Incredible sequel! How many like on this video to run like Jack Sparrow in my upcoming marathon?
Omg, hi I love your videos!! 💜💜
5....feel like that is a fair wager. ;D
fun fact: Jack running style was inspired by small basilisk lizzard, which can walk on water ruclips.net/video/CW0TijmAUqY/видео.htmlsi=gOEDk-SuGI2QSg3W
@@suchaniceguy11 RANGO!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😇😇😇😇😇
*_Fun Fact:_* The underlying joke when they talk about Jones "Putting his *_Heart_* into a *_Chest"_* is the fact these containers are called that specifically; *_Chests_*
20 years later, Davy Jones is still one of the best movie villains with some of the best cgi that still holds up. Bill Nighy nailed this role.
BIGGEST vilain of all time is Jenny.
Biggest villain ever created is SAURON and its not comparable to the other movies comparasion between him his power age to any other movie villain is simply unacceptable.
We are agree🦑
@@egggang5998 no. jenny is the biggest vialin. doesnt matter what power aother vilain have.
My current D&D character is physically modeled after him. He’s a triton bard named Phelonius Chunk because the group vetoed my original name, “Phil McKraken” 😂
Fun fact: When Jack was singing ‘I’ve got a jar of dirt!’, Johnny actually improvised that so the reactions on the cast were completely natural.
ruclips.net/video/VVkMoXTlrrI/видео.html&pp=ygUTaSBnb3QgYSBqYXIgb2YgZGlydA%3D%3D
including the part where he fell down the stairs, that he did not plan 🤣
This fun fact is becoming the "Viggo broke his toe when kicking the helmet" of the Pirates franchise.
@@Jeremy_Black92 thats so true and i love it
Funny thing is I never read this before and I have watched several reaction channels react to this @@Jeremy_Black92
So some background on Jack, Beckett and the pearl. Jack was originally hired by Beckett in secret to sail a slave ship called the wicked wench carrying 100 slaves, Jack whilst at sea deemed that people weren’t cargo so liberated the slaves (a scene deleted from worlds end because fuck knows why), Beckett then ordered Jack to be branded, the ship to be set on fire and sank with Jack and all slaves onboard. As Jack was dying at the bottom of the ocean with the slaves, Davy Jones came to him and offered him a deal, he’d raise the Wench, the 100 slaves and allow Jack to be captain for 13 years, and then in return once those 13 years were up, Jack had to serve 100 years aboard the Dutchman, each year for the life of a slave. Jack agreed, the wench was raised, painted black to hide the fire damage, cursed with speed and then renamed the black pearl. The 100 slaves for 100 years is the reason Jones jones says “100 souls”
Also , the slaves he freed are supposedly the people mourning him at the end of the movie
I hate how this information isn't usually available to find easily unless you already know, thank you for pointing it out so that Angelina can know!
I really don't understand the wisdom of deleting that scene. When I saw that it showed me that Jack was unequivocally a good person. Stood on principle and was willing to lay down his life to free others from captivity. Even in this movie when he shakes on 100 souls for his own, he has no intention of following through... he wants a crew to hunt the heart.
@@nefariousarcher2484 same, I really don’t like the fact that it deleted, because it shows regardless of all the bad stuff Jack has done, there is just something things he isn’t willing to do. But if you want the reason for why it was deleted then they chose to remove it because Jack as a character despite being the protagonist and framed in a good light to the audience due to that perspective, is still a pretty bad person willing to do a lot of bad stuff because he is a pirate after all. He does however have a moral conscious and from memory the way they described it was, Jack as a character has to remain ambiguous as to where his motives and allegiances lie, he’ll do bad shit but he’s not a villain, he has a moral conscious but he’s not a hero by any means, so by him saying “people aren’t cargo mate” it draws a line in the sand to something he’s not willing to do which automatically makes him more of a hero than the ambiguous anti hero of which he’s meant to be, the whole point is for it to remain unknown as to what he will and won’t do and what’s crossing the line for him because that way he can’t ever be described being a villain or a hero
@@notthefia9154 I mean my issue with it is, people aren't black and white, good and evil, there's so much grey. Jack was a guy who sailed the straight and narrow until his conscience required him free that cargo and fight against the EITC. From that point forward, the bad choices he made were more a product of or direct result of his choice to choose his conscience over expectation. It makes Jack more tragic. He was forced into the pirate life. And this wasn't just a one-off. He tries over and over in the movies to get people to make the right choices, or makes the right choice himself (albeit sometimes with difficulty).
