    • @techdude2019
      @techdude2019  2 года назад +2

      that is a active signal resolution problem.

  • @BEAN55B
    @BEAN55B 3 года назад +10

    If your active signal res isn’t the same as the desktop res and u go to all list mode it says ur on the same res as ur desktop but it won’t register just change ur active signal to a random res and then change back to the res ur desktop res was on

      Ya I had a similar issue as well using a stock hp computer with a lower end gtx and hdmi/vga setup on win10 & having something like this when I was trying to run progressive or interlaced and because of cord damage I can only run interlaced when I was changed the signal it didn’t run until I lowered it and set it back (like what you said)

    • @michaeldyaeger
      @michaeldyaeger 2 года назад +2

      That didn't work for me. Even changing the resolution to something else and coming back--the active signal resolution would always be different. :(

    I have one question, when I set the resolution to 1366x768 my monitor reads it as 1440x900 and stretches it out with black bars on the bottom and top. What can solve this?

    • @arjayfc4343
      @arjayfc4343 Год назад

      Have you by any chance found a fix? I seem to be having thesame problem with mine

    • @RocZi
      @RocZi Год назад

      I believe it is the EDID being wrong. Then this will happen. EDID is very technical, no need to read up a lot. just know what it is generally.
      my monitor native is 1440p and i set my desktop resolution as 1440p but active signal resolution is showing 4K. so something is wrong. desktop resolution is being scaled down.
      I confirmed this with my monitor HUD information showing resolution is always 4K and nvidia overlay a NIS text when Image Scaling is turned on. I turn on NIS nvidia control panel settings and this has somehow changed my EDID wrongly.
      So I found out I can use Custom Resolution Utility which is CRU exe from monitortests website. Read the website or watch youtube on how to use and I managed to changed my active signal resolution to the correct 1440p as native resolution and solve a lot of other issues with refresh rate and games fps.

    I look at other people using the same res as me but it is more stretched than mine even tho we have the same reason for example in your video you have 1280x1024 and its stretched but whenever i put the same res it is not stretched more zoomed out, i have been trying to fix this for days, if you know how to fix this please tell me

    • @ironjavelin7482
      @ironjavelin7482 2 года назад +1

      You can try using the scale settings on the desktop native settings menu and the adjust desktop size and position settings in nvidia’s control center if your using nvidia gpus otherwise look for the respective settings for those other companies graphics manager another thing is try your monitor/tv settings built into them that works sometimes as well

    ty that was annoying i had huge bars at both sides of my screen i notices 4096 x 2160 on display so i tryed it out then went back to 3840 x 2160 recommended and then i had the bars because the active signal mode was 4096 x 2160 so the tv was trying to display that but was only getting picture for 3840 x 2160.
    defence is i had to pick another mode in list all modes then apply then go back to 3840 x 2160 and it fixed it because in list all modes it dose not even show 4096 x 2160.

    What terrible music in the background. Sometimes you can't hear what is being said. Furthermore, it is quite distracting.
    Background music does not have to be wrong, but it must be soft in relation to the spoken text and not sung songs. Instrumental only. Then multiple texts do not overlap.
    Unfortunately, your manual does not work with Win 11 for me.

    • @ironjavelin7482
      @ironjavelin7482 2 года назад +1

      No another person actually posted on this depending on your setup your able to fix the signal but changing to a compatible reso that will change the active (so going through the list and trying different resolutions until it does change) then setting it to the one you want if it doesn’t change then something in your hardware does not allow the signal to change

    This did not work for my Pioneer TV which is 1280x768p. Windows keeps forcing the active signal resolution to 1280x720p no matter what I try! This only started happening once I pluged television to the media box and the media box into my pc, before I had the tv straight into the PC and it worked no problem. If anyone has any ideas please help me, im using NVIDIA graphics cards.
