    Great video & home gym setup! Are you concerned at all with dropping the bumper plates and possibly shattering the mirrors or should it hold up?

    How would you do it if you have insulation and poly sheeting covering the cement?

    • @MaverickMakersUSA
      @MaverickMakersUSA  Месяц назад +1

      Without having more details my guess is I'd secure plywood with longer screw to the cement over the sheeting, then attach the channels to the plywood.

    Hi - if I’m going to do clips on top I would still use the same anchors as with j channel for cinder block wall correct?

    How heavy are the mirrors? Do those J channels have a weight limit?

    • @MaverickMakersUSA
      @MaverickMakersUSA  Год назад

      Each mirror is 25 pounds. The J channels supports 50 pounds per the manufacturer.

    hey maverick, thanks for the vid. you made it looked super easy, I did 4 mirrors but took me all day. following everything exactly but my concern is that it bows about 8mm in the center of the vertical mirrors compared to the top and bottom of how it sits in the channel. should I shimmy a foam in there with glue to anchor the center of the mirrors? does yours bow in the middle as well and could this lead to future breakage of the glass? thanks in advance!

    • @MaverickMakersUSA
      @MaverickMakersUSA  3 года назад

      Hey Kev, I admit this is not the easiest install method, but I used it because I prefer the aesthetic. I don't have any bowing in my mirrors. If I understand your description correctly the mirror itself is bowing due to it being tight between the tracks? The track may need to be adjusted, but you may also want to try an alternative install method with a track at the bottom and clip/anchors on top.

      Thin mirrors will bow out. I’ve used double sided tape in the middle, and you can add extra adhesive on the concrete side of the tape

    How did you get the mirror to slide in the J Channel with the Tap Con screws? The Tap Con screw heads seem to be a good amount thicker than the heads of the screws that come with the J channel I bought. I’m nervous the mirror won’t slide in the J channel with the Tap Con screws in there. Was there a specific way you made the mirror still fit? Or just forced it in there?

    • @BenKolka

      How did this turn out? I bought 1/4 J channel but wonder if I will need to use a 3mm mirror instead of 6mm to compensate.

    • @MaverickMakersUSA
      @MaverickMakersUSA  Год назад

      Im not sure what brand of mirror and J channel you are using, but you could insert the screw through the hole and see how much the head protrudes and if it interferes with the channel space where the mirror sits. The J channel I used allowed for the heads of the screws to stand out without issue.
