Ian, thanks for the review! You go into so many technical details! (battery from inside, FOV overlays, RF spectrum, ...) Pleasure for my technical mind. You're unique source of many important info that the community wants to know.
Thank you for this video, I'm very new to the drone world and already in dire need of some FPV. As someone with a lot of experience wearing NVGs in a military setting, that counterweight from the battery pack sounds like a godsend regarding neck fatigue. I don't know how much the goggles might weigh compared to the NVGs I wore, but any weight in the front of the neck is always putting an additional strain on the neck muscles and I'd rather avoid that as much as possible. I understand I could just attach the battery pack on another model to the back strap, but having it already integrated is a huge plus for me. I think you've sold me on the Integra as well as earned a subscriber. Keep up the good work and thanks again!
DJI finally did _something_ about the comfort and optics issue that so many had with the Goggle2. I can see everything clearly edge to edge in these. The field of view is smaller, yes, but that's not what I'm thinking while flying. Since it's at 100% of the display configuration, it looks natural. With the headstrap, you can angle it upward off your cheekbones and a nose a bit to relieve the bridge pressure if you're someone like me. The face mold needs to be reworked to make the comfort perfect, but it's probably not going to happen -- the head pillow/strap system is an alright compromise. Definitely better than Goggle2 for me in those categories, great overview Ian.
It's interesting one of the reasons Fat Shark gave for their HD3s having a narrower FOV than their HD2s was that it was not possible to engineer blur free edges with ther HD2s wider (50deg or so IIRC) than the narrower HD3s FOFV (45 deg IIRC). I may have the FOVs of the Fat Sharks wrong - it's been years since I've read FatShark spec sheets, but it sounds like DJI might be having the same challenge.
@@1337fliteHD2 FOV was 50 degrees and HD3 dialed that back to 42 degrees but you are correct nonetheless in your assessment that this was an issue that Fatshark also faced and it was a reason for scaling back the FOV. Somehow, even with their multi million dollars of resources ended up making the same mistake Fatshark did many years prior and it’s shockingly stupid and surprising to me tbh. I called it that DJI would NOT do anything to fix the G2 also, because their options for doing so were limited. And that anyone unhappy with them should return them. Then they release the Integra which is what the G2 should have been...

Just to note the flight Audio went though heavy noise removal (resolve voice isolation) as it’s windy as hell. The stock audio is much less nasal. I’m not going to say it’s perfect on the nose however it’s better than my G2. However the overall face shape is the largely the same as it’s still not perfect. It’s better but not perfect.

I'm surprised DJI didn't make the built-in headstrap battery replaceable. Could have been done fairly easily and would have provided another way to bring in sales. Everyone wants multiple batteries "just in case".
A very detailed video, i am about to spring for an Avata and was torn between the goggles, i think you convinced me to save some money and get the goggles integra.
Good explanations but in a few years with stretching and getting wet because of the summer heat. How much for a new battery and head strap ?. I have the Google V2 and Goggle 2 I like them both and both got new face foam. The Goggle V2 are so good and solid. The goggle 2 reminds me of my Fatshark HD O2 as far as fitting for the face. But I needed a new face foam for them as well. Got a big head,,,lol. Thanks for that. Very happy to have paid a bit more for the goggle 2.
I'd love to see a teardown of these. I'm curious to see if we could non-destructively remove the antennas and replace with u.fl to SMA (perhaps with 3D printed adapters).
There is a couple videos of someone crudely modding them with external sma antennas but replacing the u.fl to sma with hole drilled but not a 3d printed adapter or anything to replace the original antennas. Someone should see if replaceable strap and wire for the strap to battery in case it fails in the future out of warranty. Would be nice to see same mods as V2 goggles which I cannot find for cheaper like digital to analog, not likely without AV in.
Glad they gave it a name like the Integra. Goggles 2 goggles v2 like what the hell. been using a battery clip for the back of the gogglesv2 and short cable and they are perfect. It is better to have the batteries interchangeable. Dislike when gear is being reviewed by others and they don't even have the actual product they are reviewing. Great video and information as always.
