After watching the original video, i only have one thought in my mind
World peace = Everything
Relationship with CHRIST ALMIGHTY = Everything, compromising that for anything, including worldly false "peace" is beneath irrational.
@@wolfdaddy7098 Starting to call the state of whatever country where they don't believe in your favorite fairytale "false peace" doesn't sound like a good recipe to maintain peace.
Calling others "irrational" while being irrational isn't very smart...
@@wolfdaddy7098I myself am Christian, and while a relationship with Him is important, I would argue that God would care fuck all if you decided to work for world peace; you should love God above all else, but what does He want you to do? Love others as you love yourself. It's not by being as asshole and forcing people to become Christians to be like you so you can like them, too, it's by being a decent human being who gets along with other people who are so different from you through compromise and true agape, unconditional love.
TLDR: a relationship with God as a loyal child of His entails being a peacemaker.
That's funny, it seems to make up very little of the video...

One thing I've always appreciated about this "History of Japan" video is the moment of silence the creator puts after the atomic bombs. The whole video is done like a joke even when some of the most brutal actions are taking place, but he doesn't joke about the atomic bombs. He delivers it the same as everything else at first but then he gives a moment of silence out of respect for what just happened.
It's one of the many reasons this is an Internet classic.
Ive seen this video many times and seen many reactions to this video but yours was actually really well done. The way you concisely elaborated that little bit further on key points made this an enjoyable and interesting watch :)

13:33 the second bomb was supposed to be dropped in Kokura - now part of Kitakyushu - to cut off Kyushu from the rest of Japan in preparation for the American invasion, but there were too many clouds. So the planes went to the other option - Nagasaki.
And the Zionist controlled government of the USA ignored that Japan already surrendered for about a week or so, cause they really, *really* wanted to see what the effects of the nuke does to human bodies. 😑
Mongol invaders were wiped out by tornados or kamikaze (god wind). This gives the kamikaze pilots in WW2 the context i never knew. Thanks for the insight.

He left out my favorite Japanese Legend: God visited japan, went to mount fuji-sama to rest, but was turned away. Then he went to Mount Tsukuba, but was welcomed! The mountain even made himself into the shape of a hammock - for god to rest comfortably. The god cursed Fuji to be forever barren, dry, dead and lifeless, and Tsukuba to be forever filled with life. Wild, huh!? That' what the tour guide on Mt. Tsukuba told us.
There's also the whole fumie thing which supposedly only the dutch were willing to do (out of the christian foreign powers). I have no idea where I heard this so it might be completely wrong.
I’ll always argue that the Japanese people and culture are the most unique and respectable group of humans the world has ever created. There’s a quote that I love “the Japanese are like everyone else…. But more”
It's pretty amazing that less than 100 years ago, the U.S and Japan were vicious enemies that did horrible things to each other on the battlefield, and now Japan is one of our closest allies. Hope that never changes.
This was a very entertaining video and it is also very rare in the fact that unlike many others you added quite a bit on top of what he was saying 👍
As someone who could not be further from Japan, it was always interesting to me how different the Japanese culture has evolved due to periods of isolation and also natural disasters and centuries of war, forcing people to be less individualistic and more cooperative and respectful to each other and especially authority. It really is one of the most unique societies\cultures that exists.

I was just in Japan, amd our guide had an interesting thought regarding it.
80% of Japanese people are Shintoists, which isn't really a religion in the conventional sense.
You don't go to church and there is no book of rules you have to follow.
Bit certain virtues are espoused in Shintoism, and a big one is that societal harmony is way more important than the "rights" of the individual.
I heard the act of bushido, the warrior code the Samurai lived by, the Samurai were like the feudal knights in Japan
The Japanese trusted the Kamikaze (divine wind) against the Mongols

Japanese always seem to be surprised the video ends in the beginning of the Heisei era.
What happened in the Heisei era?
Besides the Sarin Gas attacks.
The Heisei Era was where everything began to stagnate. Again. The economic bubble burst and now people who got used to having everything going right needed to deal with life starting to become a little more shit like it is for most everyone alive.
I liked what you said at the end about the peace in the Edo period. 200 years is long enough for many people to live entire lives, and they never experienced the war before. But we should not forget it can happen again. Humans return to war eventually. This is sad but true. I worry about the world now.

