I've been thinking about this mod for my bike. Your video is by far the best install video I have seen for this tank. Keep up the good work!

Finally the right way to do it...
Push IN the little yellow thing inside the black connector a bit - NOT OUT.🤔

@@blackmoonkey I didn't use any parts other than what came with the tank. I did use a pair or slip joint pliers near that time mark.

That is a great video. Thank you for producing it and sharing it. I had one question. I read on Honda’s website that the Honda CRF 300 rally comes with 3.4 gallons. I am assuming the tank you installed is 3.6+ the .6 reserve. Is that correct? Making it 4.2?

    • @arkansasoutdoorschannel1867
      @arkansasoutdoorschannel1867  7 месяцев назад

No its a total of 3.6 gallons. Being fuel injected it does really have a "resrve" like a bike with a petcock has. You have a fuel gauge.

I thought about getting the black version since it was the same color as the factory tank. In the end I decided to switch the color and get the natural one.

nice video! do you think the metal bit that connect the hose to the charchoal hose is a actually a one way valve? otherwise what's the point of the arrow? cheers

How'd you get the orginal washers off the bottom mounting bolts to reuse? These things are on crazy tight.

The gas gauge stays on full for awhile until it gets to stock capacity and then it works like origami.

I was wondering that exact thing. Appreciate that. I can absolutely live with that. If I had a crf300l. Working on selling my race car so maybe this summer. My wife said yes to the xr150l basically. I had just stopped riding on the street after an accident that totalled my gsxr when we got together. She has always been against bikes but if I can't keep my race car I want to have something fun for myself and when he gets older hopefully my son will want a crf50 to match dads bike ❤

Have you found any problems with pressure building up in a tank when you put the check valve with the arrow facing the fuel tank?

    Hey, thanks for the video!
Do you know the diameter of the cap by any chance? I'd like to purchase a locking cap with it but looks like Acerbis has 2 sizes (small/big) but their website is quite unhelpful they don't show the measurements of the tank :(
    Thanks!

They missed the perfect opportunity to delete the charcoal filter, when these bikes fall over the charcoal filter gets flooded up and the bike will not start, it can be done with the tank in situ but when it's off its a much easier job to do, interesting protecting with bubble wrap and plinking a rusty lump hammer on the painted frame, killer idea that, NOT !

Who is riding an uncomfortable dual sport 235 miles between stations though??? This just doesn't make any sense to me. On an adventure bike that's going cross country with a comfortable seat and long road spints state to state sure, that's why those bikes come with these kind of tanks. You'd have to be a glutton for punishment to ride this bike 200 miles. Spending how many hundreds of dollars on a new ugly tank to be top heavier, slower, get worse mileage.... to avoid a 3 minute fill up half as often???🤔 dumbest mod ever.🤷

    • @arkansasoutdoorschannel1867

Thanks for watching and for your opinion. I routinely ride hundred plus mile days on the bike on trail and forest service roads. The larger tank allows me to spend a weekend in the Ozarks without having to come out to town for fuel. As for Adv style rides or long highway rides I normally will ride until I have went about 150 miles then I will start to look for a place for fuel.
