I always struggle with "Domainant 7 - Circle of 5ths" improvising. I always default to just outlining the chords cause melodic stuff is hard to achieve through such fast changes.

I also struggle with it because I find them so uninspiring. I find subbing in tritones and ii-7s to the Vs helps but only a bit.

Try Barry Harris theory. Play unaltered dominants by playing the melodic minor scale (or minor 6 dim) of the 5 of the chord. Ex C7 (play G melodic minor)

Hello from Japan, Mrs. Jimin.
I am studying jazz.
I would also like to deepen my understanding of music through jazz.
First, I practiced "ジャズボイシングの7つのレベル". I have now attempted up to "Tensions" in 12 keys. The notation and hands are easy to see, and above all, the sound is wonderful!
So, what happens if you play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in a minor key? I would like to try practicing that arrangement myself.

with BeBop sight reading, it seems like you'd end up with fingering problems. Do you figure out the fingering ahead of time, or is there a technique to always make sure you've still got fingers to go up or down the run?

Sight reading is about always being 1 step ahead in regards to where you are and where you need to go. Good sight readers are always reading ahead from where they are playing so that way they "know" how to position their hands. Before starting to play they also quickly glance through the score, which would solve some fingerings intuitively.
