Your one of the few U/tubers that explains fully and is easy to follow. Thank you very much for your excellent tutorials from which i have learned some very useful information regarding all things Quad.
Thank you for this video. It was slow enough to allow me to understand without being boring . I just ordered a new taranis SE and I can’t wait to do these steps
Common problem. People are always nervous if they can't safely roll back to where they were. I just did a video on exactly this for Betaflight. I think I'll do one on Open TX and Taranis config.
Hey I'm new to taranis and I just wanted to say thanks for posting this video. I have now set up a switch to reset my timer and also to read out the value of the timer. I'm using your videos to learn my way around the taranis. Thanks again!
brother you are an amazing teacher! I've learned so much from you and can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate your detailed videos. Hope to meet you and fly together one day!
GREAT video!!! Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge and experience. I do hope you make more vid tips on the Taranis.., I'll be watching out for them! -new subscriber 👍🏼😊
Good stuff as always, sorry for the random question, but I think I've got range issues with taranis ( I've got the x9d+ no mods with xsb on my GT200) both the xsb and the x4r in ideal conditions I am seeing ~15-17 meters for a range test before critical rssi, and I've frequently had drone failsafe at ~100-125m in perfect los conditions, frustrating watching your pride and joy tumbling to the ground, fortunately my frame is still standing despite electronics having taken battering... Documentation mentions 30m for range test, not sure if I should expect to be getting that before critical?
Hi there. I tried it and got in my nerves. Me x-lite doesn't understand the first logical switch when i set rssi = 0 . Even if i put it 3000db it doesn't activate the logical switch. Although i get telemetry lost idication and the indication for rssi strength desapears. If i set a>x then the logical switch is activated when i plug the battery and get telemetry. So the problem is to read the low or zero value of the rssi. Why is that. Did you notice it at any test?
Hi, first at all thanks for the videos. Do you know where the telemetry cable from an FrSky XSR or x4r-sb goes to on a d-link f3 v2? Is this possible on a Diatone gt200. Thanks in advance.
Mr. Whirlybird, To give you some positive feedback. This video is awesome. I think I followed your instructions to the T. My Taranis X9D+ is not counting down. What's weird on the setting for voice mine has voice 10s. Also, I have 13 pages, not 12. My update on the Taranis is 2.2.3 the same on the bootloader. If you think you might know what's going on help would be appreciated. Yes, I have the TM% set. Thank you, Sir.
I'm use fail safe key into SG Down. Can i set up likt this? When the Rssi under 60, Turn on SG switch. I want to setup to logical switch How to make it?? Can you help me? please
Thanks, I'm a big fan of the momentary switch, I use it to ignite my rocket motor on my Durafly ME 163 Komet.. that's a great tip to use it for timer reset , thanks! I see you have the 5 db antenna , do you get much increase in range? Cheers , Simon. 😀
At 34 mins I explain how to use the momentary switch to reset the timer. A logical switch is created that when you long press (hold) the momentary switch the timer is reset. That's so you can have two functions on one switch. ruclips.net/video/4z-OknJPng4/видео.html
do you know if telemetry can be used to control things on models? eg, if you have esc telemetry giving rpm could you then use that rpm value to increase or decrease the throttle to give a constant rpm? i know its better to do it on the esc governor mode but if that wasn't available?
@@WhirlyBloke not played with that stuff too much, have just had a thought tho, you could do a logic switch for A>X where A is esc rpm X is a fixed value. when that is over x value it triggers a special function to drop the throttle to a fixed value. that way you could run a V shaped throttle curve to keep the rpm up in normal flight but if you dive it and the rpm goes over a safe rpm it drops the throttle off to say 25%
Question: Do you know the setup to start the timer at 10% of the throttle ? Or in the other way, how to stop the timer below 10% of the throttle ? This would be cool (implemented on FlySky transmitter) as if you do not completely throttle down, the timer still counts, this is frustrating.
I'm just curious as to whether this utter cluster-fuck of a process has to be repeated for every new model added? Wouldn't that be a bonus... Keep up the good work, Bloke.