It means "root" or "origin" as well. In fact, that could be it's primary meaning. Lots of words use that kanji, like honrai, honshuu, honsha, honki...

I never understood why Japan considered being a "victim" of being bombed by atomic bombs, and the US just did what you did in China and Southeast Asia and Australia, only with bigger bombs.
Your comment raises a valid point. Throughout the war, not only Japan but also other regions faced various hardships. Reflecting on history, we are reminded of the tragic nature of war and the many lives lost. Looking towards the future, I believe it is important to build peace and understanding
Dropping 2 atomic bombs on civilian areas was a completely unnecessary use of power. But it does not exclude the war crimes that Japan committed with Koreans and Chinese mainly, who were as brutal as the Nazis.
The victims of Nagasaki and Hiroshima are no less victims because of their government. As the victims of 7/11 are no less victims of all the wars that the USA has committed or promoted.
@@fchicod But Japan has obviously downplayed why this happened in its textbooks, and just ignored the crime to teach anti-war ideas. The result of this is that there are a large number of capitulationists in Japan, and of course they call themselves pacifists.

@@ojn0071 Of course, but other countries also downplay their own atrocities. America doesn't properly teach its children of the brutal genocide done to natives, or the Japanese internment camps during the war. The effects it's had in sewing conflict in both South America and the Middle East, etc.
I can't speak for how Japan presents the war to it's people. But America is pretty split on the concept of having dropped the bombs, because they were never intended for use in Japan.
They were developed for use against Germany, and largely out of fear of Germany developing the technology, first. Japan was definitely commiting war atrocities and needed to be stopped, but an atomic bomb not only punishes civilians, it punishes future generations.
Considering Germany was pulling out of the war at the time, the need to have dropped the bombs has been debated. I, for one, can understand why the first was dropped if people thought it would bring the war to a close and save soldier's lives.
What I can't wrap my mind around is why a second one was dropped. Without even giving Japan enough time to assess the damage and surrender. There was no way for Japan to have created a nuclear weapon of their own so it's not as if America was worried about some sort of immediate retaliation.
They could have waited.
My only guess is that the people who made the call weren't scientists, and weren't physically there to see the destruction, so they didn't have a grasp on what they were ordering done.
The differnce between Germany and Japan is Germany learned from their mistakes in WW2 and made a collective effort as a society to remember and teach their future generations.
That's why Western countries are all on such good terms with Germany today, including Israel. Germany has EARNED their forgiveness ❤
Japan, on the other hand, enshrines its war criminals, refuses to teach proper WW2 history in its schools, refuses to even acknowledge many of its war crimes and ateocities, and play victim by focuing only on nuclear bombs without context. Ironically, Japan today is a colony and pupet state of the very country that dropped 2 nukes on them, while having constant disputes and claim to be threatened by it's former victims 😂😂😂
As a Japanese, I'll say we actually learned the context of nuclear bombs in school. It "seems" like we only focus on nuclear bombs, but it's just because of the tragic consequences. Although the old generation focuses more on nb, the young generation understands the context, and in fact, we don't hate the US at all. Context of Japanese alliance with Nazi Germany? Context of Japanese surprise attack of Pearl Harbor while lying about desiring peace? Context of Japanese war atrocities and human rights violations and human experiments? Context of Yasukuni Shrine being analogous to if Germany has a shrine for Nazi soldiers who did Holocaust? Are you telling me Japanese schools are teaching these things to young generation equally as the nukes? 🤣
Blaming everything on "old generation" while saying "young generation" are different when they don't even learn about the true history sounds like a very typical excuse.
Of course you don't hate the US. The US has completely beaten Japan into submission, and designed and built the whole of modern Japan into a puppet colony used to divide and conquer Asia to maintain US hegemony.