He tries to spare Will from "doing anything stupid" in the first movie, then quickly concocts a plan to save them both.
He tries to tell Will to make his move with Elizabeth at the end of the first movie.
He tries to get Jones to let Will go the first time he meets him in the second movie.
He abandons ship, and then returns at the end. Then orders them to give up the pearl, choosing his crew over the ship he loves.
I could keep going to the last two movies, but on the off chance Angelina reads these comments, I'll omit the last two movies for now, but there's at least 5 more examples from them.
Just a note, her name isn't Tia, "tia" means "aunt" in Spanish. So her name is Dalma, and basically people just call her "Auntie Dalma".
I didn’t know that. And it’s been years you know? 😂
But Tia is also a name, not necessary a direct translation
@@youtubewontletme It could be used as one, sure, but in this case the writers have specifically said that the Tia in her name is based on the Spanish honorific.
Also (I'm sure it's well known but throwing it in anyway) it makes for an anagram of Dalmatia, a region of Croatia once known as a pirate haven.
I love your look of surprise when Barbossa came back. Fun fact, the surprised looks the cast gave were legitimate because no one told them Barbossa was coming back. 😂
The compass points to whatever you want most and what you want most can change. The scene where Elizabeth checked the compass after Norrington asked if she'd never wondered how Will ended up on the Flying Dutchman in the first place and the compass pointed to Jack. It didn't point to Jack because she wanted Jack. What she wanted most in that moment was to know the answer to that question in which the answer was Jack.
Will was on the Flying Dutchman because of Jack.
Yep
Jack biting the toe: "The intrusive thoughts won"
I’m still convinced Jacks walk is just the fully evolved version of the walk we all do when awkwardly passing over freshly mobbed floor while being judged by the person that cleaned it
It is actually a way to show that he isn't as used to walk on land as he is to walk on a ship. He is so used to the sea rocking the ship that static land isn't natural to him, hence why he walks like that but in a boat he walks totally normal. Still, I agree with your comparision 100%
The Black Spot reappeared on Jack’s hand because his 3 days to get the 99 souls ran out. It’s a way of saying Time’s Up!
I'm pretty sure Davy Jones called off the deal once he realised that Will stole the key, because he assumed that Jack had always intended Will to steal it and was never going to honour his end of the deal.
I find it funny that in the first one everyone is like “ you look just like your father Will Turner”, then you see Bootstrap in this movie, and he looks nothing like Orlando Bloom lol
I mean for one, he has a starfish stuck to his face
As much as Stellan owns the role, if they wanted a Bootstrap that more resembled Orlando (and had a more fitting accent) Colin Firth would have been perfect.
Maybe they meant back in the fathers younger years maybe that’s when they looked the most alike lol 😂
That’s pretty common.
It’s like Harry Potter.
@@amber.ren_1995 Yes, of course, we all know what they meant.
But still. Look at this photo of young Stellan Skarsgård:
i.pinimg.com/originals/95/66/dd/9566dd33fb596789b1898020089fcb5b.jpg
That's not exactly what Orlando Bloom looks like. 😉
Such a great sequel to a film that really should've never been as perfect as it was, considering it was based on a theme park ride.
Also, the ending was such a crazy twist when I saw it in the theaters back in the day.
My God I remember when people *complained* about the sequels. They certainly have their flaws but you know what the absolute love of filmmaking behind every shot makes me feel so much more than half the stuff that's released in the last 10 years.
What flaws??? Lmfao I see none ❤of
@@amber.ren_1995Well, at least in 3, the storyline was clearly rushed and a bit cut to pieces.
The plot lines and overall writing of the original Trilogy of these movies was UNREAL. All original and very in depth.
On RUclips there is a video titled "Davy Jones Without VFX", and it's a deleted scene where Bill Nighy is wearing the motion capture suit. It's a nice reminder that the [good] CGI is still nothing without Nighy's mannerisms.
Fun fact: The music for the scene with the rolling waterwheel is called 'Wheel of Fortune'.
