    Hi! Thank you for the video.
    Just to add on this, for calculating p-value use the abs function for t-statistic value in case you got a negative t-statistic (min:2:20)
    Example:
    =TDIST(ABS(F9),F11,2)

    I wanted to say a huge thank you for this video, and explaining this calculation so efficiently without extra confusion. I've watched at least 10 videos and none have explained it so well.

    Good illustration
    But why you take degree of freedom as (n - 2), instead of (n-1)?

      it is because there are two variables or two parameters instead of one

    it is not complete. how can you make decision in the P value without any level of significance, alpha?

    Sir,I want to ask a think that, when I used more than 3 parameters for all subcategories in my study, and subjects are more than 100, with five subcategories, like; 20,20,20,20,20........,then which type of test or statistics I should have to apply?,,,,,

    when u calculate p value, why u taking tails=2

    • @somashekharic
      @somashekharic 3 года назад +2

      While evaluating null and alternate hypothesis, the direction of hypothesis is also important. Based on this we decide whether one tail or two tail should be applied. For example, if we are framing hypothesis like there is no relationship or both variable are same and althernate hypothesis also representing same type of equality checking, then we apply two tail testing. Suppose in alternate hypothesis, we are checking the greater than or lesser than relationship then we can apply one tail test.
