Hi Bruno !! Another great vidéo !! But I never see the part numbers in the description!! although for my part I don't have a 156 but 159 and Brera, it is always good to have links to find parts for these vehicles knowing that I intend to keep them and repair them for many years to come !!
Hello, thanks for watching! Now I know only one in them thousand people check in fact the description! Yes, I did forgot to put the part numbers in, but no one until you asked me for them. I'll try to find them. Thanks for watching
Hallo :))) As a first your videos and the way you share your knowlage is amazing! I will be selfish and i wish that you live and work near to me closer as it is possible! I own 159 2.4 qtronic and i fall in love with everything about that car 😊 I have some issues with my SW and i really pay a massive money to mechanic who destroy my car! As i give it to private garage there i stay without guaranty and with problems in my hands, as they say "its alfa romeo, those cars are junk get rid of them" So i decide to get rid of mechanic:) and start to learn with 35 years in my as$, bit wird but i don't have much options. I already have learn a lot from you! I replace a lot of parts alone by my self and i build one eye catching car!!! There is still some things to do but it is not such issue, thank you for every secund you share with us! God bless you
Hi Bruno thanks for sharing I have a question or a request do have a video on the removal and fitting of giulietta tct gearbox with all the clutch settings and calibrations
I have a question: my Mito popped the rght hand differential seal (the seal you refit, but the other side) but in the 10Km I had to drive slowly home, it seems like the bearing has taken a beating and three of the rollers came out with the driveshaft 😑😑 Any idea if I can replace the bearing with the gearbox in place? I have pullers on hand - I really don't fancy dropping the gearbox out if I can help it. I guess I better check the left side as well while I'm at it 😬 (PS: Obviously I will count rollers to make sure none have fallen inside...)
@@alfaromeonoproblem Yes, thanks, done more research now. I'm going to split the diff with the gearbox in the car and replace the bearings and seals, then whack it back in and see what I've got... if the rest of the box isn't like a bag of nails it gives me a while to get a press and a bearing kit together... By the way, if you do a search for "Fiat 500. Reparacion caja de cambios" the guy Pedro Marin Larrosa has done a great rebuild video on the box. Thanks for coming back to me, and for the channel in general. Keep up the good work 👍👍😎😎
@@alfaromeonoproblem So out she came - and what a mess 😶😶 The right side bearing had destroyed itself and the diff had been wobbling around in the housing - it even managed to knock a hole in the housing (luckily on the "bottom" half, not the gearbox itself) It's about 20mm x10mm and I should be able to repair it with fibreglass. I can't feel any play in the output shaft, but I'm going to bite the bullet and take the whole box out tomorrow, purely because of the amount of swarf and crap in the diff housing, and on journey home, while all gears were noisy as you'd expect, third was particularly horrible sounding. Having gone this far, I'll kick myself if I have to do it all again. Once again, thanks for your help 👍👍
18:38 A little play is normal throughout the whole length of the cup right? Or does it have to be completely tight all the way? I have a very minimal play on the inner joints and im wondering if i should service them or not yet cuz the ones i have on the car are worse than yours!
Hi, hope you can help me with the following? I have a 156 2.4 jtd 20v, I see the air intake has oil at the throttle body. When driving the car searches in speed and also lags when acceleration. I removed the turbo, but don't see any oil leak.
Hi Bruno. I have installed a new driveshaft but I still have vibrations up under load at 30 and 80. This used to happen with the old driveshaft and the problem then was sporadic. But now with new driveshaft the problem is always there (but less pronounced). I'm wondering if i fitted it correctly or if my gearbox is shot. I have some play up and down if i wiggle the cup but i don't know what is normal and what isn't. Engine is 2.4 and gearbox is f40 manual 6 speed.
Hello. Unfortunately I've seen this a lot. The new driveshafts may be bad from the box. That's why I repair myself. I cannot trust rebuild it new from the box
@alfaromeonoproblem how do I know it is not the bearings in the gearbox? It was kind of doing this also with the old driveshaft, but can't tell if it is original or not.
I would be very happy if you answer.I am a 2005 model 1.6 TS 156 user.Engine renewed thermostat and water circulation were replaced with original parts. But the temperature still exceeds 90 degrees (The line between 90 and 130) It gets close to 110 degrees when stuck in traffic or going uphill. When the road gets better, it drops to 90 degrees again. Do you think this is normal?
Wish I had just done mine myself, shop I went to here in NZ claimed they were not serviceable and charged a tonne for an entire shaft and 7hrs labour 💀
Thanks for watching, some are not worth servicing. But thing is, rebuild ones are awful! New ones, only from GKN like the original ones are decent. Hope everything is good with yours
A guy from work had that issue with the worn out splines on the driveshaft/semiaxle on his Zafira A 2.0 DTi. And not just play, it was completelly turning on the splines under heavier acceleration. Your engine is 115 hp? A new complete SKF driveshaft is 220 euroes. I would just get that instead of messing with all of this. It is not worth it if the part is available.
The mechanic here in Southern Spain has just put on a new (remanufactured?) driveshaft (the longer one), and the vibration is actually the same if not worse than before 😮. I am going to ask him who the manufacturer is.
@@CostaTropicaldeGranada I don't think there are factory remanufactored ones. I would just buy a new one from a reputable manufacturer. Basically sort by price, highest first.
@@alfaromeonoproblem But the CV joint that you have installed is SFK. :D For 140 hp it is the same part and price. The SKF one is 3 times more than the Chinese GSP.

Hello. Check out the engine mounts are properly secure.
The bearings of the differential? You have to remove it out of the car.

Perform a diagnosis, do not replace anything
Hi!
I have a 147 and the problem is that the oil is leaking somewhere (valve cover gasket replaced) and a lot of oil is gone (5w40)

@AlfaAddict very improbable, and they would make noise. Really not the gearbox

Could the engine be damaged due to these temperatures (95-110)?
(did not lose any water)
Hello. Yes, it's normal. But check out if the resistor for the first fan speed is ok
If the system is good, no leaks, no problem