I sent it back the Integra . I like the optics 44 ( is perfect)... but the image is bent( top and bottom) not so much in goggles 2 . Mach light 220-240g on Integra without battery. The deal break is built in battery. You cannot modify it, the strap cannot be replaced ( the cable and connector are very fragile... I know what I'm talking about). That's the reason I sent it back. I wish to be the same as goggles 2 regards the battery. I'm very sad. 😢
How do you get a video output with these goggles? I use DJI AU or 03 air units. USB c -> smart controller or RC pro? I searched the web but couldn't get a clear answer...
Great content and review. I like what I see but a huge exception. What would have been a bright idea by dji is to utilize new screens to achieve the 120hz refresh rate the v2’s have. It’s a noticeable difference when flying aggressive freestyle and it baffles me.
i think we kinda lack good info on what its like to use the v2's with 03 units, 16-9 cameras versus native 4-3 cameras, i noticed a big difference switching from 16-9 to 4-3, more than i anticipated. so i'm imagining going back with the 03 units as a definite loss of vertical fov, possibly experts can fly fine with it but beginners and non experts would really miss that extra fov.
Thanks for the great comparison! I can see where many will go for the Integra just on price savings alone. Too many things that don’t work, or don’t make sense, for me on the new Integras starting with the battery which is a total deal breaker. How am I supposed to sit back in my car with that thing on the back, or wear a beanie to keep my head warm since I fly in the cold a lot? Then there is the lack of being able to focus the lenses, I suppose if you never let anyone else use them it’s ok but if you want someone else to check them out and their eyes aren’t the same as yours, they aren’t going to be able to see very well. I may be in the minority on this one but I really like the touchpad on the Goggles 2, I fly with a couple others locally and they both prefer the touchpad as well.
You not in the minority I think anyone that use them enough will get use to the touchpad. I thought I would hate it you have to give it a chance. It's not finicky it dji quality and much easier to make in flight adjustments. People that jump back and forth prob not going to like the touchpad.
Doing the math: With my V2 goggles and their 54 degree FOV, it's soooo much FOV that I, and most I've heard, dial back the FOV. In the menu we can adjust the image size by 10 degree increments. I personally use 80% and think that's much better because the 54 degree FOV is too immersive and it looks like you're trying to take in an IMAX like FOV from a goggle...Kinda. lol So, if we do the math and take that 54 degree FOV and multiply it by 80% we get 43.2 FOV. Gee, that's oftly similar to the 44 degree FOV of the Integra goggles. Hmm, sounds like what I'm already used to with my V2 goggles. It would appear to be just perfect for me, and maybe a lot of folks! Now if we could just rid ourselves of the MY PILLOW/BATTERY CLUSTER FUC% ON THE BACK! LOL 🥴 Maybe some really smart, genius type guy, can figure out how to completely remove that My Pillow CF and let us use the lipo in the pocket technique many of us have been used to for several years! Who at DJI thought this pillow deal was a good idea?! More weight on my head....great! 🤷♂🤦♂
OUCH I had it all wrong! I was able to try on both of these at the mall recently when I inquired about ordering the Mini 4 Pro. The salesman flew the Avata around the store while I viewed the flights through each goggles set. I liked the Goggles 2 better specifically because of the individual diopter adjustments, so they were perfectly clear. To a lesser extent I liked them because of the wider field of view. In fact, I thought the Integra was the older model since it lacked diopter adjustment. Also, the Thai salesman didn't mention that Integra includes a set of corrective lenses. In my case Integra wasn't quite clear. Gotta admit it's puzzling that DJI can apparently make Integra, including a box of corrective lenses, cheaper than Goggles 2. Go figure. I'll go with Goggles 2 now that the latest Mini 4 Pro update, thankfully, allows using either set. Merry Christmas & just subscribed!😁
Man i love your review the attention to details specially for people like who love criticism in a productive manner lots of love maaan You are the best i prefer your reviews over any other youtuber ❤ Man keep up the good work i have followed you since the community was bashing you about the honesty ❤
I'm glad there is a more affordable option. Me personally give me the G2s. These are not a upgrade by no means Idk Mad tech selling these as they're better. You flying a Avata and can't head track. The only pro is the price and that's not really a pro these would be much more attractive at 400 or 450. If I couldn't afford the G2s I have I would go with some reverb V2 for $325 and call in a day.
