Mike Cornejo You honestly have to low-key feel bad for the Mongols. Like holy shit was that bad luck on their part (aside from conquering pretty much the rest of Asia of course)
American justification was that they wanted to save lives by terrifying the Japanese government into surrender, but like he said they probably accomplished that with the first one. Second one was most likely to scare Russia and gain leverage while negotiating with them for the post-WW2 World.

The invention of the katana came from one of the mongol invasions. They samurai went on boats at night to attack the mongol fleet and couldn't get to grips with their long swords on the ships...so a shorter one was made. And the 'tornado' was called the divine wind or kamikaze.
Hor Net a lot of sushi is boiled or baked. Some doesn’t even contain fish or meat. “Sashimi” is the only type of sushi that refers to the variety of raw meat. It includes many kinds of raw fish, eggs, squid, and even other animals like horse, “basashi”.
@Joe Casson Because the most popular kind of sushi in the US was usually raw fish, rice & Japanese mustard, wrapped in seaweed. The raw fish part was a new concept to a lot of people in the US starting in the 80s, and the only place you could get sashimi was also at a sushi restaurant.
Yes! I was hoping you'd do this one too. The history of the entire world, I guess, was one of my favs. This is like "Even crazier SPACE DUST" Hello Franks Dad too. Very cool dude.

SO they dropped both bombs just to see how both worked in combat.
So you're about half way there we new the uranium bomb would work because we tested it. The Plutonium bomb was a mystery because in theory it worked, but we(we being the USA) didn't know if it worked in practice. Fun Fact: The trigger mechanism for the bomb has almost certainly saved more lives than it has cost. Due to the trigger mechanism being the same trigger mechanism that sets off Air Bags in cars.
Fun history fact, the logic for dropping the bomb *was* to save laves. To end the war with Japan it was estimated to cost both sides an estimated 500,000 lives vs. the bomb being dropped which was roughly 50,000 (of course this doesn't include issues like cancer from radiation but we didn't know about all that at the time. whoops). The reason we dropped the second one was because Japan wanted to continue the war because they thought "shit that bomb is so crazy there's no way they have a second one." And *surpise* we had a second one, so the emperor forced a surrender because he didn't want to see the entire country get turned to glass because the generals didn't want to admit defeat.
There's a lot of evidence, not shown in our history books, or in the media, suggesting that Japan was actually trying to surrender. The U.S. had it's own track record of atrocities in WW2, I'm sorry to say, so the argument that this was a grossly disproportionate isn't so crazy... Something so horrific needs a selling point, but even if we take the reasoning at face value, incinerating over 200,000 people and subjecting an area to far reaching radiation fall out is a bit of a stretch. The allies were winning quite handily. We could have just as easily blockaded Japan and starved them out, saving even MORE lives, and not irradiating a populated landmass, which by the way, affected the entire planet...

The bomb also humbled Japan. They refused to give up, so the US said "OK, well, I guess we'll kill all of you. Have some huge fucking bombs." Then Japan said "Woah, Ok Ok you got us. And then they saw the error of their arrogant ways and became super humble as a way of life. Because they did NOT want to see what bomb three would do.
We dropped the second bomb because they thought we only had the one. We showed them they were incorrect and it won us the war. I don't feel bad about it. Better than invading mainland Japan.
@gotove that is such a stupid comment on so many fronts. You’re obviously a Zionist conspiracy theorist to bring that up in this conversation so I leave that alone, but to suggest that the US had the power to change the Japanese government in the 1830-40s is idiotic. I am well aware of the US involvement in Japan at that time, but you are apparently not aware that the US was a fledgling nation only 60 years old trying to get its footing. Mexico was easily much stronger than the US at that time. Texas was a it own country. California and other areas out west were part of Mexico and we were headed towards a civil war. In the !850s & 60s there was a rebel uprising against the Shgunate government in protest of foreign involvement in Japan that was put down by the Britain, France, Holland, and token involvement in the US, but if anything this strengthens the existing Japanese government. The nuclear attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were actually a strategy with two goals: 1. Force the Japanese to recognize their struggle was pointless; the U.S. avoided hitting Tokyo to keep their center of power intact, but we proved to their military that we had destructive capabilities which far outstripped theirs, thus averting a long, difficult, and bloody land battle on the Japanese mainland. 2. Demonstrate to the rest of the world - particularly, the Soviet Union - the strength of our new atomic bomb. This backfired when several Manhattan Project scientists defected to the USSR. One could say that the Cold War began the instant that first bomb was detonated in Hiroshima.

