Great instuction on a fairly easy project for a old beginner like myself. Your videos are some of the best instuctional straight forward ones I have seen. Another plus to me is you are a fellow pipe smoker. LOL Al
I really enjoyed watching this video. I have ZERO hand-eye coordination but after watching your video, I want to order a bunch of your templates, Barry King tools, Steel Stamp Makers Mark and leather to start making sheaths. Nicely done!
You carry the same pocket knife I do. I bought these in Branson, Mo. I bought one to carry with a wood handle. And they had another with a bone handle with their name and it says "Celebration 2000". It was on a little wooden display stand. I asked if I bought the knife, could I the stand also. It sits on its stand in a shadow box in my bedroom. I collect knives and swords and have over 150. But this is the knife I carry. I'll have to try to make one of these sheath for mine.
i got yor templates for pankecake knife sheath i was very suprised at how heavey duty they are got them from tandy leather very very nice good job1 ouf ten i give a them a 10 got floral design to i'm very happy with them happy thanks giving
Very nice tutorial, it helps a lot, thank you. Since you mentioned pancake holsters, do you have any other templates for holsters on your website? I am already buying a few things from the website and I didn't see them. You mentioned people commenting on you not being very organized but the way I see it, this is real live action video and not everything happens on script. How would you approach a molded holster? What kind of sealant would you use (if you wanted to) ? Once again, thank you for the great tutorial and keep up the great work.
Just bought this template yesterday and watched your video. Anxious to get started, your finished product looked great. Can you share where you found the stitching pony in this video? It looks amazing.
Hey Aaron! Big fan! I’ve been following you for about a year now. I was going to purchase the Texas basket weave stamp that you use in the video, but it was out of stock...I checked on the website for Barry King and they don’t have that stamp at all...sad day. Do you know when you would be able to have them back in stock? Much love and support from San Marcos!
@@daverobb8311 It really is not designed for that. Normally for a fixed blade knife you will want to sew in a welt so that you do not cut through your stitches.
Great video! Just starting to get into leather working myself. Being a Case knife guy, I'm gonna have to give this one a try. I'm also a pipe smoker... so, I must ask, what kind of pipe is that? Looks very nice. Thanks again for the video. Take care. - Jim
I like the Template. Is there any cheaper way to ship it to Germany? I tried on your website and it said nearly 50$. This is a great Idea for smaller Cutoffs.
You could try an Aramex, Shop and Ship account. World-wide shipping addresses linked to your destination address. Typically cheaper than FedEx, DHL, UPS.
I have been doing leather work for years now and have seen this video listed on RUclips quite often. I finally clicked on it this morning during my 1st coffee break, just to see how you could possibly take over 1 hour to explain how to build a simple pancake style knife sheath for a folding pocketknife? I got 30 seconds into the video and found out the reason why I hadn't subscribed to your channel nor have any of your videos on my "save" list. I have had to speak in public for many years and I faced the same problem until one of my students pointed this same thing out to me. So, please don't take this personally as I have already "been there and done that". It is simply your constant use of the hesitant word (if it even qualifies as a "word"), ***** UMMMM *****! That HAS to be the most annoying sound to come out of a "trainer's" mouth, when your viewers are trying to learn something or simply pick up some new hints and tips on procedural steps, from laying out the pattern to the finished product. I know that you probably don't even realize that you are doing this, and I don't mean to demean your message to your viewers but, personally, I cannot stand such utterances as "Ummm", "ya know", and "Ahhh" to list a few. They reflect a lack of style in your presentation and an unsure presence with what you want to say next in your dialogue. I would only suggest watching other leatherworkers, such as Don Gonzales, Bruce Chaney, and any other seasoned presenters on RUclips, there are hundreds to choose from, and listen to their dialogue and their presentations. You will find that, in most cases, they may utter something similar maybe twice during a 20-minute presentation. Hell, I do this occasionally if I am gathering my thoughts together for an impromptu presentation or to answer a question. But you used the "Ah" and "Umm" and "ya know" utterances no less than 10 times in 30 SECONDS! Check it out if you have any doubts, that amounts to about say, 55 "interruptions" per minute to give you a break to breathe occasionally, and that is way more than my mind cares to be interrupted by such distractions in a video. If you take just 3 seconds to utter 10 "ah's and um's", you waste about 10% of your total video with useless utterances! Who wants to listen to over 6 minutes of distractions when they are trying to learn something? Think about it ..... e
Ummm. You should have watched the rest.... ummm there's good information throughout the video. Ummmm. Yea. Sorry you're so bothered by how I speak, lots of folks learn a lot from my videos because they care about learning leatherwork. If you prefer to learn from others because you don't want to hear "um" then go for it.
Thank you, for passing on your knowledge to us beginners.
Great tips, I think I will try this project. Not sure if I can do the basket weave, but I will try. Thanks for all your efforts, I enjoy your videos.
I ordered your template I hope it fits a Buck 110 if not I guess I can modify. I enjoy your videos your explanations are easy to follow. Thank you.
Thanks for the video, learned a lot. I also share the love and respect for the state of Texas, and in your choice of music.