Thanks mate. I've got my style and I stick to it. Glad you find out helpful.
Let me know if there's any other tutorials you'd like to see and I'll add them to the (big) list.

The amount of times I come back to use this video! Thanks Fella!
That's why I make 'em. If you've got anything you'd like me to cover let me know.
Whirly Bloke I've never had the balls to update my taranis.... could you spell it out? How to update and not lose your models?
Common problem. People are always nervous if they can't safely roll back to where they were. I just did a video on exactly this for Betaflight. I think I'll do one on Open TX and Taranis config.
Whirly Bloke That would be Class!
It's on the list.

For the volume control, you can select "ON" instead of selecting a switch, then assign the dial S1 or S2. Thanks for the vids!
Good idea.
WOW BRILL SO EASY TO FOLLOW WELL DONE BUD BEST IVE SEEN
brother you are an amazing teacher! I've learned so much from you and can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate your detailed videos. Hope to meet you and fly together one day!
That was a great video. I just added the volume control to my QX7 and love it! Thanks!
Excellent video. You are a great teacher and your videos are easy to follow... Professor Whirly Bloke.
Thanks for your kinds words.
that was great , my radio is much better now. Thanks
Awesome. Thanks for watching.
Cheers - great stuff - If you select a Special Function and long-press Enter, it opens the Cut-Copy-Paste-Delete menu. :)
Nice job, sir! Very useful info. Good pacing on presentation allowed me to program with minimal rewinds.
Very thorough. Good job. Covered all bases.
Just started watching you or found you on RUclips. Man, you good. Have learned a lot in the last couple of days.
Hey mate yr the best I just got my Taranis ,and I have learned so much from you thanks heaps very happy 😊.👍👍👍
Great help, thank you.
Glad it helped.
cheers whirly bloke that helped me alot
great video helped a lot
Glad it helped
Nice paint job on the Taranis
GREAT video!!! Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge and experience. I do hope you make more vid tips on the Taranis.., I'll be watching out for them! -new subscriber 👍🏼😊
You can put the Volume control in the 'General Functions' in the radio-menu-settings so it applies to all your models. :)
I really should revisit this with an update.
Thanks! I also would like to know where or how to get more voice alarms.
Great advice thxs! This noob is for ever great full!😃😃😃👍🏻🥇
Nice vid, easy to understand :) ty heaps
You can also have volume set to a global function. Set the switch to ON, set to Volume, and select the pot you want
Good point.

This video is amazing
another great video! Which voice pack are you using?

thanks for this learning video, but my TaranisQX7S count upwards in this timer settings.
Thanks for watching and the feedback.
Nice tutorial!. Question: I am missing the ARMED, DISARMED PlayTrak sounds. Where do you get them?

When the Rssi under 60, Turn on SG switch.
I want to setup to logical switch
How to make it?? Can you help me? please
Use the same technique as I used for creating logical switches in the video, but use RSSI. You will need a telemetry enabled receiver though.
Thanks, I'm a big fan of the momentary switch, I use it to ignite my rocket motor on my Durafly ME 163 Komet.. that's a great tip to use it for timer reset , thanks!

That is really helpful but how do i reset the timer?
At 34 mins I explain how to use the momentary switch to reset the timer. A logical switch is created that when you long press (hold) the momentary switch the timer is reset. That's so you can have two functions on one switch. ruclips.net/video/4z-OknJPng4/видео.html

Interesting. I'll give it some thought.

For your own sake get the m9 hall effect gimbals they are spectacular and totally worthwhile
i've got them on my other X9D.

Do you need open TX for these settings or can I do with with the default firmware?
This is all standard OpenTX stuff that will already be installed on your Taranis.
I'm just curious as to whether this utter cluster-fuck of a process has to be repeated for every new model added? Wouldn't that be a bonus... Keep up the good work, Bloke.
There's nothing to stop you having one model setup on your Taranis that works for all your quads.
I had to be the 1000 sub baby yea!!
Star!
my timer counts and says - value. Puzzled.
