This is one of the coolest reviews. I haven’t seen anyone else do this. Thanks so much! I am expecting my new 2023 HR-V in a little over a week and this only confirms my decision.
Headlights are very good. I've never liked auto high beams but honda lands the sensitivity. And the normal beams are plenty bright and wide for my standard. I would recommend sitting low so the reflections of signs are more visible. Got one of these a month ago. Very smooth and safe vibe.
Awesome video, I am going from a 2016 rav4 limited w/ projector style LEDs that I absolutely loved on my 200+ mile a day commute (was totaled in a hail storm/tornado in May) to a new 23 HRV that is finally coming in next week. My major worry was stepping back to reflector style headlights but these seem pretty good. Thanks again 👍🏻
'Nice videography. This HR-V is a huge improvement over the original one (and I like it much better than the "elegantly-styled" Euro version). I can only hope Honda gives it a more-powerful *and* economical hybrid powertrain before I buy the upcoming Corolla Cross Hybrid next year.
This is the coolest video. I love to see the led lights reflect off grass and other things because it seems so much brighter and crisp. The rain and the music was icing on the cake! Great video🎉❤
Thank you for doing night driving videos. I have a 2020 CRV EX and the stock lights are halogens and horrible. LED with a wide field is very important to me on my next purchase.
Beautiful car. Wish there were hybrid/plug-in option so I can get one now. I'll be patient but so many nice subcompact vehicles coming out, I may go with another. I have a Toyota now but have always loved Honda.
I have this same Car, EX-L version and the lights are a lot brighter and better in person than on this video. I have not had any issues with the lighting at night or in dark garages. I actually think car interior lights should allow you to see while not being too bright bc its hard to see the road if someone turns them on while driving.
Great video, as always. So high quality and thorough, and I believe you are probably the only one or primary one that does night lighting videos for the vehicles you review. The HR-V lighting looks great, despite lacking illumination in some areas. I believe there are a lot of aftermarket options I could rectify those problems with. This is the primary vehicle I am considering, a FWD Sport in Urban Grey Pearl with the black exterior emblems that should be included for the Sport, but some dealerships put them in, anyway. I believe you were driving the EX-L when you were commenting about the rocking problem. I believe the Sport trim of the HR-V and Civic have stiffer suspensions than the LX and EX-L trims. If it's still an issue on the Sport due to the higher ride height than the Civic, I believe the Eibach coil springs for the Civic would probably fit the HR-V Sport and rectify the problem. They have two sets of those springs. A Pro Kit and Sport Kit. I forgot which it the more moderate one with less lowering that would be ideal, unless you want it dropped more and a little stiffer. I will see if I would need or want it when I get mine. It is well equipped for the price as I expect, and what it lacks that is important to me probably can be addressed with aftermarket accessories.
Great video!!! The headlights do look like they shine too high in regular mode. Overall this looks like a great vehicle. Basic and simple. Would like fog lights though.
I just got my HR-V and though the lights are very bright, nobody has flashed lights at me yet. I believe you can lower the beams with a longish Phillips screwdriver.
I just bought 23Hrv, and I have a problem that the headlights are very bright at night, so many cars coming from the opposite side mistakenly think that I turn on the high beam. Is there any way to solve this problem?
@@MikesCarInfo hello! i actually have this same issue (i got flashed four times in 20 minutes tonight). where do you go to get it adjusted? can you do it yourself?
Hello to all, I have a question to ask to any 2023 HRV owner, after you lock your car doors, please look in the cargo area and see if the cargo led lights are on, mine stays on but very dim, asked the dealer they said there is nothing wrong with it, please make sure you are in a dark location either inside your garage or at night time, you will be a great help, thank you.
Great video Mike! After driving all through the video, how is the acceleration? It seems to be pretty 50/50 on the thought that you can go fast or pass by other cars with ease? How do you feel
@@stevennavarro1135 I’ve had mine since November and it’s a dream! So I think it’s all about what you’re comparing it to lol. I had a Nissan Xterra before so its plenty fast to me as a commute car with a sport mode. Passing is easy going 70+ on the highway
Better than my 2019 Hyundai Veloster. My lights are down low, I can’t see like this hrv distance. Stresses me out because I hit 3 curbs already 😭 planning to change my car to this.
I recently got my HRV Sport and I’ve been noticing that the headlights are not very strong during night driving. They are some of the weakest headlights I’ve ever had in a car. It’s really starting to bother me when cars with normal halogens drives by and illuminates my side and makes me realize how weak they are.
the only thing I could say is the other drivers from the other side of the lane two way lane some drivers thinks my high beam are turn ON the way the Honda design the headlights two low beam on each side HIGH BEAM in between two low beam that's why some drivers thinks my High beam are turn ON some drivers hate it drivers flashes their high beam on me
Never mind the lack light in the glove box and the storage area. How about the stupid lousy underpowered engine in this thing??!! Honda cars are becoming lousier by the day!!! This thing does not have an arm rest, vents or even USB outlets for the back passengers to charge their devices!!!.
I love the thunderstorm in the background.

That was some cool footage driving at night with the thunder lighting up the sky
Perfect timing for that storm footage. Looks really cool ⚡️
I liked the glowing hand 😆🥰
Wow!! This is my most favorite Honda SUV.
Good job with your content as always Mike.

Thanks Mike for the review. First I'm see on the SUV did at night. I purchasing a HR-V next year.

👉Excellent video Mike👈
makes me want to buy 1
the rear blinkers is orange or red?
Sounds like a little less Road Noise inside the interior cabin compared to my 2022 HR-V LX AWD built this past March, delivered to me in June
Love the night videos. RUclips, for the love of all that is holy, fix the damn sex bot spam!
Does the rear view mirror dim?
Is the thunderstorm a edit you put or was it original? Lol just curious as it looks really good.
All real. I slowed down the footage in some scenes but it is all recorded in camera.
I just bought 23Hrv, and I have a problem that the headlights are very bright at night, so many cars coming from the opposite side mistakenly think that I turn on the high beam. Is there any way to solve this problem?
Have the low beams adjusted down a little. Some new vehicles come from the factory adjusted too high.

Turn on the rear glass defogger.
Doesn't the dome lights in back seat area sensors as you can wave your hand near them to turn them on or off
You have to touch them. Tap to turn on, tap again to turn off. Hours of fun for the kids :)
Great video Mike!

No it will not pass other cars with ease. Normal driving is fine but it is not going to accelerate fast.
Test drove one today and it is ridiculously slow

Sounds like they need to be adjusted. It can be done easily with a screwdriver.
Is it true this car has bad acceleration? I’m looking into getting a small suv and i really like this but I’ve heard that it’s dangerously slow
It is fairly slow. If you need to accelerate quickly on your roads to merge with traffic then this may not be the best choice for you.
i get anxity looking at the two way car going 50mph
It is so sad that the manufacturers tend to remove the fog lights. They illuminate the nearby area. Only with the headlights there is a huge dark gap.
Why does it sound like you have a window open while it’s raining?
😁👍🏼
The auto hi beam issue is a honda thing...my civic takes forever seemingly to switch to and from hi beam. My mazda cx30 is instant.
If you go to the settings page for the auto high beams, you can adjust the sensitivity. That might help.

thanks for sharing. one of my deal breakers is weak headlights :(. I might just go with the Lexus UX.

Have them adjusted by the dealer. People flash because they are being blinded.
Why do they call it 2023 if we’re still in 2022?