1: Integra can head track 2: I’m not selling these as better, they are just not largely worse. 3: financially they make more sense than the Goggle 2 for 90% of users. 4: V2 are the better option still for most people as these are still premium.
What do you mean by overlap of lenses? Do you have issues with Goggles2 even on custom foams? iFlight one is great and nah we dont need to see corners sharp, just peripheral.
Thank you for the great information. Not liking the battery arrangement. Can't plug in my headtracker unit. Fixed lenses could be troublesome if you share your goggles with someone else. Having the GPS so you do not need to connect to your phone is a big plus. Do you know if the DJI RC Motion 2 controller is compatible with the DJI FPV drone ?
I think some features were missed off your review, a big one is wireless streaming, I say this is big as I can see this being a thing to connect the mini 3 pro RC to the goggles via the wireless function they stripped from integra
The wireless streaming is part of the WiFi that I said was no longer there. As of now DJI has done nothing with it other than being able to receive DLNA video. There is no wireless streaming out from the Goggles 2 and the Goggles 2 are not comparable with the Mini 3 Series anyways.
Man this is frustrating, I need glasses to see, but the 1 diopter interval of the Integra is a bit too coarse, I'd want 0.5 diopter intervals. Maybe DJI will sell more of the lenses individually?
Lookup Honsvr lenses. I ordered custom lenses from them for my exact prescription, including astigmatism, for $50. -Just looked them up and they already offer sets for these goggles
Awesome review! G2 seems have infinite diopter adjustment while this one has in 1 diopter increment. If reviewed by glasses wearer verdict could have been somewhat different. To me it seems integra is G2 SE, a stripped out cheaper version.
If we can get the pilot GPS coords over to Betaflight as telemetry, the RTH rescue mode can return to the pilot, instead of the takeoff point. Also a follow-me mode would be cool when pilot is in the passenger seat tootling down the lane.
That s a shame DJI do not upgrade Google v2 firmware to support last version of caddx or airunit firmware.... Cause I really like immersive fov of v2....
How is the battery cable connected to the goggles? Is it plugged in or permanently connected? Could you replace the whole strap+battery if either fails?
Great review, Ian. Maybe now it’s time for a comparison between the v2s and the Integras. With the new firmware update for the v2 goggles and legit support for canvas mode the only advantage I see with the Integra over v2s is the oled screen. Prove me wrong! Man, I love the way my OSD looks now ❤❤❤
Yeah but the oled screen is supposedly a lot better? I just bought them will post here my experience. Currently using the v2 Goggles. I am just hesitant on the fitment of the nose at this point. I tried the Goggles 2 and did not like them at all. Immediately returned those.
@@publicname515 I tried the goggles 2 on at bestbuy and surprisingly they fit me pretty well. I’ve had my nose flattened unintentionally a few times though so that might have something to do with it lol
Thank you for good job. Could you tell me is there Yagi antennas or something other ways to extend work distance of DJI Integra Googles or it is only for DJI Googles 2 ?
Why couldn’t they have just made the GPS/battery pack as an add-on to the existing goggles? Do you think there’s any chance they will offer this in the future so that existing goggles to owners can have the convenience of not flying with a phone connected?
Great video! I'm having issues binding my mini 4 pro motion control to the drone. Goggles work great with button function but does not bind with drone??? Please help and make a video...
Battery on my head is really something that I will not be comfortable with but price is really a deal breaker for me so I will probably go with Integra. Also as lots of people have problem with face mask especially within nose are, I think Integra wins here. Changeable lenses is something that looks more time consuming on Integra but as I am wearing glasses would rather have this option as I am sure that you can pay to manufacture custom lenses. I will be only one to wear those glasses. As for a battery, as it looks like, modification will not be such a big problem. I have 3d printer so I will come up with something that does not involve making irreversible changes to that part of Integra
Will you try to mod the antennas? And have anyone tried to remove the screws on the front panel of the goggle to see if antenna is locked in with that screw?
great review! Thank you for that! Is it possible to take off the headstrap and exchange it with a 3rd party one somehow? (maybe with custom made parts?) If so, what does the power input connector on the goggles side looks like?
