Maybe it's just me but I never had that problem. I clearly recall running dungeons and having conversations beforehand or quick exchanges after we killed the bosses. I held back from rolling and other people held back in my favour. There are dishonest people in Wow and there are great people.

Funny thing is I once got about 1/3 the price of the mount for doing a crafting service. Someone asked if anyone could make X and I PM ed them. They gave me the ingredients, I crafted the item, they laid me. Fair trade. Got the rest of the money selling processed ore aka ingots.
I actually loved this for some reason. especially the trial by combat.

Then you get posted onto reddit and the same thing happens to you as what happened to Royson. You lose either way if you suspect someone's gonna ninja loot.
I had this happen on an epic (world) drop while instancing. One guy instantly spammed "All green" but didnt rolled. So neither did I. When he asked me why I didnt rolled, I said that it's because he didnt as well, and that was a solid minute after the drop. It was obvious what his angle was. Then he said "oh this is an upgrade for me, so I want to need it". Still, bullshit, because it was also an upgrade for others in the group, and BoE rules still apply. I hit need and so did he. He lost the roll, and I told everyone else to roll, for a chance of the item (aka, making it fair). He rage quite and the group quickly dissolved after that. Still, he didnt got the item, so I count that as a win.
Bottom line. The dude said roll greed. Then did a need roll.
And didnt even need to use them. Sells on ah. And then says. . I was ganna split it.
No. Idiot. U should have asked. And if they said nah man just roll greed. U could have got a chance at them.

Yeahhhh... Here's the thing, in my interpretation. Blizz are taking a hands-off approach to ninja looting. You hit need when you don't need it, you win it, sorry everybody else. That's life. But this is a different case. He told everyone to greed when he was in a position of trust with his guildmates, THEN he ninja'd it. Based on the context of the situation, it easily falls under scamming. And Blizz takes action against scamming. Here's hoping they strip him of the gold and give a ban for however long they think is ok

I don't play the game, I never have...I don't really know why RUclips autoplayed this. When this kind of thing happens in any part of life, I see it as a betrayal of trust and not the loss of an item. I'd say keep the item and let it be a reminder that you chose that small thing over my trust. I'd never trust that person again, that way you can surround yourself with people who you can actually count on and you can be a person that other people count on...knowing you have the kind of support that'll drop everything to back you up is worth more than anything and it's very hard to get to that point

If someone other than Roy did this then there wouldn't have even been a second thought to boot him from the guild. Even if Roy didn't know one of the other players was from Quinn's guild he was still deceptive towards his own guild members which is a double whammy of no ninja looting and the previous no ninja looting from guildies or friendly guilds. Furthermore, when his counter argument towards one of the players who brought a legitimate issue in regards to inconsistent loot rules is that the guy wiped them on Garr then you know he's not willing to discuss these issues in good faith.
Instead he gets invited to join Asmongold in discord while calling Reddit retarded as they jerk each other off in between trying to put out all these dumpster fires Roy seems to attract and yet nothing happens as if the ends justify the means rather than realizing the underlying issue that he had no issue screwing over his own guildies when the opportunity presented itself.

ahahahahahahaha the TRUE classic experience has finally reared its ugly head. I was wondering when I was going to start seeing this. The pinnacle of any wow player, especially one that is about to quit is to ninja loot a rare item and get a huge reaction before gquitting or getting gkicked. Massive props to blizzard for keeping this in the game. The best part is that more of this content from other guilds is sure to be on the way and twitch vods and youtube vids on demand to showcase it all.
*edit* Just FYI, if you are in a random PUG and they set it to lootmaster. Get out because they are going to give the gear to their friends. Anything good that drops that you might need is going to their friends. I highly recommend if you don't have a raid guild to start putting in some effort and make your own. I can't stress this enough. Yeah it sucks, and its hard to manage with IRL stuff but if you want to raid and you don't have a group of friends, I highly recommend not to PUG in classic wow if you can help it. Just find people on your server, test them out in groups and get your people going on a regular basis and you will have your main raid in no time. Also stay the fuck away from servers like Faerlina.