26:25 one of the best parts of this movie is the fact that this part was completely improvised and the confused look on everyone's faces was genuine
One of the best sequels! You be surprised how well the CGI has held up over the years!
Beckett taking revenge for Kiera rejecting his proposal in Pride & prejudice
The compass pointing at Jack is a deception. He had the papers she wanted in his pocket, then he stood where the chest was.
It is there to make you question, and she does have some fascination with Jack, but it's more that she envies his pirate freedom than she's interested in him. She was always loyal and never faltered in her devotion to Will, only kissing Jack when it was the best way to keep everyone including Will from dying.
This movie expands the world building of the Pirates franchise so much while it plants the seeds so well for the next movie. Everytime I rewatch these movies it's so fun and satisfying picking up all the little things and details that stayed behind and later payoff.
This trilogy will always have a special place in my heart and for me established as one of my favourite fantasy franchises, and because of it I will forever defend it. We were so spoiled at that time that critcs overlooked and snobed this trilogy so many times. The acting is impecable, the set designs are amazing, the CGI is some of the best of all time in cinema. Critics called it complicated and sometimes too long. Imagine saying a plot is complicated as if it were a bad thing. I imagine critics calling movies like Interstellar, Inception, Dune complicated and can't stop laughing.
Can't wait to see your reaction on the next one. It's my personal favourite of the trilogy and it has one of my favourite climaxes. Hopefully you will like it too.
On a side note, after you watch the third movie you should give a chance to the deleted scenes of both the second and the third movie because they add so much character depth and context to when these characters met before the events in the movies. They should have included a lot of them but I can only imagine what critics and people would say if they were 15 or 20 minutes longer since they already criticised these ones for being so long.
I feel like this is two movies. Maybe not, but two drastically different tones once Jones shows up. The first part is almost clownish (in a good way, clowning well is hard) and the second part is almost horror. Bill Nighy’s performance is legendary.
It won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects
In my opinion, this is the best Pirates movie and one of my top 3 favorite movies of all time. When it came out, people didn't like this one as much and a lot of fans still prefer the first one over all the sequels, but I've noticed that a lot of reactors that have the luxury of watching through the trilogy all in a short time tend to enjoy the sequels a LOT more than people did at the time. I've always loved them, but I love to see more love for them nowadays
Im so happy you are doing this series, these movies are some of my favorites of all time. I even love the 4th (Ian Mcshane can carry the world on his back) but the 5th is rough, still fun though tbh. :D
Love your reacts Ang!
That silly bit of word play with Jack trying to convince Will that he wants to look for the key so that the compass works for him is really fun XD
The two goofy guys you said were against Jack in the first movie were actually members of Jack's original crew along with Barbossa. They all turned on Jack except for Will's father, Bootstrap who didn't want to betray Jack, and they tossed him over board where he obviously was saved from death by agreeing to be part of Davy Jones crew.
Saved from being _trapped undead at the bottom of the sea for all time,_ upgraded to different kind of undead on a ship for 100 years (later upped to an eternity due to a ill-advised game of liars dice) but still a noticeable step up from tied to a cannon at the bottom of the sea for an eternity.
Please give the Star Trek franchise a chance. 🖖🖖🏻🖖🏼🖖🏽🖖🏾🖖🏿
everybody made a really good performance in this movie
@ANGELINAA You have to remember that they filmed Part 2 and 3 back to back; just as it was with Back to the Future, The Matrix, and Lord of the Rings. The difference here was there was no short teaser for the next film at the end of this film.
Also, if you like the actor who plays Beckett, he has also appeared in Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation, and was in the Queen-biopic Bohemian Rhapsody; playing Queen’s manager Jim “Miami” Beach.
21:49 See, I always assumed here because of what Norrington said, that the compass was pointing at Jack because she wanted to know how Will ended up at the Dutchman (and Jack is the responsible for that).
It seems too out of nowhere to me that Lizzie starts wanting Jack here. Maybe she misinterprets the compass, thinking the compass is saying she wants Jack when Jack is the answer to why Will is now at Jones’s ship.
I find it hilarious and awesome that Bill Nighy was Davy Jones, as well as Viktor from Underworld, Rufus Scrimgeour from Harry Potter, and Howard Clifford from Pokémon: Detective Pikachu. Quite the interesting career for that guy.
