@@KTMLaranjinha Hi, yes you can as you can adjust goggles a lot even make smaller screen by reduce ratio so should be ok as just tested for you to fly with one eye closed on DJI FPV.

Hi, I’m new to all this, I have the DJI FPV with the V2 goggles, not the newest ones with the Avata but the ones that came with the FPV. What’s the “OSD”? On Screen Display? I’m still trying to get through the manual and try and fix issues I might have, is there a way to focus the goggles through the menus? These goggles are blurry.. I’m near sighted as well, I’m new to glasses too, LOL
I have been having this exact same problem and was wondering if its just me. Im near sighted so I didnt think it would have been a problem. But yeah i can focus clearly in the middle but the edges where the menu is, is always a bit blurry. The solution for me is to just have on my contacts if I want clear vision.
Thanks for all the info Billy. As a person not yet into FPV, I would love it if DJI would somehow make the new goggles backward compatible with older camera drones. The only one I own is the Phantom 4 and likely will not be buying another anytime soon. Please keep us updated.
I just got a Avata combo with the Goggles 2. I have been flying with the older style goggles and they are now all up for grabs. All I got from them was lines, snow and loss of signal. I have 5 flights on my Avata now and I can't wait for tomorrow to fly it. I have never seen any distortion, lines or snow. On my first flight I was flying in trees and around obstacals like nothing. I can't say enough good about them. Morning can't come soon enough. Good job DJI.
Do the older bigger dji fpv goggles v2 show the live osd telemetry data from the avata or do those goggles not show that live data or any data at all and only shows with thr newer, smaller dji goggles 2? Thank you
That is truly the lost opportunity from DJI. For people like myself who entered DJI through the FPV product getting used to the goggles means if I buy another DJI drone, that I want to be able to connect it to my existing goggles. If DJI had the foresight of allowing compatibility between all their product lines, I would easily be buying a Mini 3 this Christmas. I can't imagine I am the only customer they have turned away by not adding this functionality. And most of us at this level are willing to pay for it.
I’ll probably sell my FPV for the Avata in a year when its on Sale. I’ll wait to see if they release the FPV Drone 2 with the New Googles and improved camera.
I just got off the phone with DJI, the person told me that the DJI FPV drone was compatible with the goggles 2, it came with the V2 goggles, but I would prefer the new ones, is this compatability correct or was he in error.
Well done friend. You seem to know your stuff as I can not get a straight answer from DJI. Can you tell me what goggles will work with the mavic pro ? Again, thanks for sharing
I’m almost as fascinated by the new Goggles 2 as I am the Avata drone. Nice looks at all the DJI goggles through the years. And I hope right about the Goggles 2 possibly working with some of the camera drones in the future. Great video, and thanks for sharing.
Pacos Pete i am new to fpv and my question is what is the difference of the image of these two goggles . I will not be racing or do doing crazy freestyle , i'm more interested in the immersion of the image i'm seeing around me than an image for accurate flying . i just bought a Skyzone Cobra X goggle and the image is really crisp but for me it's like watching TV across a dark room . I'm going to buy the AVATA Combo but i want to get the right Goggle match for me . Price is not an issue . I've heard several people on RUclips rave about the sharpness of the new Goggles 2 but they prefer the immersion the older V2 googles have .
I remember when I first opened the box to my V1's, my heart just sank. They were ugly, they were big, you couldn't mod them, etc. I was like ok, don't panic, when you get them on your face, the outside "look" doesn't matter, the only thing that matters is the resolution. So I put them on and my heart just sunk further. It was like you were way back in a movie theater sitting in the last row. You saw all the "room" around you and it was hard to read the OSD, and worse, you had some air conditioner blasting right on your eyeballs. I flew them for 5 minutes, and never flew them again. It was like wearing a scuba gear brick on your face or facehugger from Ripley's Alien movie. Sitting in a box collecting dust along with my air units and vistas. What a total waste of money.
It is hi end digital FPV goggle load with features. It is design specifically for fpv avata drone which is cinewhoop. The goggle also can use for any other fast diy fpv drone with the air unit and can be use for any other purpose for immersive display. Did the goggle design just for immersive display? It is build for range, low latency for fast maneuver, great signal penetration, hi quality oled display, which drone really need those features? Obviously it is for FPV drone. As a bonus for being hi end goggle, no doubt it can be use for any other DJI drone. And all commercial DJI video for goggle 2 is about FPV drone experience.
On the comparison part you put both goggles weight as 420g, is that right? Also you said the refresh rate on the old ones is 120hz but it says 144hz on the video XD
I travel and fly alone, and am not willing to shut out the world around me to fly a drone, yet I like the idea of the Avata to fly where I can see it, or indoors. My question is, since DJI said or implied that newer drones would fly with the RC Pro, is it possible, or do you see it becoming possible in the future?
DJI Goggles 2 looking way cooler than the previous one. Form factor and feature wise, it really does seem to give a much more immersive flight experience.
may i ask you question. does new goggles support people that they are wearing glasses on.. Can goggles cover the glasses too. or. they have to take glasses off to wear goggles on? Can you please reply back please. thank you…
@9:00 you mentioned you can reuse other batteries with these googles - are you sure on this as I heard it’s now only 7-9v with a different wire/plug on the googles…
Just a heads up, while you can use the old FPV usb-c batteries with the Avata you cant use any of the wires or plugs from the FPV that have the pin output that connects to goggles; they changed the size just enough that the ones for the FPV V2 wont fit the new goggle version, just a touch smaller on the new ones. Same for the head strap, aftermarket straps with battery holders for the older V2 goggles won't fit the new version; they are too wide.
Hope so, I’m close to buying the FPV, but now I’m hoping they’ll be compatible with the new goggles, more so because they’ve got the diopter adjustment.
Nice review and info. Would love to see some side-by-side, or back to back comparisons of v2/Vista and Goggles2/Avata. The screenshot at 8:11 does look awesome.
Hey Kyle, first of all, thanks for all you do here on your channel. You are definitely appreciated. I was wondering, do you have any thoughts on a combination of the mini 3 pro, the motion controller and the new goggles? I think that would be so cool. Thanks again for all you do.
I really wanted to love the goggles 2. But Optics are too small. It says the ipd is up to 72. I’m a 71 and it’s like there’s a vignette around the screen. Can’t read any of the info on the bottom left and right of the screen. Just ordered a pair of V2’s and hopefully those will work better. Then I’ll sell my goggles 2. I hate they don’t work for me. I love the small form factor.
