I'm the same but in reverse, avid WoW player, zero OSRS experience, and yet I still watch Framed, SirPugger, Link and Rargh, and tons of other OSRS creators. 😅 Edit: Oh yeah, and as people have said above, the TBC pre patch would be a great time to start. Slightly faster leveling, massive number of players leveling in the world, and just an overall vibrant leveling Community that aren't all sitting on their Tier3 mains in SW/Org, because they're all leveling their TBC alts.

I still say Lich King Naxx is my favorite raid. I didn't get to hit it in vanilla, bc came out too soon after I joined the game: so I only hit naxx during lich king - and I loved it. Each fight had it's own mechanics and even trash would wipe the raid if people got stupid. I really really enjoyed it.
Honestly I was surprised at the smooth GDKP until: A: Asmon not allowing someone to bid for transmog reasons when he literally was thinking about it a moment ago + the whole point of a GDKP is you're bidding gold to buy whatever you want, not you're bidding gold to beat the other main specs. B: I was pretty happy with how it was going, then Asmon legitimately considers ninja looting, he doesn't which is great but the fact that he was actually considering it and not like "Eyyy, should I ninja loot this bois?" is just sad to me.

On previous expansion like cataclysm, without personal loot, it used to be like 5items on 25man raids and 2items on 10man. On heroic, some bosses additionally dropped tokens. So if you see now 2 items on 40man naxx raid, its pretty joke.

As an old gamer who played everquest back in 1999 with a dkp guild, i'm somewhat confused with this new "gdkp" thing... I mean, Gold Dragon Kill Points ? How does that work ? You get to pay with both Gold and Points ?
No so u basically place your gold on items that dropped in the raid. The one who pays the most for an item gets it. The money then comes into the pot which is split times 40 for every raidmember

In practice, gold buying is funding the whole thing. So if you don't want to buy gold, go to a few gdkp naxx runs and don't buy anything and you will have a lot more (dirty) gold than you can farm by yourself.

It is worth it, but it is a ridiculously long grind not gonna lie. Also servers will not be as active as they were up till now, but im sure if you stick to the high population ones you won't notice a difference. Just see wow classic as a very long game that you can actually "Complete" unlike retail, and it has an enormous amount of content to offer you. Knock yourself out and enjoy the experience thats my advice :)

Its normally not paid, you just say what you want to get if it drops and then most likely get it or roll against another who wants it and ones no one has reserved are rolled for too

I don’t play classic but was thinking about starting. Does every raid have this organised system were people bid for gear drops? Seems kinda annoying. So you don’t get a chance to actually loot any gear for yourself? It’s just all lootmaster and have to bid?
Its normally not paid, you just say what you want to get if it drops and then most likely get it or roll against another who wants it and ones no one has reserved are rolled for too

@@hellothere8812 ofc some guilds got different ways to do it and priority order for raiders etc but most likely you get good gear from raids on classic, atleast the older raids