Hey, Thank you for the indepth review. Does Geofencing affect the DJI goggles? I am a school teacher who teaches near a Navy air base in the US. We can call the tower and let them know when we are flying and they are always cool with it but my mavic absolutely will not fly anywhere near the base. I don't want to invest in DJI goggles and an Air unit only to find out that they won't work. Do you have any idea about that?
Thanks Ian for your excellent review. I have eye issues, glare related. I'm interested in the DJI goggles for the reduction in glare and hopefully better sight of where the drone is going. I'm primarily interested in getting excellent video. The video you show is likely from the controller or headset. I have the Mavic 3 Pro. Do you know, will the video record in 4k in the Mavic 3 Pro while using the goggles? Is there an option with the Integra goggles for Cinematic mode? Or is that unnecessary in your view?
Great detail. I had the DJI FPV drone for about a month but the goggles FPV 2 was just so uncomfortable that it all went back. I am keen for the new Avata with the new goggles but a bit worried that the goggles is still shaped like the old one. Do you know if there was a major change in face shaping?
Features + compatibility + quality of battery + built in diopters = me buying the goggles 2. If you replace the seal with a 3rd party thinner foam the picture quality goes WAY up.
Hi Ian, could you please explain the FOV to me? Are the screen sizes of both goggles the same and that you can see is different or you see the same but the sizes of the screens are different? Thank you
thx. for making it easy to head for the integra. In Europe/Germany the difference is 190€, plus the Battery it adds uo to 229€. Definitly ok to save some Money for an O3 Air Unit!
Why is no one using the top strap yet?! It seems like a big deal to alleviate that pressure on the nose, I want to know how much a difference it makes.
Hello Ian and I really enjoyed this full review. I have a question if you can help. I’m blind from the right eye. Can I use any DJI goggles with the avata that I want to buy? I’ve asked DJI regarding the goggles 2 and although they said I can, then they changed their reply to no, because the visual is different on each eye. Can you please tell me if that is correct and if this is the same with the intera? Is there another goggle which has the same visual on each eye so I can use? Thank you in advance!
I don't see anything that makes me want to ditch my V1 goggles that I can run off left over 1300 ma 4s batteries from my 4s days. Also I have the aftermarket antennas that give you lots more range than the stock antennas did. Not being able to change antennas would make me worry I might have lots less range. Is that true?
The batteries not being replaceable is an issue for me, batteries will wear out over time. Also, as you mentioned that strap adjuster looks like an obvious failure point. Thanks for the review 👊
yea i also like to hang against a pole a a wall and sometimes reset my head in flight against the wall by touching the back of my head to the wall that wil be difficult with that thing behind your head. also the dji headstrap that goes over your head make you look like some psycho from a distance
@@erikvf7 Maybe. I have seen DJI batteries, that are ( maybe not easy ) but easy enough. But I have also seen DJI Batteries that the ID chip, or whatever they use, is very fiddly, fragile, and difficult to replace, with the room for error, being very low. One small mistake, and it's done for. With some batteries, by DJI, very difficult to remove from the casing, without destroying things. I would want to confirm before I assumed that it would be easy to mod.
Seems like a great product. I would like to start FPV with a cinewhoop Geprc Cinebot30 with these googles and DJI controller. Do you think its a good idea, or would it be stupid not to get the avata instead? I own no fpv gear at the moment
What is a huge negative for me about the Avata , is finding out that its very loud. I don't want people always knowing there is a drone flying a hundred yards or so away etc. Right now I am really thankful I happened to have run across a you Tube on the Flywoo Flylens 85. It comes in a few versions, but what is awesome is that its super quiet, has the O3 DJI system camera and therefore compatible with both DJI goggles. Its also below 250 grams and therefore does not need registering or remote ID.
Is there a way to shut off the sensor for the screen for goggles 2, would prefer the screen on when I turn the googles on, or should I just put a piece of tap over the sensor.
Is there any work around the fact that you need an armed FC to get the goggles up to full power? I mostly fly fixed wing FPV with conventional RC gear and no FC. >Is there any way to do that with the 03 system?
