    Do you have any tips for using tension and relief points when it comes to using fountain pens for traditional art ?

    • @ArseniKatsela
      @ArseniKatsela  9 месяцев назад

      I'm not drawing much with fountain pens, but! On the tension points you can draw a bit slower to make the ink spread more (or you can draw a line few times to make this spot thicker). And with relief points I'd suggest to just make a fast and very light strokes and you'll have a thin and light weighted line!

    • @ArseniKatsela
      @ArseniKatsela  10 месяцев назад

      We were taught how to write at school. And most of the time we start to apply it to drawing. Then we got wrist pains, short, wobbly and inaccurate lines. Thats because we are drawing from the wrist (by only moving our hand and resting wrist on the surface). I'd suggest to try to draw from the shoulder (when your full arm is engaged). In that way you can do free movements easily and your lines are becoming better. Also make sure not to make those movements slow, because if you try to do any line slow it's much harder to make it not wobble. It can be hard at the first time, but when you'll used to it - your lines will become much better!
      Hope it helps :)

    I'm *thisss* close to giving a downvote, but you managed to skirt by whatever mental threshold I judge by. And whenever I give a downvote (or come close), I feel like you should know why, and maybe be able to improve.
    There's nearly a full *minute* of absolute fluff at the start -- you talking and even repeating info *about* the trick instead of actually *presenting* the trick. That's a third of the video, and even at 1.5 speed it felt boring, plodding (which is funny, given the principle presented in the video itself). This entire presentation could've been one, maybe one and a half minutes long with no loss of information or quality.
    So there's two ways to improve here. One is to make the shorter version: go straight into the topic, no excess fluff (maybe 5-15 seconds of intro, not most of a minute), get the message out the door, get it done. That could work.
    Or, conversely, provide a more rounded view of the topic. Still keep the opening very short -- especially on a short video, you don't want to waste the viewer's time -- but I would've appreciated some compare-and-contrast in the visuals as well as the spoken principle. Show a hand drawn without the principle *next to* a hand drawn *with* it. Show multiple types of drawing (perhaps a hand, a leg, a face, and a body) and how the principle works with each one. Stop the motion to point out the details and let the viewer actually appreciate them for a moment before the action starts up again.
    Being able to compare pictures side by side can make a huge difference in grasping the point being made.
    Good luck with your channel!

    • @ArseniKatsela
      @ArseniKatsela  8 месяцев назад

      Yes, I’m thinking right now how I can improve my videos, to make them not that boring! And I wanted to start making exactly what you’ve mentioned - two types of videos (short and straight to the point + longer videos with more deep approach). You confirmed my thoughts!
      Thank you so much for your feedback, it means a lot to me! And I’m glad to see you here!
