Thanks for this mask. I love fire, and searched google for a fire mask, and found yours. After studying your video, I decided to go to a craft shop. I already had one of those mask templates you can get, and I liked the shape of it, and I saw that the heads cost £10, so I decided to instead modify your idea with my equipment. I glue gunned two layers of fire, spray painted it black, acrylic painted it, glitter glued yellow glitter onto the yellow, orange to the orange and red all over. I attached feathers and everyone else liked mine.
Every single video you upload is awesome. You're too original and always have something to share us. Thank you Klaire, you're such an incredible artist.
I really love how you use glue sticks and nail polish in your tutorials, so people don't overwhelmed thinking they have to use super fancy products to make the masks. I really love these! ^^
i have been making all sorts of items such as jewelry, baby shower booties, knick knacks, and costumes all out of HOT GLUE for the last 5 years..i even have my method patented..yours is WAY AWESOME as well
I'd use a ashy grey or just a white base so the colors really pop while the black will still be on the edges or just the tips but won't dim the colors. Some Feathers would be great too
you are literally such an inspiration! Your youtube is so amazing and I watch your videos every day. You are so creative with your work and although I don't wear make up or tend to do so many art activities, it all inspires me. You are so awesome klaire! Btw my name is Claire :)
Klaire I am such a HUGE fan!!! I've seen all of your videos and just wanted you to know how brilliant you really are!!!! :D I really just want to be your little apprentice! :P Keep on creating! :)
Hi. Your masks are lovely! I would like to know what material would you advice the base mask to be (since I don't have a face cast)? I had a quick look at your blog and didn't find that information if it's in there. I guess the glue will stick too hard to plastic and paper, so... What? Fabric? Or maybe it's the kind of glue sticks you use? Thank you.
So beautiful i love your masks i was wondering though if you didn't want to use a face cast could you use one of the plastic masks you can buy in craft shops or would the glue melt it? :)
It's easy enough put some elastic thread through the sides but for me personally I'll be using glue dot's to hold it onto my face so that I don't need the string :)
I love it, and it's kind of funny how just a couple days ago I suggested to my friend that it would be cool if you made a flame mask c: I would really like to see the make up for this!
I lovelovelove your mask DIYs. Thank you soso much! Funny how just a couple of days before your first masquerade mask DIY I had been thinking hard about how to make one..:3
What is your face cast made of? I use a plastic one and it doesn't melt from the hot glue but it is makes it very difficult to peel off the glue. Do you know what I can use or do to solve this problem?
it looks really great you really got talent for that and magic hands but i cant understand what is the thing that becomes black please answer becouse i realy want to make that mask its soooooooo cool :D
Is there any way you can do this without using the face cast? Some other tutorials use a template with plastic wrap over it, so I'm wondering if it's at all possible to do that same with this mask design.
I want to do a masquerade wedding but mask for everyone would cost to much. I was thinking about making it fun and having a before party were the guest make their mask themselves so how long does it take you to do one make?
SUPER COOL AND CREATIVE! I'm going to try this, but i really think it would be way cooler if you used acrylic paints and stuff to make the colors pop more and plus you'd save your nail polish. ;D
I'm sure you could use any paint instead, but nail polish has a glossier, shinier finish than most paints, and with a fire mask in particular you'd want it to catch a lot of light.
Looks great! I was just wondering how you were picking up the rhinestones. It looks like you're using a q-tip...did you put something on it to stick to the rhinestones? What did you use that was sticky enough to pick them up but not so sticky that they won't come off? Thanks! Also, I've subscribed so please keep making videos!
So I'm totally going to do these masks, seems like an awesome project, and pretty simple. I'm wondering though if there is any specific reason for using nail varnish over other kinds of paint like acrylic. I also paint miniatures as a hobby and I think that those paints would give better color and more coverage than nail varnish, as well as give the drybrushing more depth and color. Excellent video though, thank you.
What kind of glue are you using? I tried to make this and it turned out okay, but it doesnt hold it's shape very well and is rather floppy.. Any tips on how to make it more rigid?
could you do this but instead of doing both eyes, just do it around 1 eye, and half way around the other one? IDK how to explain what I mean but something like that?
I love the mask! Although, if I were making it, I'd probably leave the area around the eyes black and just put red around the edges, but that's just me.
i had to create and masquerade mask for art and i used your ice queen mask and i got an A and highest mark in my whole year!!!! What im getting at is THANK YOU!!!!!!! i did give you credit dont worry haha!!
I want to make this soooo soo baaaaad but I don't have a face cast :( .... can I use any other thing like a mask or something?? I really want to do this!!!
Would you mind looking into a fire crown for males? I feel that the fire mask is more masculine and so it would be cool to use this and the Ice/Snow Queen mask/crown combo at a convention or dance as a couple with someone...
Awesome. Have you ever worked with a thermal polymer material? Today playing with a bag of instamorph, wanting to make a masquerade mask, and came across this amazing video.

For all of those wondering, you can also do this with a flat template and then run the dried hot glue under warm/hot water and form it to your face!
Thank you!
Great idea; many thanks!
Oh my gosh thank you so much !!!!! You’re a life saver
Thank you so much for sharing. Love all your tutorials. You are so talented. I'm im awe that you dont have a gazillion hot glue strings everywhere.
This is gorgeous! I need to get one of those plastic head shapes.
Thanks for this mask. I love fire, and searched google for a fire mask, and found yours. After studying your video, I decided to go to a craft shop. OMG this is genius why have I never thought of doing this ? You always blow my mind !
I used the hot glue to make my Ocean queen crown and choked but I used acrylic for pain and spray finish is that ok :3
Doent the clear nail polish you use for gluing on the stones make the sparkle of the stones disappear ?!?
So beautiful i love your masks i was wondering though if you didn't want to use a face cast could you use one of the plastic masks you can buy in craft shops or would the glue melt it? :)
great tutorial!!!...awesome looking mask!! have you tried using white as a base color? the rest of the color might pop better that way!
It's easy enough put some elastic thread through the sides but for me personally I'll be using glue dot's to hold it onto my face so that I don't need the string :)
Beautiful! Is there an easy way to do this w/o a face cast?
Have you tried making one of these with a brown, red, or orange background? I think that would really make the colors stand out even more!
I love it, and it's kind of funny how just a couple days ago I suggested to my friend that it would be cool if you made a flame mask c: I would really like to see the make up for this!