the Bomb was used for two reasons mainly. US Government already knew it worked. The first reason why the US used the A-Bomb was to end the war. Millions of US soldiers would have died invading Japan. The other reason was the stop the Soviet Union. The Soviets after defeating Germany was invading Japanese lands in Manchuria and Korea & were moving very fast. USA was scared if the war kept going on and on that Soviet would end up in control of all of Korea, Large Parts of China and maybe half of Japan (similar to Germany). This is why USA dropped the bomb otherwise South Korea would never exist and all Korea would be communist and half of Japan would be Communist. This would have also allowed China to get out of control once Communism won the civil war and may have ended up with Communist China controlling Taiwan too. As sad as the Nukes on Japan were IT WAS THE RIGHT CALL, and absolutely necessary. The reason the USA dropped a 2nd bomb was because after the 1st one the Japanese would still not surrender. The Military hardliners were trying to force the Emperor to keep the war going which would have resulted in MULTI MILLIONS (much more than Bombs caused) Japanese deaths and Millions of American deaths. Basically the USA Nukes killed a few hundred thousand but saved MULTI MILLIONS of lives as well as allowed for some form of Freedom for Korea, Northern Japan and Taiwan. Absolutely the right call to drop the Bombs.
11:50 The bombs were dropped because Japan wouldn't surrender even after the US dropped tons of bombs and napalm on them. To avoid a land invasion that would kill thousands of US troops they nuked Hiroshima which was targeted for being a military city at the time and after Japan still didn't surrender the US dropped another bomb on Nagasaki which was an industrial city providing firepower to the rest of the country. Even though it is true that the US tested the bombs out for the first time it is a majorly oversimplified claim in the video.
WRONG. The soviets were in ruin from the Nazi’s and didn’t have a nuke program at the time. They did it so that millions would not die forcing the Japanese to stop fighting
Eric Starnes “WRONG” is a little too harsh. There’s a lot of truth to what you said. The Americans were shocked to see Japanese civilians jumping off cliffs to kill themselves rather than surrender on Saipan. Japanese government propaganda during the war had convinced them that we would absolutely brutalize them and had even women in the homeland practicing with sharpened sticks. It was calculated that an invasion would have produced a huge amount of casualties to the American troops and a colossal amount of Japanese civilian casualties. F D has a good point as well. Stalin was very full of himself after the war. When the Pope was brought up, probably because of the Poles. He famously retorted “how many divisions does he have?”
Lazzen these days? Yes. Back then no. I’m not saying they were stupid for not listening. Just stating what happened. Honestly the damage done in Hiroshima looks a lot like the damage done by the firebombing damage in Tokyo.
Not so much the emperor refusing as the leaders of the country’s military refusing to back down. There was a sizable segment that actually was in favor of surrendering, but they didn’t have the political clout to make it happen until after the bombs were dropped.
I haven't read through the comments so this probably might have been said several times before the war with Japan in World War II the conditions were an unconditional surrender the same was for Germany they all had an unconditional surrender if they wanted to stop fighting all they had to do was to stop unconditionally Japan would not surrender unconditionally because of their pride we were going to invade Japan the estimated human life lost on the American side was over 1 million they drop both bombs on Japan and it still took Japan a week to surrender in the long run it probably saved close to 3 million lives .
Haha its more complex than that about the Atomic bombs... They already knew it worked testing one at Alamogordo, New Mexico desert in the Middle of nowhere to see before they used it in action. We needed the 2 atomic bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki to bring Japan to its knees because a Normandy style invasion of mainland Japan would have cost one million American lives. So the Atomic bombs really saved lives. Yeah 200,000 Japanese Civilians died in both but it ended the bloodiest war in History!

Also the bomb dropped on Hiroshima was nicknamed “little boy” and the one dropped on Nagasaki “fat man”

the Bomb was used for two reasons mainly.
*_GODZILLA_*_ lives in Japan_
You should have the O.G in more of your vids! ✌️😗💨
I love Japan.
Even though it is true that the US tested the bombs out for the first time it is a majorly oversimplified claim in the video.
thats a dope playstation hoodie!
Eat the cooked sushi like I do. I eat the crab with cream cheese and avocado.
They were also flexing their muscle to the Soviets with the two bombs
They had to drop 2 bombs because the emperor refused to surrender from what I remember
You are correct. And the reason the first one was dropped is because millions would have died if the fighting had continued VS 100,000 from the bomb
@@SignalCorps1 well.... millions of americans, japanese citizens weren't high on the list of priorities at the time
@@Heiryuu if your enemy in a war said "we have a weapon that can wipe off an entire state off the map" would you believe them?
Lazzen these days? Yes. Back then no. I’m not saying they were stupid for not listening. Just stating what happened. Honestly the damage done in Hiroshima looks a lot like the damage done by the firebombing damage in Tokyo.
Not so much the emperor refusing as the leaders of the country’s military refusing to back down. There was a sizable segment that actually was in favor of surrendering, but they didn’t have the political clout to make it happen until after the bombs were dropped.
NO! NO THREE PEOPLE! ONLY TWO PEOPLE! ALWAYS TWO PEOPLE!
Took me a minute, I was like hold up ya'all know Scarface? Also, Sushi is bomb. I took my girl out on Sat to sushi, $185 later.
Anthony Alexander was the chick Japanese?
I think one of the bombs was an explosion and one was an implosion, that's why they dropped two, to test effectiveness.
That was a cool video, I'm surprised Yakuza was not mentioned
