  • It has been recently announced that Lakemont Park will not be operating any of its rides for the 2024 season.
Skyliner at Lakemont Park in Altoona, PA.
Originally built in 1960 at Roseland Park in Canandaigua, NY, this wooden coaster was made by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company and designed by John Allen. The L-shaped double-out and back coaster is 2,400 feet long, standing at a max height of 60 feet. When Roseland Park closed in 1985, Lakemont Park (known as Boyertown USA at the time) bought the ride and relocated it, opening for the 1987 season. Skyliner now operates in a unique location behind the outfield of the Peoples Natural Gas minor-league baseball stadium.

It was very sad to hear that Lakemont management will no longer be operating rides. I hope Skyliner and Leap the Dips will be okay.

Leap the Dips can't be demolished it's a registered historic landmark. Skyliner however might be doomed.

Hopefully it'll go on the market. Perhaps Delgrossos? All they have is a Crazy Mouse.

@@randomtraveler9854 I definitely think Leap the Dips and Skyliner will be saved. I think it'd be cool if DelGrosso's got one of them, but where would you put it?
