- Chai is India's lifeline. It is the beverage that suits all sort of mood and feelings and even seasons. But primarily it is the panacea for a drabness, exhausting and weariness. When you have favourite chai in front of you, the world around seems to stop. For the majority it is thing that kickstarts the day. So in today's episode we are embarking on a Chai trail across Old Delhi with renowned chef cum author Pallavi Nigam whose
Our first stop in this tour was Jain Pavitra Chaach Bhandar where we bought few slices of their famous safed makhan and bread to be had with tea. It is one of the three items that that you get over here, the other two being chaas and makhan. Pallavi was quite excited to try these savoury bread - butter combo with tea so from there we reached Saleem Tea stall in Matia Mahal. It is an old tea shop where the cutting chai is prepared by mixing the brew with milk and sugar. As a result one can customise the degree of strongness of the brew. The bread makhan and chai combo was truly unbeatable.
The next stop was Kashmiri Restaurant near Jama Masjid where we tried the famous noon cha. It is a salty butter tea quintessential to Kashmir. We paired it with khamiri roti just like the locals do.
After that we went to Omkar Nankhatai wale in Chnadni Chowk whose nankhatai is deemed as the best in the locality. These indigenous shortbread like cookies made fresh on portable charcoal oven were soft, crumbly, buttery and luscious. We got some packed for our next destination which was Kailash Chand Jain. Here we gulped down a cup of golden chai. It is a rich beverage that is flavoured with saffron and almonds.
From there we went to a swanky tea room in one of Delhi's best hotels Shangrila Eros named Mister Chai. Chef Gagandeep treated us to masala chai along with a range of scrumptious snacks like namak pare, keema samosa, bombay sandwich and butter chicken samosa. Here we also met Laxman Rao Ji who is a writer cum tea maker. His inspiring life stories made our evening.
Since Pallavi was still not done with the tea thing, we went to Juhi's Tea in Friends Colony for a light and refreshing cup of ginger lemon tea.
Finally we got some awesome mathi packed from the famous Inder Kumar Mathiwale and went to Sudama Chai point beside DU North Campus. The place was bustling with students and office goers. Here we tried an aromatic cup of rose and whole spices based tea. But the whole fun part was the vibe over there.
Finally we ended the chai chai trail at AMA cafe with a cup of butter tea and apple pie. It was indeed a fascinating experience for Pallavi to discover so many diffet kinds of amazing tea.

My my... bahut badhiya video for tea lovers... so many varieties offered to choose from... be it the doodh wali 'service tea' ... the 'kashmiri namkeen chai'... the royal golden chai or the 'badam kesar tea' ... the sophisticated 'tea lay out' at mister cafe (with crafted ceramic kettles as the backdrop)... the warm n refreshing honey, ginger, lemon tea... tea wth tulsi n rose petals... and last the 'butter chai'... amazing...

Anubhavs demeanor is very endearing and quiet, while exploring the food with the people whom he converses with, thus setting him apart from food bloggers who are loud and boisterous who think that it is their energy that sells the vlog.
