levels it can sound a bit louder on video than it actually is. The sound with the killer installed is very pleasant and doesnt get annoying even doing rides like this. I do thend to use earplugs with any bike though.

Still stock in this video

@@advseeker Pitäähän se alueen reittimestaria kehua 😁
@@PatchedBandit 🤣😍🤗
Mahtavat reitit tuolla. Omalle ktm 990 adventure:lle tosin vähän haastavammat, mut hauskat silti. On tullut tuolla useammat hikipisarat tirautettua 😅
Tuo on ihan huippuhauska mettäpätkä! Mukava, että on muillekki maistunu :)
Olihan se kurapyöräily niin lystiä kuin muistelinki! Kiitokset vielä kattavasta koeajomahdollisuudesta 😁🤘
Näkihän sen kun naama oli täynnä hampaita 🤣
