If you hold the pitch button down in classic mode it will end up vibrating at some point. This is the point of release for an accurate pitch. This point is different depending on the pitcher. The goal is to time the release of the button just as it vibrates or learn the pitchers specific spot in his windup to release the button.
When you said “ If you played Skate vs Tony Hawk that was a instant like and follow ! Great Vid also and I dunno I have not played this game since 2011 but I’m playing again and I really love meter for 23 call me crazy I guess lol
I started on Classic but thats because I've been playing this game series since it was MLB Pennant Race on Playstation 1. Since they added meter to the series I've used it ever since. I wouldn't mind it if they added "crosshair" from the MLB 2K games. I liked using that style on the 2K games.
Holy crap. Pinpoint.....the whole time i have been just flicking the stick drawing the pattern and trying to hit the circles. I didnt know you could wait that long to go down and finish the pitch. I thought you had to do the ENTIRE MOVE before he threw the ball. No wonder my pitches are so damn bad
Thank you for the detailed tutorial, I was LOST but I´m getting strikeouts now :) I need to practice both base stealing and protecting base stealing, hopefully you make a video of that! Thanks again sir!
I’ve always used pulse, never tried anything else. One thing I’ve always done is go, “Five, Six, Seven, Eight.” Or “Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve.” You’re not always going to get the result you want, but once you start consistently getting “Perfect” timing on your pitches it’ll start getting harder for your opponents to hit what’s coming at them. It is not the best way to go about it, I imagine there’s a much better system, but it’s the one I hold dearest to my heart lol.
Same lol.. as a musician it’s super easy to get the timing down on pulse. I just wish I could figure out how to pitch to contact with certain guys in the game, it seems like they always foul off balls that should be easy soft grounders.
Thank god for pin point . I was a mlb 2k player before it was discontinued and I refused to get mlb the show cuz they didn’t have joystick pinpoint . Thats the only way to pitch..
I absolutely suck at this pitching mode but your video definitely explained why I sucked. I'm trying to learn it while using a knuckle pitcher, it's hard lol. Thanks for the help though!
@BryanEVOLVED I was literally pitching my RTS in the minors and they pulled me after the 6 straight walk and 3 run allowed.... Definitely needs practice lol
Hey man I’ve noticed that when you pitch on Xbox the catcher doesn’t throw up suggestions for pitches and different locations like MLB the show 21 and 22 did is there setting to turn that on ?
When you are in the gameplay options menu, go to “display” and make sure “fielding aids” is turned on and then make sure “cpu pitch suggestion” is turned on and you should be good to go.
When i pitch if i hold the button for any pitch the controller vibrates not sure if it’s because I’m holding the button to long but who knows i haven’t played any MLB game since the PS3. Thanks for the video as i prefer pitching more than anything tbh.
I'm going to assume you're using just "classic" pitching. So if you hold it down till it vibrates you're essentially maxing out the power on that pitch. So if you used meter, it's akin to filling the meter all the way up to throw as hard as you can. Hope this helps!
Few reasons why it could be doing it: 1. Controller vibrates if your pitch marker is outside the strike zone while aiming where to throw it. 2. Controller vibrates during what it considers a high tension at bat (usually someone on 2/3B and big bat up to bat).
Fast pitches to off speeds. Pitches that have opposite movements. Inside 2 seam that's a ball is a good pitch Next inside slider as a strike High fastballs work great. Ahead of the count? 2 strikes? High fast ball out of zone He doesn't swing? High curveball.or sinker as he will think it's a high fastballs again and it will drop in. Low outside fastball is always great to start off. Once he catches on throw it out of the zone or use a changeup instead same spot And just get in their head. I pitched from about 11-17 and was good. And in the game it's no different about getting into the batters head.
It’s definitely something that requires a lot of practice. Heavily recommend just playing against the CPU. Otherwise you’ll be too busy being mad from all the dingers you give up to real players. I would know. 🙃

Thank you!!!
I was legit going crazy trying to figure out why I kept walking every single person with this setting.

Thanks for watching pal! And we’ll add that to the list as well!
Thank you for this. I'm brand new to the series because MVP 2005 just holds up but the RTTS mode and the Negro Leagues sold me on it.

That’s actually a super clever technique

Thank you for a very good video. Helped me alot.
Can practice mode be done with your created road to the show character?
Thank god for pin point . I was a mlb 2k player before it was discontinued and I refused to get mlb the show cuz they didn’t have joystick pinpoint . Thats the only way to pitch..

Yes but How do you get to classic from the gameplay setting?
What does the red and yellow mean when you flick the stick up in pure analog? Can you get a green?

That’s my problem with pitching, idk what pitches to do because I’m not really a baseball fan, just like playing the games
Fast pitches to off speeds.

Next inside slider as a strike
High fastballs work great.

Decided to pick up MLB got tired of playing NBA 2k this pinpoint pitching shit kicking my ass

I tried tried tried and tried. I can't do it. Gotta stay with meter pitching
How turn it back to classic mode
In the settings menu, you should be able to click over to "defense" and change it to classic there.
You don't understand classic. It's about release. That's y you had no control.
You're playing meter wrong with Chevron I've been playing this game for many years I'm a veteran player
Stop killing Yourself ‼️😂😅😅😆 Meter🎯 Pitching is the BEST‼️😂😅😆