Another great video. Being unorganized is part of the fun. I just placed another template order a little while ago. Thanks again.
I agree! Cuz that's how I am all the time so I feel like I'm in good company! Lol

Will this template set work for a buck 110. It is a bit larger than the knife you are making this for.

Do you guys have buck 110 templates
Is the free paper template correct size or do I need to downsize before printing
@trezmunguia4561 if your printer does not scale it, it should print actual size.
@@makersleathersupply1220 awesome thank you just looked kinda big to me
is hard to make one for left handed person love the video watched four five times so for
Nice work, how long would it take you without instruction tips and tricks?
what awl are you using to punch your stitch holes?
Would it fit a leatherman
No, you'd have to stretch the sides and make it wider for a multi tool like that.
What is the ool conditioer you use in this video?
.Very good job, well explained. How do I get the molds or template.
and what color did you put on the last one?
It was made so long ago I honestly do not remember.
Who makes that stiching pony?
Glad to see your back. Are you open tomorrow
Where can I buy the pattern you use.i am from the Netherlands and I like to buy the pattern
You can get a free download on our website.
Hello. I´m Carlos from Argentina. Nice holster! I have a Glock 19 myself. Could you make a tutorial to make one of that ? Thank you!!
In your hand stitch what do you do to know how much line you need..
I'm always short myself
Most folks say 4x the perimeter. However i have no problem splicing if I come up short. Beats pulling a lot of extra thread through every hole.

It was made by a fellow named Dave Swallow. He makes tool racks and stitching clamps and other wooden things. He has a page on Facebook and Instagram.
How much for the hammer.
That is a C as Russlock knife. How much do you sell those seaths for and how do you order them. I carry a Russlock well.
Case, sorry
Nice instruction. What weight leather are you using?
What is the leather oil conditioner that you use?
What size is the big punch you use and where do I get one at?
Ps. Big fan. I'm a beginner and learning a lot with your video. Thank you.
Hi there. It's a 1 3/4" oblong punch. The one I use is CS Osborne and we sell the on our site when we can actually get them in stock.
How much thread do you pull off .
4 to 5 ft should do just fine if saddle stitching
How much of an angle does it have on a belt???
I never measured, but probably about 25-30 degreea

I have a huge order in with Barry and we are hoping to receive it any day now.
Is sewing around the belt loops not necessary? Do you stitch around them on your pancake holsters?
It is not necessary on these due to their small size. I do sew around the loops when making a holster.
Much easier (and faster I guess) to draw the contour of the template with a pen first...
Can someone send me the Linkage to get a template I would like to buy one
Www.makersleathersupply.com
Can anybody send me the link i so but in about a template
Quick question: to make this suitable for lefties can the template be flipped over?
Yes, just tool or decorate the other side.
Very much so.
Where did you get your scalpel handle?
New to this. What ounce maul do you use to stamp with?
When just tooling I use a 16oz. When doing basket Stamping and stuff I use a 24oz.
Thank you.
Is this template still available?
Yes it is, you can find it here: makersleathersupply.com/products/belt-slide-pocket-knife-pouch-template?_pos=1&_sid=d4258adf3&_ss=r
