@@wilton how long can you get buttercream icing in the freezer?
I just use the flower tip for pipping out the whole rose. To pipe out the cone, hold the bag so the tip is straight up and down while spinning the flower nail ending with a tail going towards the bottom of the cone. I also follow the 1 to 3, 2 to 5 and 3 to 7. First row, I pipe out 3 peddels, second row, 5 and 3rd row 7 peddels. When pipping out flowers, leaves and twegs, make sure to do odd numbers and NOT even, because odd numbers make it more naturial looking
thx for the tip! if i tried to switch tips there would be frosting all over the floor...
Please do lilies. I have the mold but don't know how to make it in buttercream
Amazing video!!!
Thank you! -Stephanie
Wilton, I would like to see if you can do a video about placing flowers or piping flowers on the side of a cake. Mine keep falling off. I use water, frosting, even royal icing. My Buttercream ones almost always fall off after awhile. I wind up having to do all royal icing flowers on the sides.
i would just put the flowers at the top or bottom edge, but if you have your heart set on putting them on the side then maybe use a dowel to hold them up? (like you pipe the rose around the dowel or stab with dowel through only the bottom and then stick it through the cake, maybe. add some leaves with a leaf tip to hide the seam) idk i’ve never tried it but it might work..?
Thanks a lot,very helpful👍
I just 😍 it. Thanks.
Yay! Thanks for watching! -Stephanie
I think you should make a video recipes on a perfect stiff buttercream for Rose's., and make another video with a consistency buttercream recipe.
But...it's Wilton, and they want you to buy their product. :)
Beautiful!! Can you make a bluebonnet tutorial? Thanks!
Thank you! And thanks for the suggestion! -Stephanie
I just use the flower tip for pipping out a whole rose. It is faster and easier (for me) to use just one tip than to use two different tips.
That's great! You can definitely use the petal tip to make a base and if that's what works best for you- I say go for it! Cake decorating is all about trying different things and finding what does work best for you. Happy baking! -Stephanie
Great tutorial! What size of coupler for tip 104 please?
thanks amazing
Thank you! -Stephanie
roses look nice on cupcakes.
Thank you! -Stephanie
I can't get this rose down. I have thick icing but can't get it from sliding around and falling over. I did the spatula test to make sure it was stiff enough and according to my teacher its good. How can I get the results you all are getting?
I would love to see a magnolia tutorial!
Thanks for the suggestion! -Stephanie
my left ear enjoyed this video
Nice
Thanks for watching! -Stephanie
you should try a gardenia
Thank you for this video! Can you please tell me how long these flowers store for and do you store them in the fridge or at room temperature?
Hi, We recommend that you put them in the freezer for 20-30 minutes until you're ready to use them. Here's a link to our video on how to store icing flowers: bit.ly/2EoS2ef
Can I make the flowers ahead of time and leave them in the freezer for a day or so?
U use decorator icing to pipe the rose?? How Long can it stay in the room temperature? Do u mix with other thing or just the icing from the tub and can use right away already
I wish i could do something like that u make it look so easy
Maryam Gangat You can do it, it just takes a bit of practice getting the hand movements down so it feels more natural! 👸🌷You can do it!!!
Maryam Gangat It actually is VERY easy to pipe out roses. It takes me about 10 seconds to pipe out a full rose that has 3 rows, first row I pipe out 3 peddels, 2nd row I pipe out 5 peddels and 3rd row I pipe out 7 peddels. Each of my rows I just add 2 peddels. You want to always have odd numbers of both rows and peddles, it makes for a more natural looking flower, same goes when pipping out twigs and leaves.

