I bought the stamps on your suggestion they are more pricey than most but man do they make clean beautiful patterns! Thanks for the suggestion. I am a definitely a new customer. No more wasting money on junk tools!
If you don't mind me asking, what stamps did you purchase. I have watched this video several times and I love it. But I would love to get the stamps that is used. I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me out with the stamp tool numbers.
Thank you. This particular technique does take a little bit of time but it looks cool. You can see the results better on the back side where there is less tooling.
I was shopping the net to buy a scabbard just like this when I found this video. I have read the other comments and I see that you don't make them to sell...... VERY DISAPPOINTING for me. So, here is my question..... can you direct me to someone who can make one EXACTLY like this one but with basket weave and a Cross on the front? I cannot express deeply enough, EXACTLY like this! Too the exact high quality level of work of this one!! NOTHING LESS! GOD has given you a Very Special GIFT to be able to do this level of work that is for sure! If you can help it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for Glorifying JESUS with your channel! Thank You!
Thank you very much. I’m not sure I know anyone who makes this exact pattern because it is one that I designed myself. But if you are able to find someone who can make you one feel free to have them copy it as much as they like. Again, thank you and I’m sorry I’m not able to help more.
Thank you for your video, I have two questions? why did you put the tape on the back, and can you convert this pattern to make a single mag pouch. love this design thank you so much. chet
I would really like to have one made for my Jumbo Trappers , I've looked and looked for a production model but no one makes one for the Jumbo Trapper .
I really enjoyed watching you work, but with all the time in making this work of art, what would you charge? I would think that there would be more time in the workthann in what the peace is worth.
As someone who is interested in getting into leather work I picked up a few tips just from watching you. I like the dauber you made with the orange handled clamp, neat idea. One suggestion though; maybe slow down and show the labels a little more clearly? If someone is interested in learning this skill they are probably going to be interested in the products you use. I could even read the label on one bottle after three tries at half speed.
@@KingdomGloryLeather No worries, I get it. I'm a woodworker and I only build things for me and my family. I'm Always looking to support those in the Kingdom. Sad I can't purchase your stuff, but looking forward to watching more videos. Thanks, God bless.

Silly question from someone that is new leather crafting, would you flip the template over to make a left-handed sheath?? BTW, I'm learning so much from watching you and others of your skillset. Thanks for putting out wonderful content!
Thank you so much. The way these sheaths are made they can go on the left side of your body or the right side. It works either way. But if you have different designs on each side of the sheath you need to be mindful when making it that you put your show side design on the correct piece.
The Osborne 1-3/4” punch, how hard is it to cut thru the leather. I just got one and I am having a hard time punching thru. It has been sharpened by the person who sold it to me. What is your table and base that you are using under the punch?
I use a rubber mallet and mine cuts through leather pretty easy. I have never really had any trouble punching through. I have a 1.5” thick piece of granite under my punching mat.
Thank you. I get this question a lot. The tape keeps the leather from stretching and deforming while tooling. Once all the tooling is done you can take the tape off the backside.
I have a question. I am using the same light brown you are but it is turning out very maroon. are you thining out your dye? or am i just over saturating the leather? my light brown looks like your dark chocolate.
Why do you put packaging tape over the smooth surface and do you ever remove it. New leather worker who loves your work, but I am confused by the tape.
Thanks. I put tape on the backside of the leather to help prevent it from stretching & deforming during the tooling process. One done and dry I remove the tape.
Great job I’ve been wanting a nice leather holster for my 1911 with light in that style but every time I see one they aren’t made for lights and quality isn’t great
When you tool/stamp wet leather it can stretch and deform. The tape helps prevent the leather from stretching while tooling. When done tooling you take the tape off.
What an amateur! He cuts and front and a back right away. Unlike pros like me who cut like 6 fronts before remembering to flip the danged pattern! ;). Well done!

I couldn’t quite see the bottle, but are you using some sort of deglazer to fade the dye?
No deglazer, just regular Fiebing’s leather dye followed by Fiebing’s antique.
What size thread? It looks good!
.06mm
pretty cool.
Thanks.

Really nice work. I have a question regarding wet forming and tooling leather. Do you tool before you wet form or wet form before you tool?
Thanks. In my experience if I’m doing any wet forming I usually don’t tool those particular pieces.
What is the punch that you use to make the large holes for the belt
1-3/4” oval punch for C.S. Osborne

What happened with the tape? Was it removed at some point or is it on the inside of the holster?
It was removed after tooling.

Search for needle bottles on eBay.

@@KingdomGloryLeather would you purchase the 4mm punches again or would you go with a different size? Just curious.
4mm is a good size for small goods. I have a cheaper set of 6mm irons I use for bags and larger projects.

What are those flat applicators you use for dying the insides of the belt loops?

Cómo se llama ese tipo de funda
Not sure.
When did the tape come off?
After tooling.
I'm fairly new to leather crafting, a few projects under my belt. As others I'm learning from you and others, my question is, why the tape?
Thank you. I get this question a lot. The tape keeps the leather from stretching and deforming while tooling. Once all the tooling is done you can take the tape off the backside.

Hello. I use EcoWeld contact adhesive. Everything I use is listed in the description.

Do you take the packing tape off after you finish the tooling? Or is it just while you case the leather?
Take it off after tooling.
I've never seen the tape method what's the point??
Out of curiosity, what's with the packing tape on the back side?
Applying tape on the back of the leather before tooling prevents the leather from stretching and deforming.
@@KingdomGloryLeather OH!!! That's an awesome tip!!! I'm just getting into leather craft myself. Made a few wallets and belts so far!!
