Been a working Blues guitarist for many years. Cannot wait to get started on a 3 string guitar :-) It is a whole 'nother world.
Every thing you put out has been a sheer pleasure an joy to see, enjoy and experiment with. As a fellow CBG enthusiast, I thank you deeply.
A train whistle going off in the background would sound awesome. Im a bassist first and what you explain is true of bassist. Pop, slap, slam, smack!
Apart from everything I love about this video ; I really love that you are using a bolt for your nut ! Such a great idea. Everything n here kicked ass, great job.
The bolt is the greatest DIY nut ever. Strings don't move!
Excellent, many thanks Shane. I also got your book for Christmas - it's great!
Man...You're so inspirational..Really loving these Video Tutorials.Best wishes from Sunny South Australia buddy.
Thank you, Paul!!!
You'll like this, Shane. I'm working on this style. For picking, I adapted a variation of the picking style in Glenn Watt's 1 Finger Lessons. I strum with my nails, which gives it a washboard Scratch effect.
sweet!
Shane Speal what do you think of 4 string cigar box guitars
Brilliant, this rocks
Very thanks for your tutorials! are great!
Thank you, Jose! More to come!
Thank you. Again, you rule.
Playing drums definitely helped me. Played drums most of my life when I picked up the guitar at age 30...the strumming was a breeze!
Even Dave Grohl approaches guitar like he's playing drums: ruclips.net/video/XwwSZoimr2A/видео.html
Shane Speal yep...sure does! I think having a drumming background helps with playing guitar so much! A few friends of mine were trying to learn guitar around the same time as me...age 30 at the time. They had a lot more trouble getting the strumming right than I did. It just comes out if you when you have that experience !
It takes time to master this technique, but once is done, it smokes. Thanks Shane, for slicing it down.
Just remember, I've been doing this for 23 years. You'll get it...and a lot faster than I did.
are you strumming all 3 stings at once on the main riff?
So shane, are you muting when you do the downstroke on all the strings, and if so, how do you mute so quickly
Bad. Ass.
You must be one bad (good) drummer!!
"bad"...as in bad :)
Your out of tune pal...