~ Yes, I would love to see a tutorial for magnolia and peony :) please, "Pretty Please" ;) ~
Thank you for the suggestions! -Stephanie
How do you stop fraying on edge of petals . Thanks
Practice is the biggest thing to avoid that, but also be sure that you are using a stiff consistency buttercream!
i make roses right on a cupcake instead of on a flower nail.Since i dont have one. I got roses the first time
Great idea! -Stephanie
yay u replied :) alot of my baking i learned from wilton. I also have alot of your supplies
would this work with whipped cream?
Roses can be made with whipped cream, but they hold up better with buttercream. -Stephanie
Could you please tell what tip is used to make rosettes on a cupcake. Thanks
The center of the rose is made with tip 12 and the petals are made with tip 104.
Can I use nozzle no. 150 to make these roses?
Where can you buy the Wilton Butter Cream icing if you Don't want to make it. Thank you, Brenda Busshart
Would you show a tutorial on making buttercream carnations?
Hi Gloria, Here's a link to our video on how to pipe buttercream carnations: bit.ly/2B7nz6D Thanks!
Dear teacher, could mind to guide me about how to make butter cream resepi here . Appreciate your big help. Please help .
Hi Stephanie . Just love your videos. But I'm so frustrated!!!. I still can't pipe a rose that looks like yours. Is it possible to show the position of your right hand as well as you are piping . TIA from Australia.
Hi, we're sorry you're havingt trouble with your roses. This blog might be helpful as it details the position and angle you should hold the bag for each step: blog.wilton.com/buttercream-roses/ Hope that helps. Keep practicing, we know you can do it!
@@wilton thankyou very much😊
Just do everything with the petal tip. saves you from switching tips every time you make a rose.
Hi! You can definitely use the petal tip to make the base if that's works best for you! I find that my roses are more stable if I make the base with a tip 12 so that's what I use. Happy baking! -Stephanie
Can you make a daisy?
can these beautiful roses can they be made with italian merigue buttercream frosting would this frosting work with this kind of frosting?
ummmmm... i don’t know. i’ve made it before and it can get a little thin. i think it would be best with an american buttercream bc in order to get it thiq enough it would be cold and break. so i’d suggest american, it’s easier anyways. beat some bitter, add sugar until it’s right taste/ consistency, salt + vanilla to taste, milk/ cream to texture. (i never use a recipe)
My buttercream is coming out jagged on the small end of the 104 tip. So I don't have a smooth looking rose. It's almost weathered looking haha. I thought I mixed my frosting ok. Is it maybe too stiff? What could be wrong. Thanks.
Hi Janice! It may be too stiff. Try adding some corn syrup :-) This will thin out the icing and add some elasticity. -Stephanie
i want to buy them .from morocco
I would like to learn how to make dahlias and hydrangeas
Hi Hilda! We have a video on how to make buttercream hydrangeas. Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/lIxr9ltAyjw/видео.html
😍
Yo yo yo~
Hi! -Stephanie
Can we do this without the special tip?
To pipe a flower like this, it would be very difficult without a petal tip.
But buttercream starts sweating when popped out of the freezer?? What to do?
Peony flower :)
Thank you for the suggestion! -Stephanie
can you do a Bluebonnet and Indian paintbrush?
Thank you for the suggestions! -Stephanie
Hi, my name is Wendy. I'm a home baker. I just started doing pipping. Could u show the position of ur hand as ur making the roses? So, I can understand alil better how to hold my pipping bag
Hi Wendy! Hold your piping bag at a 45 degree angle. The top of your bag should be pointed at your right shoulder if you are right handed (left shoulder if you are left handed). Happy piping! -Stephanie
I always get jagged edges on the petals of my flowers and I dont know why :( . I have tried several 104 tips to see if its because of the tips, but its not. Even the instructor in my wilton class's roses gets the jagged edges too.. we use the class icing recipe from the book. Id love to get smooth petals
Hello! The icing may be too stiff. Try adding just a little bit of water or corn syrup. -Stephanie
can u please share the buttercream recipe you used to make the rose..
Hi! Here's a link to our buttercream recipe: ruclips.net/video/NMMZMbziaTw/видео.html
👍
Please help! can I do this with Swiss merengue buttercream?
Hi Erica! You may be able to pipe some roses with Swiss Meringue Buttercream, but stiff buttercream icing really does work best. -Stephanie
😍😍😍
Hello, can you please be more clear what kind of material (butter cream) to use in order that the flowers I'm piping will be stable in higher temperatures than 25 degrees?
Hello! For this rose, we used buttercream icing. Unfortunately, buttercream will not hold up in higher heat. If the location is hot, I recommend not displaying the cake until it is ready to be served. -Stephanie
a Christmas poinsettia, calla lily and a hydrangea. Thank you.

Which number nozzal use for the flower?
Tip 104 :-) -Stephanie
Could you make this with royal icing instead of buttercream?
Hi! Yes, you can use royal icing to pipe this rose.
Thanks Wilton
hello what color do you use for the rose?
any u like! typically pink, red (although that takes a lot of coloring and may make it runny), yellow, or white but go ahead and make blue and purple or rainbow roses. sky’s the limit!
Why don't you just use the flower tip to make both the cone and rose? That is the way I pipe out roses, it's much easier and faster, because that less dirty tools to wash and you can just pipe out the cone end it with a tail and go right into piping the rose.
Can you use a 103 tip instead of a 104 tip???????
Yes!
What name little paper? Is it butter paper?
It's parchment paper :-) -Stephanie
Wilton oh I don't have one
What can I do if buttercream melting in the piping bag when I piping ?
Hi! You sometimes the heat from our hands can make the buttercream softer, try putting it in the refrigerator for a little bit for it to stiffen up while you're working with it.
Thank you very much 😉
ugh if only i had a number 104 tip...

Wow uh great vid! I learned the same technique when I was about eight. Now I decorate cakes professionally and my roses look less messy than that... you should try wiping your tip off as you go if you want a clean flower. 🍰🎂🍭🍬🍧🍨🍦🍫

...that was a sortof lengthy way of explaining a wave formation...but I got it . w.
I liked this explanation because it was completely unambiguous--a wave can start from anywhere, have multiple crests, etc.
