Thanks for posting. A very competitive season. Fun seeing all the underdogs have a few moments. Like Mast leading over 100 laps at rockingham. Great paint schemes too.

I know I state the obvious and a lot of other things obviously happened throughout the season but if Dale hadn’t got spun out at Talladega on the last lap and finished 3rd or whatever instead of 21st he would have had that 8th title

An interesting year for NASCAR in general. One example was Sterling Marlin's team. They created that unique exhaust sound that you would hear later in the mid to late 90s. They used an X pipe with Dr Gas Boom Tubes. Such a great sound it produced.

13:00 I loved Ervin; the guy comes back from a massive crash with one eye injured and sets a new incredible record, In one of the most challenging places. What a fantastic pilot! I've always admired this guy.
The 1995 Kodak Monte Carlo was one of the best ones Morgan McClure ever produced.

The ball got rolling for Jeff Gordon, winning two titles in the following 3 years (the blip being 1996) and one more after that in 2001. He could have won more titles, but with 93 wins in his career, nothing too shabby about those stats, especially his incredible 1998 season, winning 13 races as he and Mark Martin had their best seasons statistically

20 wins between two drivers in a 32 race season is absolutely insane. Mark was seriously unlucky to have a great season right when a rival has his best and subsequently, one of the best or maybe the best in the modern era of NASCAR.

@jackkeithley4934 it could be argued in the case of Mark Martin (even though the man himself doesn't see it that way), 1990 was the biggest missed opportunity. He had a ridiculously consistent season, with an average starting position of 5.4 and an average race finish of 6.6 despite only 3 Poles and 3 wins. But what ultimately cost him the title was a questionable penalty he and his team received at Rockingham (where they were fined $40,000 and docked 46 points for using a taller spacer on the engine air intake, despite the fact that it was welded in place rather than being bolted, so no performance advantage was made, even Benny Parsons was shocked at the severity of the penalty, "they fined him $40,000 and 46 points, that's like hanging a guy for shoplifting,") he lost the title to Dale Earnhardt by just 26 points (incidentally, Dale's average finish for 1990 was 8.0, still more than respectable)

Gordon got screwed by the gimmick chase or he would have 7 titles.

Dale’s double DNF’s at Michigan cost him the title.
