Youre the best vintage mens channel out there. This is a good way to draw us vintage guys together. There really isnt a presence on youtube yet for men. Vintage women dominate the genre. So, thanks for giving us a place to congregate. You did a good job at critiquing everyone. It was kind and very helpful to us all.

This really shows the difference between classical menswear and women's vintage. Because even if you can't find the exact piece you want, there will be a historic pattern available (often online for free), and for the 1920's there are many day outfits that can be made in an afternoon - like Morgan Donner's "one hour dress".

I don't like clichés, but "I am 17 and I love this". I really like the way you make your videos. You are doing a great job. As you know, there are some other men who do this kind of videos, but from my point of view some of them don't have this kind of "friendly" approach (towards the viewer), I feel they consider themselves a bit superior. Now of course that's just how I see it, I really resonate with how you do the things. Big like, thank you. Greetings from Romania!

Well, I’m a woman who love 50s and 60s vintage, and have been wearing vintage for years. I always love classic man wear. I recently just shave my head because I got board during quarantine and wanted to know what my head looks like.... Then I decided to introduce myself to men’s fashion. I been watching your videos for hours today, and really enjoy it. I thought men’s fashion doesn’t change much as the time goes by, but now I know it has so many details to take care of. The worst thing is I am having a hard time finding a vintage pattern that I like. I heard you have a sewing book and are working on the English version, definitely will buy it when it’s finished

So nice to see men who are into classic style.
I spotted that in the vintage mafia look the pocket watch chain hasn't been secured correctly. The large hook should be hooked to the edge of the waistcoat where buttons have been sown onto. That way when the wearer closes those buttons the hook is in no danger of dropping and it will be hidden underneath the layer where buttonholes are the same time.
Sorry if this explanation is a bit unintelligible. I have more practice in hooking those watch chains than telling others how it is done.

Love it! As a vintage wearing ‘lock and co’ hat model , your videos affirm my fashion choices - it is a tough journey in the current atmosphere in the UK, where a forced casual is the norm and the wearing of anything ‘formal’ is greeted with hostility and scorn and even missiles! The necktie that I put on is really thick and doesn't move at all inside the collar. I had to tie the necktie prior to putting on the collar. I am wondering, what ties can you recommend? Are old/classic ties thinner?

    • @Vintagebursche

The thickness is independent from the ties age, but older ones are usually thinner. If you dare, you can also remove thr interlining from an existing tie that is to thick for your taste.

    • @Vintagebursche

I don't think that 1 or 2 sizes offer that more rise. I'd rather suggest going secondhand, because older trousers most of the time have a higher rise. And on top of that a lot of brands now have high waisted pants like SJC. Even SuitSupply now offers fishtail trousers!