@@MadRC It definitely doesn't work at full power without an FC, and even if you manually turn off the LP, it still runs at low power. I use O3 on three different planes, one of which had an older version of the Arduplane software (4.2) and it didn't recognize the arm command, and the video feed would cut out at 300-400 meters.
Hi if they are really better and the latest releases it's true, why is DJI currently recommending the pack with the goggles 2, it's not a criticism, just want to know why and above all your opinion? 👍❤❤❤
thank you for another great video- in the absence of a record button does that imply that the original air unit will auto record? On the goggles 2 it has to be done manually (unless I was doing it wrong)
Should have called them the Goggles 2 v2🤣

Man i love your review the attention to details specially for people like who love criticism in a productive manner lots of love maaan
You are the best i prefer your reviews over any other youtuber ❤
Man keep up the good work i have followed you since the community was bashing you about the honesty ❤
Not using bound device! Incompatible...
1: Integra can head track
2: I’m not selling these as better, they are just not largely worse.
I wonder if DJi will make it possible for battery pack for Integras to fit the goggles 2
Will be it work with O4 air unit?
No one knows for sure. Potential is yes.
@@MadRC If they are working with mini pro 4 and air 3 which have a O4 air unit, should be good to go. What do you think?
The Oculus quest 2 has a really similar strap tightening wheel and the plastic teeth did strip after 2 months of frequent use.
Every hardhat I've worn in the past 20yrs has this mechanism. Have not seen a single failure.
@@dr0n3droid i feel like they use better plastics on hardhats. More like the tool plastic than the consumer electronics plastic
Thanks for such a detailed review so quickly.
Man this is frustrating, I need glasses to see, but the 1 diopter interval of the Integra is a bit too coarse, I'd want 0.5 diopter intervals. Maybe DJI will sell more of the lenses individually?
Get prescription ones done? That way any astigmatism can also be dealt with
Lookup Honsvr lenses. I ordered custom lenses from them for my exact prescription, including astigmatism, for $50. -Just looked them up and they already offer sets for these goggles
"Well, I use the word sunshining loosely here in Wales" 😆
Awesome review! G2 seems have infinite diopter adjustment while this one has in 1 diopter increment. If reviewed by glasses wearer verdict could have been somewhat different. To me it seems integra is G2 SE, a stripped out cheaper version.
If we can get the pilot GPS coords over to Betaflight as telemetry, the RTH rescue mode can return to the pilot, instead of the takeoff point.
Also a follow-me mode would be cool when pilot is in the passenger seat tootling down the lane.
This would be cool, I don’t think so but it would be cool
Ahem... Ardupilot
That s a shame DJI do not upgrade Google v2 firmware to support last version of caddx or airunit firmware.... Cause I really like immersive fov of v2....
Is the FCC hack still possible? .............................gps unit
Absolutely.
How is the battery cable connected to the goggles? Is it plugged in or permanently connected? Could you replace the whole strap+battery if either fails?
Honestly, DJI didn't make it an easy choice between the Integra and the G2. But I went for the Integra yesterday. Hope I made the right choice.
@@SkeezyFPV 🤣
I would have bought it if it had hdmi input to it, it would have resolved almost all my needs, thanks for the awesome review Ian
great review! Thank you for that! Is it possible to take off the headstrap and exchange it with a 3rd party one somehow? (maybe with custom made parts?) If so, what does the power input connector on the goggles side looks like?
At the moment it looks fixed but we will need to see
Thank you for the review. How many other dji drones will these work with?
Yes, the ratcheting mechanism is the weak point. It is made in PRC after all. Bicycle helmets have similar mechanism which is prone to failures.
great review with qualitative details as usual and expected in your channel. thanks for my future saving 👍
I have the same goggles, but I can barely go behind a building. Do you know any way to make these goggles have farther range?
I noticed Integra has no lens protector. Are they still sensitive to exposure? Or should I not worry about it?
Great review Ian
great review,subscribed!
Can you remove that back battery and have a barrel jack cable for pocket battery? Want to put an ethix strap on the integra goggles.
Would love a comparison of the V2 vs the Integra! :-)
Thank you
First of all, once again great video.
If they removed WI-FI for Integra is there any way to transmit vision to the phone like for example via usb-c?
Yea you can still use the fly app to view via usb.
