This is too funny! Thank you for playing it so well!
Lovely video. I've long been a fan of the archaic Webster's New World Dictionary of the American Language and its companion pieces, the French/ English Dictionary, and the German/English Dictionary. Roget's Thesaurus has also provided hours of truly gripping adventure. 😊
This is the best!!
I can't believe you made it through that with a completely straight face. Maybe YOU could be the one to write the sequel! Thanks for the mornings entertainment.
Absolutely inspired. Have added it to my TBR.
Happy April fools!!
I'm glad my joke comment on instagram actualized with this video lol
Oh my god 😭😭 this is top tier, thank you so much for this
Brilliant. You've made my morning.
What a great one day read 😂
🤣got skills keeping a straight face. You haven't inspired this fellow Aussie to read the dictionary. I didn't know there was an Aussie one and I'd shake my head at that some of our slang that's probably in there.
Wow great on you for reading the whole dictionary! That's awesome.
I'm not sure if you've ever read Simon Winchester's "History of the Oxford English Dictionary", but if you haven't, you definitely should. The story behind its creation it's quite interesting.
I have Samuel Johnson's Dictionary on my shelf and hope to tackle it one day.
I don't read Australian, so I bought the American translation. Badum-dum... It, too, is concise and encyclopedic. Chapters B and S were especially moving. I've heard that chapter R is phonetically very different in the American. I still come back to it as a reference, but doubt I'll be rereading it straight through cover to cover. Tedius in places. No pictures.
It's Nikolai Gogol's birthday. I recommend reading one of his short stories today. The Carriage is only about 12 pages.
Took me about 4 mins to realise this was a joke - well done, sir 😅
very good. the Johnson stuff was hilarious
"even on God's 'The Bible'" 🤣🤣🤣
