Thanks for this comparison! how do you only have one strand coming out of the diamond knots? (It looks nice) did you do a single strand diamond knot or tie it with two strands and then bury one into the other?
Thanks for sharing. I've heard slightly higher strength comparisons but the relative strengths seem the same. It is worth learning the Brion Toss button knot, or at least searching for it when purchasing pre-made.
If you did not splice that loop into the connecting point and rather just left it as a “continuous loop”, and wrapped it over the top like you do in other videos, wouldn’t the breaking strength be even greater? If it were to fail it would most likely fail at the spliced end because that is only supporting the weight with half a strand, right?
Soft Shackle magic! Look up soft shackles and testing , it is not something easily explained in RUclips comment section. It truly does work. Like two things working together boosting each others strength.

I like to do a double over hand knot so the end can't slide into the tunnel. The knot is pressing against the rope holding it more tight. Do you think it is less safe as there might pe a pressure point coming with the not instead of going evenly around?
Great comparison! Thank you for taking the time to compare them in a video! The first two tend to break at the knot. The third one usually breaks at the nose. The "Improved Soft Shackle" Tac Blades shows, is considered even a bit stronger. ruclips.net/video/K0eZz36PRYI/видео.html Here you have a comparison of all the four soft shackles: www.balancecommunity.com/slack-science/comparison-soft-shackle-methods/
It tested to break at 230% of the breaking load of the single rope. How should the knot invert? It would have to run through the two tiny eye splices in order to invert. Do you have a link to the test results?

It has two strands , but then I buried one inside the other

I have a few videos on tying it ...ruclips.net/p/PLmEWaiosy12dgHMPJLDm21NTIrCTbhCIz&si=mtq1hLpJOExs6ybo
Awesome job Jeff. Thanks for sharing.

I ‘ll have # 3 ! Good demo.
What is the weight difference between the three options?
it's fractions of grams , negligible
How does doubling up the rope give you more than double the strength?

Erik, Also it is 4 strands, only 2 strand at the bend
Erik Rimes More strength than you will ever need regardless. But Jeff explains in his replies.

It still works :)
Where do you buy your amsteel at?
Any marine supply store like West Marine will have Amsteel/Dyneema/Spectra.

The TacBlades one uses a lot more rope and tested to invert the knot :(

There is mention of the knot failing in on of the published tests. The base of the knot is not uniform, that is most likely why.
Thanks. I have seen it now. I never had a problem with it so far but Haven't used them very often (Amsteel 7/64" and Lash-It 1.75mm)
any links?
Where is a good place to buy amsteel in bulk?
