Evangelical pastor and radio host Tony Evans cited an unnamed "sin" as he stepped down as senior pastor at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, the latest controversy for high-profile pastors in America.
Evans will be "temporarily stepping away from his senior pastor’s duties," Shari L. Carroll, a spokesperson for the church, said in a Friday email to USA TODAY. On Sunday, the pastor said in a statement on the church's website that he has "committed no crime," but "did not use righteous judgment in actions."
It's a familiar pattern in American Christianity - popular pastors spread their faith, invite scrutiny and often face fallout for their indiscretions, according to Deborah Whitehead, a religious studies professor at the University of Colorado Boulder.

I respect and admire Dr. Tony Evans for coming forward and communicating that he will be stepping down as Pastor due to an indiscretion. To me this shows a lot of integrity, humility, and a contrite spirit. What we fail to realize is that Pastors are human, and are not Jesus Christ. They have a tremendous responsibility of leading God’s people, but they have the same emotions that we all have, and not exempt from temptation. I, like millions of others, have been blessed by Dr. Evans preaching, teaching, books, and Bible. Instead of spreading malicious misinformation we should be praying for him and all spiritual leaders. We serve a God that forgives us when we sin, and for that I am externally thankful. I will be praying for Dr. Evans restoration and healing, and look forward to him coming back stronger and wiser.

Why are you showing Dr. Evans picture and talking about other pastors??? You are being deceitful. You have not informed anybody.
Pastors and top church leaders, especially of "independent churches, tend to believe that they are a law unto themselves.
They are virtually worshipped by their followers like gods.
They commit all kinds of sins, and when they are found out they "repent", go into periods of "spiritual refreshment and prayer" and all sorts of things.
Then the return to "ministry" to the jubilation of their congregation.
This sick behaviour has to stop.
What happened to the video audio towards the end? The video is talking about many pastors other than Evans..Until now Evan's "hidden" sin keeps us puzzled. That sin should be exposed esp. that he was a pastor during the time he committed the sin. It will bring closure and healing to many & will teach others not to go down that path..🙏🙏🙏