16:15 so the reason Jacks soul is worth 100 is because Jack freed a slave ship that held 100 slaves. Jones considers those souls his so he wants a replacement. Still a compliment and testament to Jacks true character underneath all the deception
"People ain't cargo mate."
I always rewatch these movies while I’m like cleaning or something so 100% paying attention but watching you rewatch them making remember how good they are the first remember how good they are
Bruh how I wish I could watch these for the first time. They are legendary
I really enjoy the relationship between Elizabeth and Jack in these last 2 movies. Sure, there is a bit of lust there, but the other one represents the part of themselves that they deny. To Elizabeth, Jack is the essence of freedom, adventure, and impulsivity, something that she is unsure she's willing to give up by entering married life in a "proper" society that will likely stiffle it. To Jack, the idealism and sense of honor Elizabeth exudes reminds him of who he once was but the brutality of the pirates life eroded away. And in the end, they switched. Great stuff!👍
The actor playing Norington was the star of a brilliant British tv show called Coupling.
this movie will always be one of my favourites, as a cgi/3d university graduate the cgi in this movie blows me away and holds up so damn well
It brings so much joy seeing you enjoy my favorite franchise. I laughed so hard when (13:38) Tia Dalma gave Jack the dirt, she asked "If you don't want it, give it back" and he said "no" clenching it tighter like a child. He doesn't know what its for but he wants it because it knows its important. In a somewhat unrelated note, last year when Johnny Depp was on trial for "abusing" his ex wife, she mentions that she saw him with a jar of cocaine. He then looks to his lawyer and says "A jar? A jar of dirt?" and laughs.
I love the way all the characters speak in these films, the vocabulary is so colorful. And of course the accents and all the fencing. We don’t get enough fencing in modern films……..Ange, did you ever watch the Zorro movies with Antonio Banderas? I’ll have to go check.
one of my fave movie series, so glad your finally watching them! super entertaining :)
So, Tom Hollander (Beckett, Mr. Collins) is an amazing actor. There's a mini series called Dr Thorne, it's very Pride and Prejudice/Jane Austen style but the writing is the same guy as Downton Abbey. The main character is Dr Thorne, played by Hollander. It's extremely good, there’s a sweet love story and uppity people getting their comeuppance and the Doctor is a sweetheart.
The entire crew of the Flying Dutchman were CGI except for Bootstrap Bill. Davey Jones was played by Bill Nighy.
Bill Nighy, Depp and director Gore Verbinski worked together on Rango, ILM's first (and only?) animated feature.
This is my favorite one in the franchise. The action, the characters, the settings, and that soundtrack! Davy Jones’s pull-up game is crazy, and Jack Sparrow is the 🐐 real 🤘🏽
My VFX instructor was the lead on programming the tentacles on Davy Jones. Also, Johnny depp totally improv "I got a jar of dirt" scene and they were all bewildered 😂
21:48 - To explain that, Elizabeth was given that question of what she wanted to know, that being in the moment, "Why is Will on the Flying Dutchman?" the answer being with the compass pointing, "Jack Sparrow".
Awesome, I routinely watched the hell out of the Pirates trilogy in my highschool years, so much so that I used to be able to recite the first one cleanly. One thing I think Black Pearl has over DMC is how well Black Pearl works as a standalone movie, it's actually so perfect.
multi talented Ange! good job on the marathon training!
Great reaction, loved it ❤
Oh babys back!! Keep on running ❤️❤️
hey angelina !! i don’t know if you’ll see this but i came across your channel and i love your stuff ! i also watched dead man’s chest an hour ago ❤
I remember watching this movie in the theater! I was like 11 years old haha. The surprise reveal at the end had people cheering. It is one of my favorite moments ever that I still love seeing people react to for the first time.
Been waiting for you to react to this
Still the best cliffhanger since Marty came back from the future.
I really loved your reaction on this movie, and this sequel is really amazing
Another great reaction, no matter what anyone says you’ve got to watch all the movies they are all great 😊
The compass points towards the holder's "true target". But it might just point at Jack, as the next waypoint towards the target.
Pintel and Ragetti are one of my favorite duos in cinema history. So funny and endearing but still not completely incompetent like alot of other duos.
