Still watching Shane’s old stuff it’s awesome 😎
Your enthusiasm is contagious! Finally something contagious we can be happy about.
Shane your very generous in taking the time to help spread the blues and giving away cbg former board member of the northeast blues society
Greeting Shane From England 👋🏼 your videos was where it all started on my cigar box guitar Journey! Keep them coming 👏🏼
School weren't like this when I was a kid. Thanks professor.
Good idea showing this on fretted and non-fretted setups. Turn-arounds really make a song pop.
More gold from the King! Nicely presented Mr. Speal!
Thanks 🙏 for the beginner lessons I watch them over and over!
I love how you broke this down into very nice bite sized chunks. Thank you.
Easy to make the strum practice sound like playing the blues. Thanks Shane.
Great stuff Shane, England needs you...
Thanks ! You really have the knack for explaining and demonstrating in a way a new player can see and understand.
@shanespeal I never realised until now just how important rhythm is to music genres. Rhythm hand, note/chord hand...easy peasy, lemon-squeezy, thank you, oh mighty one!
Oh yeah, another day at the University; thanks to the Spealmeister🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Loved this one too! You have taken the funnest instrument in the world and opened up a bunch of possibilities. Looking forward to the next one!
Great combo with your last video
Thank you! I always appreciate your smile and positivity 😎 You are a natural teacher!
Just realized my foot was tapping to MY heartbeat. I picked up my fretted guitar tuned to GBD and just played the bottom D string, like you said before, just go for it. I liked the harmony and I was just playing by ear. First time. Thank you, Shane.
Shane really has the licks. And now I need a 3 string!
Thanks for these lessons, Shane. It's basic building blocks and I look forward to seeing what's up the pipe. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Shane for getting back to blues basics for old hackers like me. Been building for a few years now and I need to spend more time learning by a process instead of just random lick and tricks. Keep the fretless blues lessons coming.
I’m with ya Tom!
Another great lesson! Thanks for taking the time to create and post these videos; breaking the riffs down into their simplest parts helps it all make sense.
finally, I video I don't have to slow down to keep up with. I'm getting betterish.
Again, I really appreciate you teaching the "smaller" things, they all add up and add to your blues arsenal.
Again, great basic riffs. This rundown must be used on hundreds of blues tunes and is a must-have lick for playing blues. Combined with your 12-bar lesson you have enough to begin to impress your friends. Nice work!
Also, the use of a slide guitar is a great idea. No real need to worry about fretting for good old time blues, a slide and three strings does it all. Thanks!
Impress your friends, get the girl!
Great teaching video Shane!
MY FAVORITE BLUES TEACHER
My favorite blues student!
Thanks, Shane! Another great lesson!
Running down the Blues intro! Love It! Keep up the lessons!
I appreciate you including for fretted as well as fret less. I am still figuring out how to work the slide 1 handed. Your lessons are great!
You hit it out of the ball park Shane, with the Blues university lessons.
Another great video lesson for the ultra beginner. I really like your focus on the picking hand as my experience with other video lessons is that they leave you guessing on what to do with the picking hand. Please keep the Blues University lessons coming. Thank you so much. BE Well!!!
Thanks Shane. You got me started playing 3 strings. Great lesson!!!
Again, taught the way I prefer. Individual goals taught and reviewed, then blended together into a smooth lesson. Then, a preview of some future steps.
Having trained and taught individuals with developmental disabilities and brain injuries, I find this method to be very successful for imparting new skills to beginners!
Thanks for the lesson! Keep the blues lessons coming!
Lesson 2, oh yeah! I haven't cut a class yet, this the best University I have ever attended. Don't tell me I can't go back to school, I'm only 72 years old, and playing the CBG makes me feel like it's 1967 all over again, and I'm back in my dorm room as a Freshman art student. You ain't just a Perfesser, you be Dean Speal, head of the School of Bluesiosity! Bring on Lesson 3!!!!!!!
More great stuff - thoughtfully presented, no assumptions made about the skill level of the viewer. Thanks!
Another great video Shane! I like how you spent time on the picking hand and slide hand. I need to keep practicing my picking. More future videos with equal time on the picking will be appreciated! Thanks Shane!
The close up on the picking and fretting is exactly what I needed. Great lesson.
I am about to get brave enough to go with a fretted 3 stringer...thank you for keeping me intrigued. Thanks for the slide tutorials.
Thanks for all you do to promote the cult of theCBG!!! I just got building poor mans guitars and am working on my first guitar, so next step is learning to play it. So I'm enrolling in blues university!
Killing these instructional videos good Sir!
Sweet! Really enjoying the licks, thanks for taking a moment to show slide playing on fretted guitar. Excellent content Shane, Thank you, Thank you!! Lets jam \m/
You’ve always ‘set the standard’ for home grown guitars & CBG music. Keep it coming!!!! Bring in some guests as well!!!!’
KEEP TEACHING BROTHER, WE ARE LISTENING N LEARNING. THANKYOU.
I like how you take you time explaining how exactly you are strumming. A lot of videos I have watched I have no idea what strings are being strum or what pattern is being used. You explain everything, so even someone like me can understand. Thanx
Sometimes I have to give myself cue cards ahead of time so I can remember which notes I’m actually playing! LOL
Chapeau Monsieur Speal! Merci beaucoup for the awesome lessons! It’s great fun! You’re a benevolent teacher!
