I was lucky to see her in this twice and in other shows. As the star of my first musical obsession, Mame, I feel like I owe her a lot for enticing me into a life of musical theatre 🖤

This character is so reminiscent of the Dowager Countess from Downton Abbey.
She was better than Hermione Gingold, the original Madame Armfeldt. Gingold relied on her eccentricity. Lansbury acts it.