LEGGGOOOOO! On to the best part of the whole series imo!
My favourite in the whole series is this movie!
My favorite and maybe best ending to a movie is seeing Barbosa walk down those steps.
i love how much you love stuff
Although this is widely regarded as the best in the series, the next movie is my personal favorite. So I'm excited for the next part 🖤
Good call on the Illithid. Don't know which came first but the D&D 5e Mind Flayers bear heavy similarities to that of Davy Jones
Watching this in the cinema in the summer of 07 was peak
33:28 - 33:40
All that that's why I watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer over and over AND over again! Endless quips, witty humor, so much fun. So the pirates series I can relate to the fun.
Your dark jade green nails are SO pretty bruv
What Elizabeth craves more than anything is freedom so when the compass points toward Jack what it is really pointing towards is a life of freedom on the open ocean and that does tempt Elizabeth briefly but she isn’t really romantically interested in Jack
Very beautiful nail colour!
21:45 I think the compass changed because (and this is strictly my theory), in that moment, what she most wanted was to know why Will was on the Flying Dutchman.
Oh I am SO here for this
Loved your reaction as always. You should watch society of the snow. It's a great movie and I would love to hear what you have to say about that one. If you do watch it I recommend the original language with subtitles, the acting was amazing
Angelina Awesome Video Today!!🔥🐐🐐💎
The third movie is my favorite I am excited for you to see it after this one
Have you played the Monkey Island games? They drew inspiration from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride (at least the first two). If not, I hope you'll play them on your Twitch channel. The three first are the best.
I miss running D: I messed up the tendons in my ankle while hiking about a year ago. It's been pain trying to get back to where I was. Good luck on the race!
the best movie... like ever...
Look at you gettin them miles in. Congrats! Tried the couch to 5k about 25 times. Never left the couch.
15:49 I love how he teleports and then just. No one ever mentions again that he can just do that
40 miles is so long wowieee good job!
you should watch the night manager!! tom hollander is amazing in it
I still quote "boat..." while pointing and exhaling to this day, doesn't even have to be a boat but just something that stands out. Am met with confused faces always.
I need the next one now lol
I agree that the first one is probably a better movie because it's complete, but this one and the 3rd are my favorites in the franchise because the story that they are giving 5 hours to is done so well. Like you would think this was based off an epic novel series, but it's just a really well-made kind-of 2 part movie.
This is the best one.
Don’t forget to watch all the way after the credits for every Pirates movie! They all have post-credits scenes! 😎👍
I’m not sure if you’ve mentioned it on any of your other videos but what is your training schedule like during the week? Are you averaging like 8 miles a day with your runs? Because that’s awesome.
Please finish the series😭😭
The first 3 movies are just so good!
For a good laugh sometime watch the "Hillywood show" parody of Pirates of the Caribbean. 😂
Well it's easy to see you are going to love the rest of the Pirates of the Caribbean, I know cause I have them all on DVD 😊
I believe they mentioned that Will taught Elizabeth sword fighting :)
I just realized in The opening scene where jack shoots thru the coffin…he LITERALLY…was laying on a dead man’s chest lol
Pirates 1-3 are the perfect story telling triangle
Don't forget the prequel short film "Tales from the Code: Wedlock," which is available on RUclips.
Kraken is just a fancy term for raw takoyaki
My favorite character is jack of course. But damn i love Barbossa so freaking much
Cutler Beckett has a personal problem has a problem with Jack Sparrow.
Jack once was supposed to deliver a cargo for Beckett. He found out the cargo is 100 slaves. He stole the slaves & freed them in Tortuga, then told Beckett "people are not cargo, mate". Beckett put a price on Jack & announced him as a pirate. Jack made a deal with Davey Jones to become the captain of the ship now known as the Black Pearl. That's why Davey Jones said "100 souls" & the crew laughed when Sparrow asked "how many souls my soul worths?"
Angelina looking better and better in every video
“I’m listening”
(Gun to the face)
“I’m listening INTENTLY”
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm curious what run you're participating in? I'm getting myself in shape for the Bay to Breakers run coming up in a couple of weeks. Getting my costume all ready for it too 🏃♀
AWESOME REACTION OF MY FAVORITE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN MOVIE!!!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