@@MadRC do you know if there is a way to use the fly app while the ham file is active or only without it?
thx. for making it easy to head for the integra.
Just one question...
Do you have to plug the Goggles 2 into your smart phone before taking off.. If your flying only in the UK.
Thank you.
Can you remove the Incompatible googles / Nor using bound device?
This seems like the answer to flying without a bunch of cords dangling from your head
The batteries not being replaceable is an issue for me, batteries will wear out over time. Also, as you mentioned that strap adjuster looks like an obvious failure point. Thanks for the review 👊
I think it will be easy and cheap to replace those internal 18650's
yea i also like to hang against a pole a a wall and sometimes reset my head in flight against the wall by touching the back of my head to the wall
that wil be difficult with that thing behind your head.
also the dji headstrap that goes over your head make you look like some psycho from a distance
Ive been using the same battery for the goggles v2 for over 3 years now with no problems
Just install a new headstrap and battery...
Got a bit confused after the first 55 secs until I realised that you had swapped the two sets over after naming them at the beginning.
Are these new headsets better then the old white ones 5 years a go? I am looking to get back into fpv with the avatar
So you can still adjust the focus for each eye with the integras ?but can it adjust as much ?
Why does goggles 2 not broadcast Remote id from Wi-Fi? It could simply push it as a cast device or Bluetooth device 🤔
cant seem to find a carry case for these goggles, also face foam is hard to find
So these will work with the Vistas and old dji air units
Thank you for your informative review. Best one I've seen. Is there a way to set up the Integra to record automatically when bound to a caddx unit?
Hi
which one would you recommend more for future proofing and compatibility with future systems?
Today the integers is the best value for sure and has the potential to have the widest compatibility
Do you still have the same fogging problem as the goggles 2?
Do they have built in patch antennas?
Great review! Would the g2 battery work with usb to usb cable? seems like a nice backup plan...
Seems like a great product. I would like to start FPV with a cinewhoop Geprc Cinebot30 with these googles and DJI controller. Do you think its a good idea, or would it be stupid not to get the avata instead?
I own no fpv gear at the moment
avata all day.
What is a huge negative for me about the Avata , is finding out that its very loud.
I don't want people always knowing there is a drone flying
a hundred yards or so away etc.
Right now I am really thankful I happened to have run across a you Tube on the Flywoo
Flylens 85. It comes in a few versions, but what is awesome is that its super quiet, has the O3 DJI system camera and therefore compatible with both
DJI goggles.
Its also below 250 grams and therefore does not need registering or remote ID.
Wait, do these lenses come with every goggles in the package or is it a separate purchase?
Is there a way to shut off the sensor for the screen for goggles 2, would prefer the screen on when I turn the googles on, or should I just put a piece of tap over the sensor.
Got to use my integra goggles About 5 times before the fan stopped working and I had to send them back.
Is there any work around the fact that you need an armed FC to get the goggles up to full power? I mostly fly fixed wing FPV with conventional RC gear and no FC. >Is there any way to do that with the 03 system?
Sadly no, I have spoke with DJI and they don’t believe their is a difference between LP off and Armed but I’m clearly seeing it.
Nice video! Question:
How did you record this OSD information ?
The Goggles 2 and Integra can record OSD onto the sdcard.
How do I can share the video from the goggles ? Does it has an video out ? Can the usb port do it ?
Thanks to share your knowlage.
Hi. I'm curious if you can use other power suply to power up Goggles 2, like power bank with 9v output? Or you need to use DJI battery.
You can use any psu as long as it’s in the voltage range.
Great review Ian! Cheers 🍻
What's up with the motion 2 controller looking forward to that is it going to be able to work with the original DJI FPV drone. ?
I’m assuming these will not support the new occusync 4
But can I connect integra to o3 air unit without any avatas and mothion stick or whatever
Hi if they are really better and the latest releases it's true, why is DJI currently recommending the pack with the goggles 2, it's not a criticism, just want to know why and above all your opinion? 👍❤❤❤
So can the V2 or the Integra be used with the Mavic 3?
thank you for another great video- in the absence of a record button does that imply that the original air unit will auto record? On the goggles 2 it has to be done manually (unless I was doing it wrong)
